The moment you enter this bright Bengaluru home, you see a sleek green and white shoe cabinet. However, Robin wanted the foyer to only contain furniture that was absolutely essential to the room. This acrylic finish shoe cabinet is placed in the foyer with a background of a rich green wallpaper. Subsequently, the colours used in the foyer are extremely aesthetic, giving it a well coordinated look. Notice that stunning pendant light illuminating the foyer? While it adds a touch of luxury, Vrinda used one pendant light for its functionality.
Leading out of the foyer is a blue-themed living room lit by plenty of sunlight. Your attention is immediately drawn to a floral sofa with bright orange cushions. It adds a great deal of character to the house giving it a springtime vibe. Complementing the floral sofa is a smart buy from an online store, the blue sofa-cum-bed.
The living room had a bare wall that was perfect for an accent wall. Consequently, the wallpaper used is a textured wallpaper in a stunning shade of blue. Vrinda has creatively used this opportunity to add a wallpaper that adds finesse to the room.
In contrast to the springtime theme, there is a sleek TV cabinet in high gloss laminate finish from the Livspace catalogue. However, this black and white cabinet has shelves for coffee table books and decoratives that the family can add to as their collection grows. In addition to the abundant natural light, there is a snazzy 6 layered pendant light from the Livspace catalogue. Hanging beside the TV cabinet, this pendant light pulls the entire living room together.

The bustling family wanted a breakfast counter for quick meals. In addition to this, they wanted a bar counter for all their fun social gatherings. Due to the limited space, Vrinda skillfully combined the two, to make a breakfast-cum-bar counter. Similarly, the unique counter is a multipurpose feature in the home. It has a granite countertop and storage space beneath the counter. On the other hand, the shelves used to store glasses and bottles, goes perfectly with the counter. So, it makes it a breakfast counter by day and a bar by night. Meanwhile, you can spot more of Livspace’s elegant pendant lights above this counter.
Subsequently, the neutral walls in the room seamlessly compliment the family’s Buddhist shrine along with a vibrant painting of a Buddhist in the dining room.

On the other hand, connected to the dining room is a kitchen with brown, white and orange matte laminate cabinets. Above all, the kitchen is seemingly sectioned off from the living room because of the jaali partition. Therefore, Robin and Ritika, were thrilled to have the partition installed as it gives the kitchen some privacy as well as adds an ornamental look to the home.
In addition to this, the couple retained the original backsplash that came with the house. As a result, Vrinda suggested adding a granite countertop with flecks of orange, that would match the backsplash and the orange elements scattered in the home.
“Designing a home has never been more simple. Robin and Ritika were very forthcoming and decisive. They took all my suggestions into consideration and had some really good ideas of their own. A combination of all our ideas resulted in this beautiful design”.

If you are looking for more interior design inspiration then take a look at this other Bengaluru home: A 4BHK Dressed in Blazing Colours
Scarcity of space is a typical problem for Mumbaikars. But where others see challenge, we spot an opportunity. So when Akriti Maurya came to us with a interior design requirement for a 2BHK furnished minimally, we decided to give it our best shot. The family of four comprises Akriti’s parents, Kavita and Ramashish Maurya as well as her brother, Rudraksh. Thus, the compact apartment has been modified to fit the requirements of four adults.
Take a tour to see how a smart design can transform small spaces into exceedingly usable ones.

In the living room, one wall is occupied by the TV unit, which is simple yet effective. The cabinets in the unit provide ample storage space for books to the Mauryas, a family of avid readers. Since the room can comfortably accommodate only a three seater sofa, Avani added a window ledge that offers a comfy seating option. Both the centre table and the dinning table have marble tops. An exposed brick wallpaper accents the dining area which features a compact four seater dining table.
Interior Design 2 BHK Furnished Decor: At the altar

Mrs. Kavita Maurya was the most involved member of the household in the design process and requested our designer Avani for a dedicated pooja space that would be sleek yet striking. The backlit altar against the wallpaper uses minimum space and the drawers in the cabinet under it can be used for storage.

The original plan of the house had a closed kitchen, but the designer decided to open up the kitchen to give it more room. The kitchen has modular cabinets topped with acrylic for a glimmering finish. The open kitchen cuts an elegant picture with quartz countertops, one of which can be used as a breakfast counter as well. The entire set up with a cluster of pendant lights looks rather sassy. The kitchen is also a functional triumph because it opens up to the living room and faces the TV cabinet. So Mrs. Maurya can now watch television as she goes about her business in the kitchen.

The master bedroom greets you with a muted pastel wallpaper. The rest of the room is an amalgam of warm neutrals and gorgeous geys. The silken pink of the bed’s headboard matches the drapes in terms of colour and texture. The wall opposite the bed is occupied by a wardrobe, which also accommodates a working space for Mr. Ramashish Maurya, a lawyer by profession. Kavita is Vastu-conscious when it comes to her bedroom; hence, there are no exposed mirrors in the room.

The two adult children of the family share a bedroom. The siblings, Akriti and Rudraksh, have single beds placed parallel to each other with a chest of drawers in the middle to separate them. The two of them share the wardrobe and the dresser but they have their own bookshelves mounted on either sides of the beds to store their expansive collection of books.
As a family moves through the years, it hordes memories. More often than not, these memories are tied to things like family heirlooms or a child’s favourite toy. Afterall, not all things can be discarded because they are not useful anymore. But to retain these things and memories, we need ample storage. So this young family made the smart choice to invest in plentiful storage for their 2BHK in Hyderabad. Consequently, Vivek and Banupriya’s home has a buffet of the best modular design options from Livspace. Our designer Ritika Gupta has ensured that this home has sufficient storage solutions for prosperity!

Ritika suggested a simple modular design for the entertainment unit in the living room. Moreover, the sleek unit uses white and walnut brown laminate. We particularly like the vertical stack of shelves for display.
In the dining area, the crockery cabinet has a mix of open and closed storage. It is quite evident that space optimisation was on top priority while designing storage for this 2BHK in Hyderabad.
Modular Design for Custom Pooja Unit
This pooja-cum-crockery cabinet is the only custom piece in this home. It was made to fit the depth of the niche in the wall. In fact, the combination of laminate and glass gives a sense of openness to the design. This unit has a special sliding ledge that can be pulled out to offer prasad to the deities.

Modular Design for Kitchen
The kitchen was a real challenge for our design team as the couple wanted a wide range of storage options. However, Ritika managed to stick with the budget by using an ingenious mix of modular design options from our catalogue! For example, she gave them a mid-tall unit, which is a budget version of the pantry pull-out, for storing groceries. She also gave them a wall unit for their microwave and open units to fit in wicker baskets of their choice.

Vivek and Banupriya’s master bedroom, like the rest of their home, gives us serious storage goals. The integrated unit with wardrobes on both sides of the bed, shelves, lofts and a back panel for the bed has different kinds of storage rolled into one. We particularly love the use of vertical space in this modular storage unit.

It is always a special feeling to move into a bigger home and for the Joshi family, this was one such celebration. Having done the interiors of their previous homes on their own and through contractors and carpenters, this time around they wanted professional help. They purchased two flats in Vile Parle and decided to combine them to make it a big 4BHK for the family.
This home has been designed under the expert supervision of designer, Yogita Itkarkar and she has put her heart and soul into it. After meeting the family, she figured that each member of the family had individual needs and preferences, and she had to cater to each one of them. While the overall theme of the home is contemporary, she makes sure that there is an element of colour in every room. Read on to find out how she went about designing this brilliant home.

Dual seating living room for this 4 BHK flat in Mumbai
Once you enter this huge home, you will realise the beauty of combining two flats. The living room is so spacious that Yogita could create two separate areas. Mr. Joshi prefers watching television and relaxing by himself while he’s at it. Therefore, Yogita divided the living room in such a way that he gets to enjoy his own space peacefully.
The other half is the formal living room where the family entertains guests and friends. Here, you will spot a pretty wooden jhula that they purchased locally and it adds a charming detail here. She has also given them a cosy sofa and two turquoise blue accent chairs that add to the seating. We love how welcoming and cosy this space looks, despite the fact that it is a vast area.

4 BHK flat in Mumbai gets a chic breakfast counter
The family really likes the concept of having a breakfast counter and the space at their Mumbai flat interior allowed for it. Yogita has demarcated this space with wooden rafters on the ceiling and partition. A compact breakfast counter for two, with wooden and mirror work panel and two bar stools complete the look of this space. It is the perfect spot to enjoy a morning cuppa or a drink with friends! An interesting feature here is the artificial grass panel that is quite popular among homeowners in Mumbai.

Passageways, whether they are at the entrance of your home or connecting different rooms, are design opportunities. If you leave them bare, they look like fillers that disrupt the thread of continuity in your home. However, if you opt for the right hallway decor ideas, the passages in your homes may well become the highlights of your interiors.
Here is a curated list of passageways from #LivspaceHomes that are bound to inspire you!
Hallway Decor Ideas #1: Light up the way
Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. Real and rustic charm
One of the most time-tested ways to do up a passageway is to use statement lights. But the novelty of this chandelier with industrial overtones really caught our eye in this #LivspaceHome. The abstract wallpaper too complements the lighting to perfection.
Hallway Decor Ideas #2: Buddha’s Boon
Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. The pop of orange adds to Buddha’s brilliance
The image of Buddha has become quite the modern motif for art and we see it used in different forms in many homes. However, placing this statement statue in a niche is a particularly bold design idea. There is something striking about this large statue of Buddha on a lotus, and the pop of orange certainly attracts attention.
Hallway Decor Ideas #3: Cryptic Carvings

This intricately carved wooden panel is a statement piece in itself. The ledge below is a sleek and functional addition. The quaint pendant lights provide the finishing touches to this vintage setting.
Hallway Decor Ideas #4: Wooden Wonder

On one side we have textured wooden panels and on the other, there is a wall-to-wall mirror to reflect it. Even the ceiling in this passage has warm wooden details. It comes together as a feast of warm wooden finishes.
Hallway Decor Ideas #5: Glint & Gleam
Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view. The gleam of glass and glint of metal
This hallway has a double whammy of shine. The mirror panels add a gleaming touch to the hallway wall decor. Meanwhile, there is a glint of metal coming from the console. We also loved the scooped design of the console’s base.
Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view.An unlikely mish-mash of design features
This hallway puts together an unlikely combination of design features for a stunning effect. The ceiling has wooden rafters as well as floral details. The hallway wall decor is marked by mouldings that mimic frames. Although distinct, the features come together as a cohesive whole.
Hallway Decor Ideas #7: Stylishly Scandinavian
Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view.Less is more
The sheer bareness of this passageway is a design statement that highlights the minimal console. Don’t miss the rare black pottery on the console or the rounded wall lights that illuminate this space.
Hallway Decor Ideas #8: Dots and Dash

The round-shaped mirrors add spots of shine to this passage. The wooden panelling behind the mirrors helps bring in an element of contrast, and the ledge is sleek as well as functional addition to the setup.
Hallway Decor Ideas #9: Zigzag-ing Through the Hallway

This hallway forces you to stop and look at the zigzag-patterned floor you are walking on. Also, with the mirror on the wall, you can take a last-minute look at yourself before walking out.

A kitchen is where meals as well as plenty of unforgettable memories are made. So when Hema and Guru Prakash purchased their new home in the suburbs of Bengaluru, they wanted their kitchen to be the perfect setting for making memories. Moreover, this vivacious couple had a clear picture of how they wanted their kitchen to be, so they approached Livspace to design it for them. After all, we are the best modular kitchen interior designers in Bangalore! They decided to go ahead with designing the modular kitchen in Bangalore and opted for a bright and traditional theme. The idea was to keep it classy but also easy to use.
Prajwalita, the Livspace designer assigned to this project, has done justice to the compact kitchen by making it look gorgeous while keeping the design practical. For instance, her basic idea was to design a kitchen that is modern with warm wooden tones and can accommodate all essential appliances.

Hema’s heart was set on a kitchen that was simple and airy. Since she enjoys cooking and spends a considerable amount of time in the kitchen. As a result, the kitchen had to be practical and user friendly. Hence, Prajwalita ensured that the kitchen is a warm and welcoming space. Take a quick glance at the kitchen and you can see plenty of storage. The cabinet shutters have membrane finish. The designer has used a light colour for the wall cabinets. On the other hand, she has used a deeper shade of brown for the base cabinets.

The wall units and lofts are light brown in colour with wooden texture. In our catalogue, we call this the Oak Endgrain Delight finish. Consequently, the light colour and use of vertical space gives the kitchen an appearance of having a high ceiling and being more spacious. When light colours are used in a busy space, it can create a crisp and spacious vibe.

The base cabinets are in a warm shade of brown with an undertone of yellow. Believed to make people hungry, yellows and browns can give the kitchen a light and breezy look without adding too much colour. Subsequently, these elegant colours pair beautifully with the neutral walls to create a classic kitchen.
Similarly, tandem drawers have been installed to maximise efficiency and make the meal prepping process as seamless as possible. With linear shelves in them, these drawers are smooth and easy to maneuver with the touch of a finger.

As a final touch, a mix of profile handles and knobs have been installed on these cabinets. The wall units have stunning brass knobs, which add a touch of luxury to these cabinets. Whereas, the base cabinets have an old world charm thanks to their vintage handles.
However, as the tour comes to an end, it’s evident that Hema and Guru Prakash couldn’t be more content with their brand new kitchen.
“Hema and Guru Prakash asked for a simple design which was not only aesthetic but also space efficient for their compact kitchen. It was really easy working with them as they were sure of what they wanted. Similarly, they were also open to new ideas and took all of them into consideration.”
Imagine the pressure a home feels when it is standing strong for decades, with new buildings cropping up all around it. This 4BHK is nestled inside one such apartment in a Mumbai suburb that was screaming for a makeover, when the owners decided to get in touch with Livspace. We love giving old homes a facelift so that it can withstand the competition from all sides.
This project was one of the first projects for Livspace designer, Vishakha D’souza and she has given her heart and soul into this one. While she was asked to design the home with subtle colours and modern aesthetics, she also filled the space with warmth. Flaunting neutral colours, glossy finishes and a hint of glitter, this one is surely one of the best home designs in Mumbai.

There are some foyers that deserve a mention and this one right here is definitely one such foyer. The fun fact is that the family was not thinking of creating an entryway of sorts. But, Vishakha wanted to break the space and create a partition in between the dining area and the entrance to the home. Therefore, she gave them a jaali divider that is not too heavy on the eyes and a shoe rack that doesn’t look like one, making this a functional zone.

The living room is a perfect example of how modern spaces should be designed. This room combines modern aesthetics with some classic elements like wood finishes and a swing in place. Although the swing has no frills attached and is suspended by simple cables, it adds drama to the seating in this living room. Damask dominates the look and vibe of this space, with beige being the dominant colour. If you notice carefully, the only pop of colour are the chirpy cushions. The TV unit is glossy and accommodates a projector which the family loves using.

The crockery unit is fully loaded and comes with a lot of storage. There’s also a provision to display items in the open shelves in the centre of the wall cabinets.
“It was an amazing experience to get our work done though Livspace. Vishakha is a great designer and the best part about her is that she gave in her 100% in everything that she did. Talking about the functionality of this room, the reason why it looks so spacious is because two rooms were combined to make this one. The most striking feature of this room is the full-size headboard that is fully upholstered in composite leather and sports a fun geometric pattern on it.
He also has dedicated zones in this room, like the study corner and a special spot for his piano practice, since he loves playing the piano. The dresser on one side of the bed is not a regular one. There’s ample storage behind the mirror, with a fun veneer-finished drawer attached to it. Vishakha also made sure that she left enough space for the kids to play around the room by leaving a considerable amount of empty floor space.

What does a girl who loves pink deserve? A pink themed room, right? This room belongs to a little girl who wanted to give her dolls a special space alongside her. Therefore, Vishakha has given wall shelves and cabinets so that she can keep her dollhouse and toys close to her. If you notice carefully, she has given pink only in specks which can be changed later, once she grows up. We are crushing on this cute little room designed for a princess.
“Design is not what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works. I had this thought right from the time I started out with my career. The whole intent was to make everything functional while not compromising on the aesthetics. The requirement of the client was very simple — they did not want jazz. And, that’s exactly what we gave them. They had a lot of faith in my vision and that gave me a lot of freedom to be creative. Overall, it was an amazing experience to work for this family.”

Beige Beauty at Little Earth Pune
Their living area is a mix of neutral colours. The fabric sofa is light brown in colour that matches the wallpaper from the Livspace catalogue that covers the media wall. Their entertainment unit is a simple affair; its floating design saves space and brown laminate finish gives it a natural look. The highlights of the living area are the pendant lights and ceiling treatment with a bit of brown, which also happens to be Vivek’s favourite design element in his apartment.

Clean & Minimal at Little Earth Pune
Vivek and Himani wanted to retain their existing dining set for the time being so Nirzari kept the dining space as simple as possible. However, she has left plenty of room for customisation and decoration here. She has used the large window to let in as much light as possible and the ceiling has a rounded false ceiling detail with a touch of brown to match the living area.

Blazing Reds at Little Earth Pune
Vivek and Himani were very particular about ensuring that their kitchen is vastu-friendly. Thus, Nirzari has used shades of fiery red and yellows, colours that represent agni (fire) and stoke hunger. The parallel kitchen has blazing red base cabinets in laminate finish and white wall cabinets contrasted with a black granite countertop. The backsplash has a feast of mustard yellow Moroccan tiles.

“Our experience of working with the design team in Pune was quite awesome. Our designer, Nirzari, was very creative and competent. The work was done to match our expectations. I would definitely recommend Livspace to my friends and family if they are looking for end-to-end home interiors.” – Vivek Agrawal, Livspace Homeowner
As Vivek and Himani are particular about following the tenets of vastu, they wanted their pooja room to be in the northeast corner of their home. Nirzari converted a niche provided for a wash basin in the living room into their pooja corner and dressed it in a bright shade of crimson. The pooja corner has a backlit laser-cut panel with om inscribed on it, and it is painted white with duco paint. The storage underneath the altar is a modular piece from from our catalogue.

The couple’s bedroom is a feast of graceful greys that have a calming effect on this space. The bed, with its striking grey headboard, is from our catalogue. The exposed brick wallpaper is also picked from our Experience Centre in Pune. The ceiling in this room too has a grey panel that helps maintain continuity of design. As whites go very well with greys, the sliding wardrobe and dresser have white laminate finish. This is Vivek and Himani’s favourite space in their new home due to the serenity that it offers.

The couple has a toddler, Aayarav, who is just edging towards his second birthday, and his room is a riot of colours. We love the fresh lime green walls and the pop of orange coming from the two-toned sliding wardrobe. Aayarav’s bunk bed is a convertible piece from our catalogue that can be assembled into two single beds. And the false ceiling in this room as clouds in it. How cute is that!

With the tufted sofas already present, nothing short of a Mughal-esque living room could suffice for the Arora family. As one of the best interior designers in Noida, Archie set the tone for the perfect old-world living room with the bougainvillea-themed wallpaper. You’ll see the curtains tie in perfectly with the couches. Additionally, the hints of gold in the fan, and the marble-topped centre table add to the grandeur.
The regal setting is further enhanced by the two golden pendant lights. Subsequently, the lights were carefully chosen to tie in with the elegance of arches and domes. The room is thus enveloped in a glow that dims the present and takes you on a trip down the lanes of history!
A Simple Dining Room

For the kitchen, the Aroras wanted something subtle yet striking. The family and the designer mutually decided upon a combination of yellow and grey. So yellow PU finish wall cabinets were married to grey membrane finish base cabinets. It creates an array of colours and textures that laid out a feast for the eyes. Likewise, the decision to use a quartz countertop was to give the kitchen a fresh look. A pleasure to create some culinary magic in, according to the best interior designer in Noida.

Furthermore, the white wardrobes tie in with the wallpaper and curtains, while making the bedroom appear clutter-free.
On noticing a convenient niche at the master bedroom window, interior designer Archie suggested a seating design. The red seat grabs eyeballs with ease, adding a pop of colour to the room.

In addition, the best interior designer in Noida suggested an owl-themed wallpaper to foster creativity in the growing child.
However, in order to showcase little Rabya’s collection of toys and favourite wall accessories, Archie installed some wall shelves. Besides, these artsy shelves have quickly become a hit, allowing breakables to be displayed safely.
“Since Shilpi and Rajat already had the furniture for their home, the design for the interior was woven with that in mind. They were open to ideas and quick to decide, making it a seamless experience.” –Archie Ahlawat, Interior Designer, Livspace

First impressions are a big deal, even when it comes to a home. Stepping into the home, it would take a few minutes to take in all the chic elements that light up the space. A storage cabinet in smooth slate grey laminate stands right at the entrance without handles. Of course, the highlight of the cabinet would be the statue of Buddha placed under a spotlight in a wooden niche.

A sleek round coffee table with a white top centres the space. In addition, a console table with two drawers standing on brass legs has been tucked into a corner.
Notice the walls? These have been designed with special care. While the top half flaunts a light grey hue, the bottom portion stands in white. The wall mouldings and false ceiling with track lights in particular elevate the softness of the space.

In addition, lofts have also been placed for extra storage. A striking floral wallpaper adorns the centre wall of this room.

There are very few homes that spell awe with every step you take. Spruha and Varad’s Goregaon home design is one such place that has all the boxes ticked when it comes to colour, style and vibe. As you walk into this snug apartment, a Caribbean turquoise couch welcomes you. As your eyes move around the home, you notice the matching wall that stands right opposite the couch. An ash grey sofa-cum-bed occupies the space that lies in front of the accent wall. A ladder-style bookshelf on the opposite wall adds to the functionality and design quotient of this living room.

When you have such a Bohemian vibe running through your home, you have to get the furniture right too. Ritika gave the family natural wood-finish furniture that blends perfectly with the design aesthetics of their home. Due to the space constraints, she gave them this sleek table with stools that slide in. While the wall-hung ledges act as display racks for trophies and awards, the tall unit provides space for cutlery.
A Quiet Reading Corner

Alongside acting, Spruha, also reads and writes poetry, something that she enjoys and unwinds with. Since, the home overlooks the maximum city, Ritika gave Spruha and Varad, a cozy corner to sit and read in. The corner of the sofa-sum-bed is in line with the window, and acts as a “me time” corner for the couple. Throw in some quirky cushions and a cup of coffee, and they’re all set!

Some things find their own sweet spot at home, effortlessly. Such is the bookshelf that welcomes you into Akshara and Paran’s home. Being avid readers and travellers, this couple always wanted a cozy nook for their books and curios. Moreover, they believe in perfection and wanted a space for everything. Paran loves collecting action figures and that is what you see atop this versatile wall-mounted library. As a result, Pragya gave the couple a reading corner-cum-display unit in this flat design which they loved. In addition to the pristine white bookshelf, the beige rug and matching ottoman make this area the talk of the house!
A statement dining room

Designing a dining room with such intricacy is no easy task. Trust us when we say this because the couple wanted a very unique dining area with the limited space available. Therefore, Pragya ended up giving them trims on the wall in a lovely beige tone, that sets this space apart. Subsequently, Akshara also wanted to display the lovely collection of plates from all over the world and Pragya found the perfect spot for the same. Moreover, dreamy lilac Lexington dining chairs and a marble top dining table complete this space.

When you have a lot of friends visiting you over weekends, you just cannot make do with a regular living room. Therefore, Akshara and Paran wanted a casual setting for their living room, where they could entertain friends and family. In came Pragya with the best choice of seating for such a situation. Easy to move around and light on the eyes were two major factors in selecting furniture for the living room.
Hence, the two-seater sofa, chairs and the bench happened. Pragya also gave a burst of colour to this space, with the two-seater in bright ochre, chairs in cobalt blue and bench in abstract print. So, when the couple has friends over, they can easily move the furniture around and create a fun zone out of their living room, which is situated beside the bar!
A ravishing entertainment zone
Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view.Complementary coloursImage may be NSFW. Clik here to view.An efficient multipurpose unit
The entertainment room is the only room at home that has a television and it deserved a good design, meant purely for fun! Pragya suggested bright rust upholstery for the couch that turns into a bed for snooze time. Subsequently, the TV unit is also an integral part of the design, with stone finish paneling behind the television and frosty white finish for the cabinets.
In addition to this, a ladder-style display unit adorns the wall, where action figures take center-stage, yet again. The blinds are perfectly in sync with the couch and the vibe of the room. Also, a tiny work space finds place in this room. Mixing work and fun is not always boring, we say!

However, one of the striking features of this room is the cozy seating that breaks the monotony of the white wardrobes. Frames are also an important part of this flat design, and thus the empty wall serves as the perfect spot for hanging coveted photo frames. As a result, this room really packs a punch!
“Akshara had very specific requirements for a lot of things. Initially, it was a little difficult to come to a consensus, but eventually things fell into place. I enjoyed designing for this couple, since I had the liberty to design according to certain specifications. I love how the home turned out in the end!”
For some, owning a house and turning it into a warm and welcoming home is the ultimate dream. Vivek and Juhi, a young couple and doctors by profession, got to do just that to their Paras Irene home. They had specific ideas for their new home with their heart set on a modern design. Coming back home to bland colours and minimal interiors was a major concern for the millennial duo. No matter how far children go from their parents, a part of them remains at their parents’ home – this Livspace home in Chennai stands testimony to this. Jagadesh and Priyadarshini Mohan, children of the retired couple Mohan Kumar and Anbarasi, left no stone unturned in ensuring that their parents have a beautiful home to enjoy a leisurely retired life. As one of the top interior designers in Chennai, Livspace took on the challenge of turning this family’s ideas into reality. Livspace designer Santhosh Balasubramanian took his time in understanding the family’s preferences before designing the interiors for their dream home.
A love for natural finishes and greenery inspired the design for this home. With its stark white walls and wooden elements across the home, this 3BHK truly reflects how the couple envisioned their dream home, with corners reflecting the preferences of each person in the family.
Where the Family Gathers in Asta AVM
The central element of this Asta AVM home in Chennai is this traditional swing, around which the room decor is woven. An essential part of their home for years, this swing has an emotional connect with Priyadarshini. Eating Together at Asta AVM
An elegant wooden arch separates the dining room and pooja unit from living room and clearly demarcates the space as it runs seamlessly to the opposite wall. While the pooja unit is installed on one side of the arch, the other side is a green belt of boxes filled with plants. Santhosh suggested sleek industrial lights above the breakfast table to add a contemporary touch to the space. The four-seater wooden dining table with a cluster of overhead lights sits pretty against a backdrop of canopy-style drapes.

Cappuccino Hues for the Kitchen at Asta AVM
The brown and white colour scheme of the kitchen is in tune with the colour palette chosen for the home. In addition, the cappuccino-coloured base cabinets and white wall cabinets are separated by a black granite countertop. The result is a kitchen that makes the most of natural light and basks in its coffee-coloured hue.

The exposed brick wallpaper in the bedroom sets a restful tone for the space. Feminine Touches at Asta AVM
The floor-to-ceiling headboard in Priyadarshini’s bedroom has won our hearts! In keeping with her parents’ need for higher and more accessible beds, the bed’s height has been raised.
Santhosh has designed this room with soft feminine touches – like the placement of an oval mirror and a small dressing table in a corner. At the same time, the plants by the mirror add the much-needed dash of green to this white room with wooden finishes.

A Bedroom that Doubles up as a Study at Asta AVM
In keeping with the rest of the house, Jagadesh’s bedroom has stark white walls and a wooden headboard. The wardrobe plays match with the headboard, while the white drawers on the study and side table simply add to the charm of the room. The study table provides a functional space that allows Jagadesh to sit and study or work in peace.

There are some homes that exude a calm vibe and make you feel comfortable the moment you step in. While families these days want to live in the bang of the city, given an option, they would love to be closer to their roots. This is exactly what happened with Sudeep Kulkarni and his wife Nikita, who moved from Goregaon to Andheri, to be closer to her parents’ place. This well-travelled couple has fine taste in interiors and they were looking for someone who will resonate with it.
After meeting with Amar Maru, their designer, they were convinced and confident about getting their home designed through Livspace. A couple of visits to the Lower Parel Experience Center and a few discussions later, they zeroed in on the final designs. They were looking for unique designs for each room, from an earthy palette in the common areas to a vintage vibe in the master bedroom. And the kid’s room is pretty in pink and white. Read on to see how this unfolds!

What is the first thing you notice when you enter this living room? We bet it is the plush and comfortable seating and the warm vibe of the space. Lovers of earthy tones, this couple was sure to keep the living room in this 2 BHK in Mumbai very simple and cosy.
Amar has used sleeper wood for the TV unit, since plain wood or laminate was just not their thing. The rustic appearance of sleeper wood is something that the couple was really biased towards. It completes the look of this space and gives it some amazing character. The industrial corner lights complement the look of this room, while the sheer curtains let sunshine play hide and seek here.

The most striking piece of furniture in this dining room at Neminath Luxeria is the bar-cum-bookshelf. Sudeep is an ardent reader and he treasures his books. He was very particular about having a dedicated storage and display unit for his books. Amar combined the bar and the bookshelf and customised this lovely marble-top unit for them. With the mirror backdrop, this unit looks like a million bucks!
“The entire turnkey project for my residence was handled very smoothly by our designer Amar Maru and Project Manager Salman Sheikh. They not only provided valuable inputs and effective solutions, but also supervised the entire work brilliantly. The excellent and timely work done by Livspace has truly turned this house into our home. We have recommended Livspace to our family and friends and we love the compliments we receive from them!”

We are crushing on theVictorian and vintage master bedroom at Neminath Luxeria. This room is the brainchild of Nikita, since she loves all things classic. The couple picked vintage floral prints for the wallpaper and Amar replicated the same on the chair upholstery as well. We particularly love the subtle curves on the furniture, especially the side table and the study corner. Do not miss the plush button-tufted headboard that matches perfectly with the theme of the bedroom. The couple also wanted storage in their room, hence Amar gave them this amazing chest of drawers and full-height sliding door wardrobes with an arched mirror shutter.

What do we say about this dreamy kid’s room? The little girl at home loves pink and her bedroom had to be doused in her favourite colour. Amar has used different shades of pink on the headboard and the study table. The study table has been customised according to the needs of the child. This room is also filled with storage in terms of a huge sliding door wardrobe and lofts. Also, do not miss the cute butterfly handles that add an amazing detail to the design of this room.
Livspace service: Kitchen, wardrobes and wall treatments

Getting an interior designer for your home is a lot more than making your home beautiful. It’s also about coming up with a solution for a lifestyle need. Or in this case, solving storage woes. Prabit Mishra and his wife, a working couple in Bangalore wanted modern modular solutions for their Casa Paradiso 3BHK apartment in Sobha City. Their priorities were an efficient kitchen and tailored wardrobes.
Sticking to a stipulated budget, our designer Amritha Khuba also put in statement wall treatments and beautiful false ceilings as well. Let’s take a look at how you can make your home beautiful on a budget!

As soon as you enter the home, you are greeted by a zesty textured paint in a yellow orange hue. Since there wasn’t a carved-out foyer, Amritha put in wooden rafters to seprate it from the living room. A laminate shoe cabinet with a comfy cushioned seating option makes the space perfectly functional.

We love how the bright textured paint dominates the living room, acting as an energetic backdrop. It complements the pop colours of the cushions on the dark L-shaped sofa, which was a part of the couple’s original furniture. Opposite this is the TV unit crafted in plum membrane and acacia laminate for the panel. Since the couple wanted a seamless look, Amritha opted to have it done handleless. In addition, she put up ladder-like wooden shelves so they could keep their artefacts and tiny potted plants. Moreover, the elegant false ceiling adds to the appeal of the room.
Image may be NSFW. Clik here to view.Crockery cabinet with ample storage and display
Amritha put in a laminate crockery unit with ample drawers and cabinets. Moreover, the choice of walnut brown for the base cabinet and champagne white for the upper unit softens the dining space.

The kitchen designed by Livspace Bangalore is one of the main highlights of the home. Prabit was especially particular about the kitchen design when he approached us, especially its colour. So we’ve given them wall cabinets in frosty white laminate, while the base units stand out in a red glossy membrane.
In addition, all the cabinets are closed and fitted with traditional bar handles. One of the upper cabinets have been done with frosted glass to offer a sneak peek into their cups and other favourites. The countertop in white Corian stone complements the striking kitchen colours.

Prabit and his wife Debashree love the colour blue. As a result, Amritha kept a sky blue textured paint for the centre wall to enhance the ambience in the master bedroom. While the bed is part of the couple’s existing set of furniture, Amritha crafted a corner dressing unit in walnut brown laminate. In addition, she also put in ledges on opposite sides so that the couple could keep artefacts and other knick-knacks.
We especially love how the wardrobe is crafted. Even though it’s high on storage, it doesn’t overwhelm the space. Featuring lofts, the sliding laminate wardrobe has also been fitted with lacquered glass in the middle to keep things interesting. Amritha also put in a statement false ceiling to add to the vibe of the room.

In addition, Amritha also designed wardrobes for the other two bedrooms. While one wardrobe stands in a checkered design in frosty white and walnut brown, the other is completely in dark brown. We love how our Livspace Bangalore designer integrated a dressing unit to the wardrobe to save up on save and stick within budget.
“As a designer, this home holds a special place in my heart since I got to work with a very specific brief. Working with Prabit and his wife was an enjoyable experience as well!”

Himalayan Heights by Ajmera: Forging a Foyer
Manish and Shweta’s home impresses us even before we step in! Their front door is set into an actual exposed brick wall with a pair of wall lights on either side. Then come to the foyer that didn’t really exist but was carved out by the genius of our designer. Pallavi placed the Guptas’ existing shoe cabinets by the wall coupled with plants to create an entryway. The neat mouldings on the wall also help simulate a foyer-like vibe here.

The living and dining areas in this home have a mix of old and new furniture but we challenge you tell the difference! Pallavi has woven in the existing pieces, like the consoles, dining table and centre table, seamlessly with the new one, such as the custom bench as well as the dining chairs, side tables, lounge chairs and couch from the catalogue.

“We love the way our designer Pallavi has customised the room for our boys; they have two separate beds, study units and wardrobes. But, there is still place to move around and play in this room! Himalayan Heights by Ajmera: Basic & Beautiful
Manish and Shweta wanted to keep their sleeping quarters fairly simple. Hence, the master bedroom is an easy-breezy affair. The solid wood bed and side tables are from our catalogue, and the PU-finish wardrobe is a custom piece. Don’t miss the details of the wardrobe handles; they are carved out of solid wood. Himalayan Heights by Ajmera: Tastefully Tailored
The bedroom for the two boys was the biggest design challenge for Pallavi as Shweta wanted them to have separate beds and study units. Our designer solved it quite smartly by designing an integrated unit with shelves, two bed and wall trims that extend to the wardrobe as well. We are totally crushing on this textured strip of commercial ply with wooden beading that maintains the continuity of design in this room. But, the highlight here is the night sky wallpaper that creates a restful aura. The study unit is a mix of white and brown laminate with enough room for the brothers do either homework at the same time.

Walking into Mannat’s bedroom, you can’t help but gaze at the tropical wallpaper that takes the centre stage. “We wanted to give a fresh and youthful vibrancy to the room” explains Harshpreet. The onion pink headboard gives the room a touch of femininity while the laminate wood panel promotes a warm and cozy space. The dressing unit is kept minimal and compact with a three foot mirror and drawers.
“Before the Sachdevs approached us, they had met with other designers and carpenters. But they quickly realized there were a lot of shortcomings in terms of design, quality and price variations. I am glad that we were able to meet their standards and design a home they love.”
Harshpreet Kaur, Interior Designer, Livspace

The dining room wears all shades of grey and we love it! The dining table set is a stunning solid wood 4-seater catalogue find. The chairs are done up in a beautiful shade of grey with an undertone of lavender, while the table is a white top, wooden frame table. It is set against a wooden laminate finish wall with large mirror paneling making the entire dining space look bright and spacious.

The kitchen has a fab combination of white and grey laminate cabinets. The wall cabinets flaunt a flawless white colour. Whereas, the base laminate cabinets sport a beautiful shade of grey. Adding depth to the kitchen interiors is a low maintenance black granite countertop.
The earlier kitchen design had a bare wall with scope for an innovative design. Priyanka took the opportunity to suggest demolishing the wall to make place for a breakfast counter. This breakfast counter is the highlight of this house as it has two rustic-looking bar stools and a grand drop pendant light. The designer meticulously picked a mix of tasteful designs with a touch of metallic elements for the kitchen interiors.

“Designing a home for Ajmera Exotica was an absolute delight. There was a clear modern and classy theme to be followed while designing the home. However, the client did not curb my creativity, instead acknowledged and utilised all my ideas.”
