A modern design for a Shipra Srishti apartment.

Pops of yellow are splashed across the living room

Who livs here: Anurag Jain, his wife Kalpana, and their two children
Location: Shipra Srishti, Indirapuram, Ghazibad
Size of home: 5BHK spanning 2,200 sq ft for each floor
Design team: Interior designer Geetika Seth
Livspace service: Full home design
Budget: ₹₹₹₹

Located in the most sought after area of Ghaziabad, stands Shipra Srishti, where Anurag Jain and his family found their dream home. The family approached Livspace to deck up their home completely, from flooring to ceiling and everything in between. After all, the sprawling penthouse with two floors does mandate snazzy interiors! Our designer Geetika Seth was soon put to the task.

The now carefully crafted home is dressed in beautiful neutrals, accentuated with happy pops of colours, and subtle wall treatments. We have only featured one bedroom of their five as per the request of the client. Here’s the tour!

Shipra Srishti Apartment Design: Wooden Warmth

A false ceiling in wood and spotlights

Something about wood always makes your home warm and inviting. Since the main door has been done up in decorative wood, it makes a good first impression. Also, we love the drama leading to the living room done by laminated wooden ceiling, dressed with spotlights.

While the living room is doused in soothing neutral tones, pops of mustard yellow and blue adds a refreshing break. Notice how the room is airy and bright? Geetika only put in minimal furniture to allow more breathing space and avoid creating obstacles. There’s plenty of seating options, ranging from three seater sofas to comfy armchairs. Of course, the highlight is the metallic artwork that’s mounted on the wall. It’s been done up in blue to match with the striking sofa below it. Doesn’t it soften the place even more?

Geetika purposely kept the living room neutral to keep the focal point on the approaching tile work. A self textured wallpaper stands behind this sofa. Everything sits on newly done up vitrified flooring.

Since the room is extremely spacious, Geetika put in a partition to make a clear distinction from the dining nook. The partition smartly features a display unit at the top and a hidden trolley at the bottom.

Of course, the focal point is a metallic blue panel that you can’t miss. Made out of three types of tiles, the work of art makes for a stunning element in the dining room. It’s been paired with a sleek console table done in PU. The stone dining table and beige leatherette chairs have been picked from a local shop.

Shipra Srishti Apartment Design: An Elegant Pooja

A motif wallpaper placed in a pooja unit

The pooja unit has been cast into a wall niche beside their daughter’s bedroom. Done up in white laminate, it has upper and lower cabinets for ample storage. Moreover, we love the elegant motif wallpaper that’s been put in with a lone spotlight.

“We enjoyed the whole process. Geetika and her team understood what we wanted and designed it exactly like that. We especially love how Livspace revamped our staircase.”

Kitchens need to be built according to your personal sense of functionality. Since the family preferred different stations for chopping and cooking, there’s plenty of working tops for this kitchen. Similar to a U-shaped kitchen in layout, Geetika put cutouts in between. While all the lower cabinets are in dark brown membrane, the upper cabinets are in white PU. The handles are all traditional pull outs for easy usage and the countertop is made of jet black granite.

If you look beside the cooking station, you would notice a floor-to-ceiling white unit. And if you look closer, you would notice it’s a crockery unit. While the crockery doors are done in white PU, the middle section is crafted out of brown tinted glass. The unit’s height is kept in the same level of the wall cabinets to offer a sense of uniformity.

Teal is the daughter’s favourite colour. As a result, Geetika painted the centre wall in vibrant teal. Since Anurag loves wall trims, she added it to the wall to take it up a notch. “We created the bedroom’s design to complement the accent wall,” Geetika explains.

Just like the rest of the home, the bedroom is minimal in style as well. A TV unit stands opposite the bed. We love the teal storage options with profile handles in the form of hinged opening cabinets, drawer pull outs and lift ups. In addition, Geetika put in a study unit in laminate with open and closed shelves. Moreover, everything sits on wooden flooring, making for a cosy setting.

Anurag was particular about one thing in this bedroom. He wanted some form of fencing as an element of security for a huge window that opens up to the living room terrace. “I wasn’t interested to put traditional grills. So I put up a beautiful jali for the window, this way it’s secure and looks good at the same time,” Geetika reveals.

Shipra Srishti Apartment Design: Statement Stairway
wooden-stairs-lights-white-flooring
Stairs revamped in teakwood
wooden-stairs-lights-from-bottom

Since the staircase wasn’t secure enough and lacked a certain oomph, the family redid the entire staircase. This time in gorgeous teakwood! A patterned grill runs along the staircase on one side and on the other side, a wooden strip has been added on the wall. Because of the added strip, it’s easier to maintain clean walls – a common concern when you hold the wall coming down.

“Working with Anurag and his family was amazing. They were extremely friendly and that made the entire design process even more enjoyable. I am glad they are happy with the outcome!”

This 3BHK in Bestech Grand Spa appears as large as can be!

Who livs here: Sarbjit Singh and his wife, Daisy

Location: Bestech Grand Spa, Sector 81, Gurgaon

Size of home: 3BHK spanning about 2,000 sq. ft

Design team: Interior Designer Harshpreet Kaur with Project Manager Amarjeet K

Livspace service: Full home design

Budget: ₹₹₹₹₹

Having shifted from a large house on the ground floor in Faridabad to an apartment in Bestech Grand Spa in Gurgaon, Mr. Sarbjit and his wife wanted an open and airy apartment. At the same time, the home needed to have ample space for the belongings they had gathered over the years. When they were searching for an interior design company in Gurgaon, they were referred to Livspace. The couple put forth their needs and requirements, as well as their ideas for their home. Livspace designer Hashpreet Kaur stepped into the picture and breathed life into their home.

A bright & beautiful entryway at Bestech Grand Spa

To create a warm and inviting vibe as you enter the home, Livspace designer Harshpreet Kaur has brightened the narrow entryway with pretty pendant lamps. Despite the lack of space, the well-lit hallway and textured walls make for an appealing entryway.

Where conversations flow at Bestech Grand Spa

The living room, connected to the foyer and dining room, lies at the heart of this Bestech Grand Spa home. In order to tie the house together, a rich greige (grey + beige) colour was chosen for the walls. The same colour runs from the foyer through the dining room and into the kitchen and forms the base of the colour palette of this house.

Customised wall and display cabinets complete the living room, and provide ample storage space. The white cabinet in the living room serves different functions -closed storage space, display shelves and a bar unit. In this three-in-one bar unit, you can catch a glimpse of yourself on the mirrored inlay as you grab a drink and relax.

The mostly neutral living room comes to life by the extensive use of soft furnishings. Pops of blue and yellow against a beige background makes sure that this space has high spirits!

Eating together at Bestech Grand Spa

Set against a greige (beige and grey for the uninitiated) backdrop, the dining area gets a hint of colour from the wallpaper that remains in sync with the living room. There is a 6-seater dining unit from the Livspace catalogue at the centre of the room, creating a room full of soft colours that appears open, bright and breezy.

Compact kitchen at Bestech Grand Spa

Since this #LivspaceHome had a small kitchen, it was extended into the storage unit to provide more counter-space. To the same end, Harshpreet did away with the door in favour of a semi-open L-shaped kitchen that is partially visible from outside. The grey countertop made of Kalinga stone keeps the kitchen in sync with the rest of the house, while a smooth membrane finish on the cabinet adds to the appeal of the space.

The designer added a  tall wall-mounted oven-cum-microwave unit to maximise counter space, since space optimisation was key in this compact kitchen. The civil changes made to this kitchen, combined with clever colour combinations and the appropriate placement of appliances, has made cooking in this kitchen a comfortable experience!

Sleep like royalty at Bestech Grand Spa

The master bedroom in this Bestech Grand Spa home was designed with metallic tones of gold and silver. The wooden back panelling in the bedroom has mirror designs that add to the gleaming nature of the room and augment the effect created by the mirrors above the side tables. The effect is a room that is understated yet elegant, and reflects light to create the visual impact of a larger space.

With the intention of maximising the appearance of space, Harshpreet has provided pendant lights on either side of the bed. The luxurious appearance of the bed, together with the light reflecting off multiple mirrors, fashions a room fit for royalty!

There are a pair of customised side tables on either side of the bed. A box-bed augments the storage space in the room, while the silver-coloured wardrobe with an anti-scratch acrylic finish fits into the room perfectly.

“Being used to large homes, we wanted interiors that mimic the same sense of space, while providing ample storage. Our designer Harshpreet Kaur understood our requirements and designed a home to fit them perfectly.”
Sarbjit Singh, Livspace Homeowner

Restful blues at Bestech Grand Spa

Designed for the couple’s sons who work in different cities, the bedroom is designed to look peaceful. The white brick textured wallpaper provides a perfect background for the the royal blue headboard to stand out. In order to sustain the illusion of space, this room utilises different shades of white.

As the room is not frequented by the Singh boys, it has been designed as a place of rest. However, the designer has provided a white study table that can accommodate their belongings and prove useful when they need to get some work done from home.

Cool & relaxing at Bestech Grand Spa

With the majority of the house being in neutrals, this open space was deliberately designed to be bright and vibrant. A rich shade of Prussian blue adorns the walls in this lounge. The room utilises the existing TV unit refurbished to requirements, and a pull-out sofa-cum-bed takes centre stage. While it typically serves the purpose of a place to lounge, in case there are guests who need to stay over, it can also double up as a bed.

Nature rules at Bestech Grand Spa

While the rest of the home  is largely neutral, the Singhs were open to the idea of  bright colours in the guest bedroom. A nature-inspired Krishna Mehta wallpaper sets the mood for this room. The room has been accessorised using colours from the wallpaper. This bright and colourful room encourages cheerful conversation and the flow of positive energy.

The Singhs with the designer

“The Singhs had a fair idea about what they wanted in their home in terms of colours and themes. In this home, we optimised the use of space and created interiors that were at once plush and subtle.”

A renovation interior design story awaits you at Neelkanth Valley.

neelkanth valley-grey couch designs-red armchair designs
Nice and neutral

Who livs here: Jinesh Gohil with his wife & daughter

Location: Neelkanth Valley, Ghatkopar, Mumbai

Size of home: 3BHK spanning about 1,200 sq ft

Design team: Interior Designer Kawish Khan with Project Manager Jinesh Rathod

Livspace service: Full home design & renovation

Budget: ₹₹₹₹₹

When a home has passed the test of time for 3 decades, it takes only the best hands to give it a makeover. This 3BHK at Neelkanth Valley was forged out of two separate 1BHKs some years back. When Jinesh Gohil bought this apartment in the building he grew up in, he wanted the best renovation interior design company. Our designer Kawish Khan worked with his team to redo this apartment to suit the needs of a young family.

The scope of the structural changes was enormous so he tore down walls, changed the flooring and widened the windows for a home that now looks roomy and chic. Take a tour to know how this renovation interior design was done!

A sacred beginning at Neelkanth Valley

Kawish figured that a small family of three does not need a kitchen quite as large as this apartment had. So he tore down the kitchen wall and widened the entry passage. This brightened the foyer and also allowed him to install a mandir unit here with an etched glass door. The pooja unit itself is from the Livspace catalogue and has a veneer-like laminate finish.

Neatly Neutral at Neelkanth Valley

This home originally comprised two 1BHKs and hence, the size of the living room is enviable by Mumbai standards. However, Kawish did not want to make it look cluttered so be decided not to opt for partitions. Instead, he used ceiling and wall details to segregate space.

neelkanth valley-dining table designs
Spacious living area

The living area sports a grey couch and red armchair from our catalogue. The TV unit is a custom piece with a black back-painted glass panel. But the most interesting elements here are the grooved laminate details on the wall that separates the living area from the dining space.

black tv unit designs-wall panelling designs
Sleek and simple

The dining space is marked by a strip of wooden ceiling details and spotlights. The dining set was picked from our catalogue and the crockery cabinet is a sturdy piece with laminate finish that matches the tone of the room. The highlight of this space is the swing by the window that makes an excellent reading spot.

Gracefully Grey at Neelkanth Valley

Jinesh and his wife wanted their kitchen to be a functional working space and were willing to invest for the same. Hence, Kawish went with our best high-grade quartz countertop for a smooth look. Structurally, this kitchen was designed with an eye on the future as it has more drawers than shuttered cabinets. This means that the person using the kitchen will not have to bend too many times while cooking.

The base cabinets have greyish blue laminate finish complemented by the cappuccino colour of the wall cabinets. The textured ceramic tiles of the backsplash add an instant dose of vibrance to the kitchen while fitting into the subtle colour scheme.

Pretty & Peaceful at Neelkanth Valley

The lady of the house has a penchant for purple. So Kawish used this colour for the grooved laminate-finished wall and ceiling details in the master bedroom. The modular wardrobe, with high-gloss laminate finish shutters, also has a mix of purple and white. The designer has used the passage space leading up to the washroom very smartly by installing wardrobes here. This forms something like a mini walk-in closet.

The bed, picked from our catalogue, is set against a backdrop of a laminate panel that mimics the texture of veneer. Kawish picked a deep red headboard that stands out as a pretty pop in this room. But what we love the most is the wall-to-wall window by the bed that lets in a swathe of natural light.

Cute & Cosy at Neelkanth Valley

The kid’s bedroom posed a serious design challenge for our designer because it was very compact. Kawish solved the problem by placing a sofa-cum-bed in between two single wardrobes. We like the playful effect of coloured laminate in this room and also the back-painted glass ledge by the window. But the choice of flooring is what impressed us the most! The wood-textured ceramic floor tiles add a touch of warmth to the room and are easy to walk on.

Glamorous Greys at Neelkanth Valley

The guest bedroom in this home has been designed keeping the couple’s parents in mind. Hence, the grey colour scheme is suitably subtle but does not lack elegance. The wardrobe has regular laminate finish as does the minimal TV unit. Once again, the wide windows change the entire look of this room by bathing it in sunlight!

“Jinesh had an excellent aesthetic sense that resonated with my own. So we were on the same page during the design process. This helped us bring this home from render to reality with precision.”
Kawish Khan, Interior Designer, Livspace

This SNN Raj Grandeur apartment is design goals!

A pop of colour everywhere

Who livs here: Harish Daddera with his wife Sujata and their twin children

Location: SNN Raj Grandeur, Hongasandra, Bengaluru

Size of home: A 3BHK spanning 1,600 sq ft approx.

Design team: Interior Designer Sneha LS and Project Manager Ramya Yerra

Livspace service: Full home design

Budget: ₹₹₹₹

Dressed in bold colours and glossy finishes, this 3 BHK in Bangalore at SNN Raj Grandeur will bowl you over at the first step. Hailing from Coorg, Harish and Sujata Daddera have very refined taste and they wanted every little detail to shine through at this apartment. Everything in this home is newly bought and the interiors had to match up to it. They came looking for interior designers for their dream home when they chanced upon us.

After a couple of visits to the Experience Centre and discussions with their designer, Sneha, they decided to freeze in on Livspace. Multiple interactions later, Sneha was sure of the kind of look that the couple wanted for their home. She got to designing and came up with the first draft of renders which were approved in the first go. A lot of hard work from the designer and the service partner, SK Interiors has gone into giving this home the look that it wears now. Read on.

Veneer panels and more!

The couple was sure about having a foyer at this 3 BHK in Bangalore that looks absolutely stunning. Sneha had to do something extraordinary with this space and she chose wood and laminate rafters for the ceiling and charcoal panelling for the wall. She has also given them a wall ledge with a circular backdrop to place their Ganesha idol. Patterned veneer panels with glossy PU finish lead the way to the rest of the home.

SNN Raj Grandeur: Beige Dreams

What is the most stunning feature of this living room? It is definitely the pop yellow and blue TV unit. Harish was adamant about getting a yellow backdrop for the TV unit and he picked this dark yellow high gloss laminate. The unit at the bottom sports a dark blue version of the same laminate. This unit flaunts huge niches that can be used for display and the couple loves buying new decor pieces. Another interesting element here is the laser cut panel on the false ceiling that was an idea that Harish carried back from the Experience Centre.

SNN Raj Grandeur: Dotted with Details

Sneha was determined to give the dining room at this 3 BHK in Bangalore a simple look, therefore, she opted for wooden rafters on the ceiling with pendant lights for company. The crockery unit here is not a regular one. The high gloss laminate unit borrows colour from the base of the TV unit. With full-length glass display shelves, there is no dearth of display area. The back panel also has display ledges where exclusive china can be displayed.

SNN Raj Grandeur: Enclosed in Jaali

The crockery unit has a pooja unit enclosed within it. Lovely laser cut doors open up to the pristine white pooja unit. The two-step unit has marble all over that gives it a plush look.

SNN Raj Grandeur: Ravishing in Red
Renders:

The kitchen is exactly how the initial design was presented by Sneha. Since this kitchen was supposed to be used regularly by Sujata, she wanted a functional space complete with modules that come handy on a daily basis. Red was the chosen colour for this acrylic kitchen that has a microwave unit and a tambor unit to store all the appliances. Storage consists of tandem drawers and cutlery units that are sufficient for a functional kitchen like this one.

snn-raj-grandeur-client image-Harish
SNN Raj Grandeur: Going Floral
Renders:
Reality:

Sneha picked up a floral theme for the master bedroom because she felt like it will give a nice vibe to the space. Peppy yellow flowers deck up the wall behind the Stanley bed, while one side table fills up one corner. The TV unit is of a light laminate and is a minimal one. A wall mounted dresser makes for a space-saving piece of furniture. Full size sliding wardrobes solve storage problems in this room.

SNN Raj Grandeur: A Music Lover’s Paradise
Render:
Reality:

This room belongs to the boy at home who loves cool colours like blues and greys. Sneha has given him a similar colour scheme for his room. A music-themed wallpaper for the accent wall and grey-blue sliding door wardrobes with mirror panelling in the centre are the heroes here. He also needed a compact study table so Sneha got that made in a dark laminate finish for him. If you notice carefully, there’s a walk-in space in this room that has storage for his shoes, winter-wear and so on.

SNN Raj Grandeur: Dreamy Pink Room
Renders:
Reality:

The pink and bright room is for the girl since she loves the colour and she only wanted this for her room. Sneha obliged by giving her PU finish sliding door wardrobes with a mirror panel in the centre. The study table is also a customised for her with cabinets, drawers and ledges. An Eiffel Tower-themed wallpaper adorns the wall next to her bed.

“This was one of my best projects with Livspace till date. The clients were very accommodating and gave me complete freedom to experiment. The designs were finalised in the first discussion and they were open to new ideas. I was involved in every purchase made for the home and they encouraged me to come up with innovative suggestions.”

-Sneha LS, Interior Designer, Livspace

This house makeover underwent major civil changes to get updated interiors!

A pop of freshness

Who livs here: Rajan and Namrata Naano with their two sons

Location: The Residency, Dwarka, New Delhi

Size of home: 2BHK spanning 1,000 sq ft approx

Design team: Interior designer Guneet Murugan and Project Manager Gaurav Mahajan

Livspace service: Full home design

Budget: ₹₹₹₹₹

Rajan and his wife Namrata have lived in their beloved home at the Residency, Dwarka for more than 10 years now. But their home was desperately calling for a makeover. They come across our Experience Center when they were looking for an interior designer in New Delhi and walked right in with pictures of their home. They wanted their 3BHK to get updated interiors with more breathing space. Our designer Guneet Murugan excitedly took over the mammoth house makeover task.

How did it go about? For starters, Guneet pulled down the walls of a bedroom adjacent to the living room and converted it into a family room. She stayed clear from dark colours, expanded the windows, and put in Italian stone flooring  to create a brighter look. Also, she broke down the chajja from the bedrooms and the space is larger by 2ft more! Their home is now cosy, comfy, and definitely more spacious! Let’s take a look.

Uber Comfy Living

Ample seating

The living room is decked up in soothing greys. From the tufted three-seater to two bucket sofas and the striking blue armchair, the space is all about comfort. Moreover, the recessed false ceiling with spotlights brings in a touch of warmth. For a little depth, our designer put in textured wall paint that runs as the backdrop of this room.

Notice the curtains? While the home came with recessed and arched windows and balconies, the curtains had to fit the curved alignment perfectly. As a result, Guneet had the rods and curtains specifically made to fit the windows.

A zesty family room

Rajan and Namrata call their second living room as the family room. This is where their entire family can sit comfortably, catch up and watch TV together. Moreover, we love how the pop of yellow from the sofa-cum-bed adds a peppy vibe to the room. The family space also doubles up as a guest room too. In addition, a sliding door with a wooden frame and glass panels replaced their existing door to create an airy vibe.

The TV unit with open shelves and built-in wardrobe with lofts are in dark oak membrane to give the look more depth. Wrapping up the look is the same textured wall paint from the living room.

Dine in Style
crockery-unit-spotlights-membrane
A crockery unit with spotlights

The ambience-enhancing false ceiling runs to the dining room as well. And that’s not all. Lighting plays a major role in the dining room. With two accent lights and a contemporary floor lamp, the space is alive and subtly glitzy. A minimal round glass top centres the nook with grey upholstered chairs.

Besides this is a built-in crockery unit that’s all about fine detailing. The oak membrane-finished unit features shelves at the top and handle-less drawers towards the end. Notice how it’s been fitted with spotlights to flaunt the elements within? We love all these subtle details to elevate the ambience of the room!

A classy in neutrals kitchen

Just like the rest of the home, the kitchen underwent major civil changes as well. While the earlier kitchen stood in an exhaustive U-shaped layout, the swanky new kitchen is in a parallel layout that works well with the family. The choice of high gloss laminate for the upper and lower cabinets elevate the look of the kitchen. The wall cabinets are in an elegant cappuccino hue while the base units are in pearly white. A black granite countertop seals the deal.

For additional storage, she put in a tall unit with frosted glass door and drawers of various sizes. She also put in spice pull-out, cutlery trays, and vegetable baskets.

While Guneet opened up their existing window to be larger, the whites from the floor, wall and cabinets contribute to the overall brightness of the kitchen.

Greys & Beiges for the Master Bedroom

Rajan and Namrata’s bedroom is an ode to calming neutral colours. Guneet put in a grey POP panel for the centre wall. Furthermore, it’s been fitted with a provision for LED lighting on either side. So the couple could either choose from the pendant lights or the lights from the panel for reading.

Notice how they opted out of having traditional bedside tables? Guneet put up wall-mounted drawers on either side of the bed to create a clutter-free look. This step also creates an illusion of more space. The TV unit with plenty of storage to stash magazines and knick-knacks is in a dark brown membrane. In addition, the wardrobe in the corner and the mounted drawers are in the same membrane finish. We love how the arched top balcony creates a little drama in the bedroom.

Happy blues for the son’s bedroom

There’s no second guessing about the son’s favourite colour when you walk into his bedroom. While the room is doused in happy blues, it also complements the remaining whites and greys of the space. The centre wallpaper flaunts a geometric pattern to keep the bedroom energetic. The study table is perfectly placed under a window so that he could work peacefully. The wardrobe, tv unit and study table as well are all in light oak membrane to give an illusion of a bigger space. In addition, Guneet also replaced the bedroom door with a sliding version to optimise space.

Just like the master bedroom, this room too has a balcony with an arched top, this time dressed with a flowing blue curtain.

Bright Passageway

The passageway outside the bedrooms was initially a store room that wasn’t just working out for the family. But it’s now a corridor with a tall wardrobe and a large shoe cabinet on the opposite side. Both units have been topped off in a light oak membrane to keep the space bright and clean. In addition, the wardrobe has been fitted with with an ironing station as well for optimum space utilisation.

“It was a pleasure to see the home turn around after the remodelling of spaces and finishing thereof. We managed to create a well-lit spacious looking, practical & cheerful home for Rajan Nanoo and his family to cherish. Working together, we achieved this beautiful and cosy home!”

Guneet Murugan, Interior Designer, Livspace

Take a moment to notice how a lone wood-framed mirror adds a touch of softness to the place as well. In addition, a custom-made shoe cabinet in laminate grey complements the newly done up wooden flooring.

Comfy, airy and plenty of breathing space define this living room. “Ankush and Deepshikha wanted the living to be in white and wooden tones. So it’s been designed in a breezy neutral palette,” explains Nandhakumar.

We love how there’s ample seating options without looking overwhelming. On one side, you have a beige L-shaped sofa and a coffee table with four seats neatly tucked under it. While on the other end, you have a single chair and a sleek cushioned bench under a photo gallery wall.

The couple didn’t want a bulky TV cabinet. As a result, Nandhakumar put in a low wide unit that doesn’t take a lot of space. The white laminate element adds to the vibe of the room. Also, if you look closely, you would notice a white panel behind the TV unit. It adds a touch of elegance to the space. The pop of yellow for the curtains is refreshing among neutrals. Doesn’t everything sit beautifully on the dark wooden flooring?

Statement Dining

The dining room is all about making a statement with wood. The nook flaunts a glass top table paired with six chairs. Of course, the focal point is the accent light that centres the dining nook. A rug in hues of red and brown gives the space a touch of dimension. Besides this, Nandhakumar placed a minimal wooden buffet table.

A Classy Pooja

The divine corner of this home is the very definition of elegance. Standing in a wooden tone laminate, it flaunts the same subtle floral wallpaper from the entrance as a back panel. It’s been fitted with cove lights to set the perfect ambience needed in your pooja. Featuring two drawers and a wide open shelf, the surface has been topped off with granite.

“We are very happy with our designer Nandhakumar’s work. Our home looks gorgeous! Right from the light-coloured living to our dark-hued bedroom, everything is cosy and comfortable. It looks and feels like a home now.”

We love fuss-free kitchens. And that’s exactly what this kitchen is all about. Dressed in slate grey and pristine white laminates, the open kitchen looks plush and bright. Thanks to its U-shaped layout, edge profile handles, and ample storage, the kitchen scores a perfect score in efficiency. While the countertop is in traditional granite, the backsplash flaunts light grey textured tiles.

There’s storage options all around. From the tall unit to wicker baskets and plenty of drawers, space has been optimised perfectly. The couple wanted a breakfast table as well. But Nandhakumar didn’t want them to lose all that precious space by putting a regular breakfast table. As a result, he put in a foldable option that’s paired with two bar stools.

Shades of grey for the bedroom

While the entryway and living stand brightly, the master bedroom is a different story. “We wanted a bedroom in hues of soothing grey,” reveals Deepshikha. As a result, Nandhakumar placed a subtle grey floral wallpaper for the centre wall and a darker hue for the headboard. The bedroom is the couple’s favourite part of the house.

A hydraulic bed, side tables and chest of drawers have been placed after selecting it from our catalogue. The wardrobe stands out in the same headboard colour. In addition, a lacquered glass panel runs along the centre of the wardrobe.

Notice how the flooring matches with its surroundings? This is thanks to a light grey vinyl sheet placed over the flooring.

Wooden Warmth

Something about wooden interiors always makes a space inviting and cosy. Just like this bedroom. Deepshikha’s parents room is an ode to traditional wooden interiors. From the chest of drawers to the laminate wardrobe with lofts on top and the bed itself, everything is in a beautiful dark wooden tone. Moreover, the flooring has been done up in the same dark hue to match with its surroundings. We love how the pop of yellow for the curtain enhances the vibe of this room.

A Reader’s Favourite Nook

A massive bookshelf any reader would love
top-interior-designers-in-bangalore-wooden-bookshelf-study-room-armchair

Who wouldn’t want to sit back in this powder blue armchair and snuggle with a book? Being an ardent reader, Deepshikha loves spending time in the study. Of course, the highlight of the study is the floor-to-ceiling shelf that can house pretty much anything. Flaunting plenty of open shelves to stack books and collectibles, the unit also features drawers as a storage option. On one end, you have a worktop where you can comfortably do your things. And, on the other end, Nandhakumar crafted the right space for the couple to fit an existing wardrobe.

Because the flooring has been done in carpet, the couple can even prop on the ground with a book or a hot cuppa.

From a designer’s point of view, this was a dream project. I was given complete freedom to experiment with designs and it was an absolute pleasure working with Ankush and Deepshikha.”

A house kitchen design that’s big on functionality!

Sophistication meets minimalism

Who livs here: Bhakti and Puja Vanjari and their mother
Location: Vile Parle East, Mumbai
Size of kitchen: 160 sq. ft

Sometimes, even new homes do not meet your exact requirements, and kitchens can be especially tricky. Such was the case of the Vanjaris, a Maharashtrian family residing in Vile Parle East, Mumbai. The family comprising an elderly mother and her two daughters, Bhakti and Puja, approached Livspace to revamp their existing kitchen. As the ladies sought a monochrome kitchen with pretty tiles, a false ceiling and effective plumbing, Livspace designer Rishabh Shah provided them with a house kitchen design that was aesthetically appealing as well as thoroughly functional.

House Kitchen Design: A Prayerful Corner

Because food is devotion

In their #LivspaceKitchen, the Vanjaris wanted a temple space to place their ancestral mandir, which was duly provided over a pair of tall units. To acheive this, the rest of the kitchen was planned to emphasise the mandir.

House Kitchen Design: Contemporary Charm

The Vanjaris sought a kitchen that would not look too modern, but be extremely functional. Rishabh suggested a champagne colour scheme. So, black was used as a pop shade to bring life into their kitchen in keeping with the original black granite countertop. The open units also use black as the base colour, brightening the kitchen.

The high-gloss laminate finish on the cabinets add to the contemporary feel of the kitchen. In order to add some rustic charm to the kitchen, a beige backsplash was chosen in with patterns reminiscent of an older era. The colour syncs with the champagne kitchen and adds to its beauty.

House Kitchen Design: Optimising Storage

The house kitchen design maximises storage space. The design of the kitchen is such that it optimises available space. Unlike most Mumbai kitchens, this kitchen has two three-tier spice pull-outs under the hob. Further, two customised wicker baskets allow the family the store fresh groceries. The kitchen also includes two thali (plate) racks to store the large Maharashtrian thalis for this household.

Further, the mid-tall unit under the mandir serves as a place to keep goods from around the house, including mattresses and other household goods. Thus, a versatile range of storage is the underlying feature of this kitchen.

House Kitchen Design: Pretty Symmetry

As symmetry was of essence for Rishabh, he ensured that the tambol unit, cutlery unit and open unit in this kitchen have the same height. Frosted glass shutters of the  overhead units add depth to the space, while a set of wall cabinets increase storage space while being easy on the eyes.

House Kitchen Design Bonus: A Picturesque Living Room

The Vanjaris also purchased living room furniture from the Livspace catalogue. Watch out for the beautiful printed sofa and the complementary ottomans that make their living room appear warm and inviting!

Smart & seamless kitchen

“As a typical Maharashtrian family, the Vanjaris sought a kitchen that would not be too modern. They wanted it to fit in with the rest of the house and have easily accessible storage. With their specific requirements and acceptance of ideas, they were a pleasure to design for!”

This Rajapushpa Atria apartment has amazing space optimisation

Who livs here: Harshita & Rohit

Location: Rajapushpa Atria, Kokapet, Hyderabad

Size of home: 3BHK spanning 1,975 sq. ft

Design team: Interior designer Monica Reddy with Project Manager Shanawaz Khan

Livspace service: Kitchen, wardrobes, storage units, feature walls and false ceiling

Budget: ₹₹₹₹₹

An apartment becomes a home only when it answers to all your whims and fancies. Harshita and Rohit, who are first time homeowners, had quite a few of these! So they reached out to us and our designer Monica Reddy transformed their 3BHK at Rajapushpa Atria in a home. Needless to say that they got the best interiors in Hyderabad for their spacious 3BHK that has functional storage options and some frills for visual interest.

Take a sneak peek into this neatly designed home if you aspire to get the best interiors in Hyderabad.

Three-in-one at Rajapushpa Atria

Harshita and Rohit had a very special requirement for their living area; they wanted it to be split in three! Usually, the living room is segregated into seating and dining zones. But this young couple wanted to have a drawing zone, where guests could be seated when they entered, along with a dining space and living area where the TV unit would be placed.

Monica solved this problem with some ingenious space optimisation tricks. To segregate the drawing and dining space, she has used a low-height laminate crockery unit from the Livspace catalogue. The veneer panel around this unit is a customised piece of work but it blends in seamlessly. The pendant lights over the crockery unit quirk up the space quite nicely.

The seating area is a mix of contemporary and ethnic features, and we love the veneer panelling behind the sofa with the sconces on either side.

The main highlight of the living zone is the entertainment unit with a veneer back panel. This custom piece matches the wooden ceiling details and lends a thread of continuity to the design.

Feature Walls at Rajapushpa Atria

While Harshita and Rohit intended to have functional home, they were keen on having some feature walls in the living room. From a design perspective, this allowed Monica to segregate the spaces in an unassuming manner. We see the first feature wall as soon as we enter through the main entrance. It created visual interest with a mix of veneer as well as mirror panelling, and it also happens to be Harshita’s favourite design element in this house. The other feature wall is seen in the dining space. This too is a combination of veneer and mirror with a storage unit and ledge for texture.

A visual treat
What’s Cooking at Rajapushpa Atria

The kitchen in this home is rather compact, so Harshita wanted a colour scheme that would open up the space. Monica suggested a grey and white palette that has worked splendidly for this kitchen. The cabinets have a grey acrylic finish that gives them a sophisticated look. Also, acrylic is much easier to clean than laminate or membrane finish. The backsplash comprises statuario tiles that is basically a marble look-alike. But they are much more affordable than marble.

“Our designer Monica was our single point of contact during the design and installation process. And she did a very good job of coordinating on our behalf. We are pleased with the way our home has turned out as Monica has ensured that we get everything that we signed up for!
Harshita & Rohit, Livspace Homeowners

Walk in to Elegance at Rajapushpa Atria

Harshita and Rohit decided to hold on to their existing furniture for the bedrooms and invest in a walk-in closet instead. In their master bedroom, we see a full-fledged walk-in wardrobe with frosted glass shutters; not a very common sight in Indian homes! The glass shutters add depth to the dressing area and the floor-to-ceiling wardrobes make the best possible use of space. Apart from the wardrobe, Monica has provided a TV cabinet with veneer panelling in this bedroom that mimics the style of the entertainment unit in the living room.

Mix & Match at Rajapushpa Atria

As this home is for a young couple, both the remaining bedrooms are designed for guests. One of the bedrooms has a rich blue coloured wardrobe in membrane finish interspersed with walnut brown. The other bedroom is furnished with a grey and white wardrobe in laminate finish.

“Rohit & Harshita were one of the most joyful couples that I have worked with. We steered through the functional aspects of the design more than anything else. It was great working with them since they were very accommodating and placed their complete trust in me.”

This Mahagun Mywoods home is stylish & full of colours!

A dark sunshine colour welcomes you!

Who livs here: Mr. & Mrs. Srivastava and their son

Location: Magnolia, Mahagun Mywoods, Noida

Size of home: A 3BHK spanning 1,545 sq ft approx.

Design team: Interior Designer Mridul Jain and Project Manager Sandeep Jain

Livspace service: Full home design

Budget: ₹₹₹₹₹

Sometimes our fast-paced life gets so busy that we fall short of time to work on certain things that we really want. Mr. & Mrs. Srivastava are a working couple in Noida, who wanted to design their dream home. They knew that they do not have a lot of time in their daily lives, thus, their home had to be high on functionality and low on maintenance.

This couple, who were previously residing in Malviya Nagar, bought their own home at Mahagun Mywoods in Noida. When they came to our Livspace Noida Experience Center, they immediately built a rapport with our designer Manpreet Kaur and later on with Mridul Jain as well. The brief was simple – functional interiors that suit their lifestyle and does not burn a hole in their pockets. Mrs. Srivastava loves bright colours and she got to take most of the decisions, but the home looks like a perfect combination of colour, design and aesthetics. Read on to find out how it all took shape.

Mahagun Mywoods: A Bright Welcome

Simple entryway

It’s always a great idea to walk into a home that welcomes you with a splash of colour. The foyer at this 3BHK in Mahagun Mywoods has a simple yet striking design. On one side you can see a simple round-shaped mirror sitting pretty atop a minimal wall ledge. While the opposite wall sports a nice shade of orange that is going to be filled with family photographs.

Mahagun Mywoods: Cosy Spaces

Living rooms – the space that is the centre of all the action in most get-togethers. This home has been designed with a striking concept. Mridul has painted one wall in a blazing orange colour and that is the only colour in this room. Complementing the wall are sofas in grey and an accent chair upholstered in a printed fabric. You can also spot wooden rafters on the false ceiling and an exposed brick wallpaper on the TV unit wall, an idea that the couple picked up from our Experience Center. Also, the TV unit is made of laminate and has storage space for essentials.

Mahagun Mywoods: Effortless Style

Simple & cosy dining

The dining space at this 3BHK is not a separate room. It is accommodated in the living room and the only highlight are the trims on the white walls next to it. The seating consists of a mix of chairs and a bench that makes space for extra people.

Mahagun Mywoods: Wall-mounted Pooja

Vastu approved

The pooja corner in this 3BHK is not just space efficient, but also vastu compliant. A jaali divider separates this laminate unit from the rest of the living room. To save floor space and obstruction, Mridul has designed given them a wall mounted drawer and wooden ledges. If you look carefully, you will notice that it takes the shape of mandir.

“We had numerous interactive sessions with Manpreet Kaur and Mridul Jain, our designers, who were extremely helpful. I personally love the modular kitchen that has been designed with great quality materials. I am completely satisfied with the quality of products and service provided by Livspace. It is a very well executed project and my home was delivered to me on time. We would definitely recommend Livspace to our friends and family for their interiors.”

-Mrs. Srivastava, Livspace Homeowner

Mahagun Mywoods: Subtle in Grey

What is the first thing that you notice about this laminate kitchen? Is it the subtle colour combination? Or is it the abundant storage? For us, it is the designer tiles that adorn the backsplash. This is something that the couple has splurged on, since they wanted that one ‘wow’ factor in their kitchen. The rest of the kitchen wears a simple look, with grey and white cabinets that have sleek steel handles. This kitchen is mostly used by Mrs. Srivastava and she wanted it to be as functional and low maintenance as possible. Therefore, Mridul has given her a granite countertop that can be swiped clean with a washcloth.

Mahagun Mywoods: Simplicity Defined

Although Mrs. Srivastava loves bright colours, their master bedroom at this Mahagun Mywoods apartment is as soothing as it can get. The headboard wall sports POP panels with blue texture paint in the centre. This compact space accommodates a study table, side table, wardrobe, dresser and so much more. Mrs. Srivastava wanted a full length mirror in the bedroom and Mridul gave her cabinets and shelves next to it to make it more convenient. Simple swing door laminate wardrobes with lofts take care of storage worries.

Mahagun Mywoods: Bright and cute

The naughty kid at home owns the brightest room. And obviously we are not complaining. A red and white colour scheme is used for this room and Mridul has also given a customised bed to the kid. An elaborate study unit complete with cabinets, shelves and drawers is appropriate for a growing kid. One wall also looks like a chalkboard, with heartbeat-like shelves in bright red that acts as a bookshelf.

“I really enjoyed working on this project since the clients are a young couple and they gave me complete freedom to design and experiment. The decision-making was very quick and efficient because of limited back and forth. It is always amazing to work with such clients!”

-Mridul Jain, Interior Designer, Livspace

7 Painting Ideas for Diwali-ready Walls

$

Wall paints serve various purposes in a home; they help maintain the strength of the walls, brighten up the space and act as statement pieces. Designers also reveal a simple wall makeover can separate zones within the same space in your home. This is particularly relevant for small rooms and spaces.

As you prep your homes for Diwali, we bring you painting ideas for an abridged and functional makeover for your home, one wall at a time.

Wall Painting Ideas #1: Accent Wall
painting ideas-accent wall-bedroom-chairs-bedroom lighting
Rich Marcela for a regal space

A colour as rich as Marcela, (which is also the Asian Paints colour of 2019, read here) deserves your undivided attention. Such deep and vibrant shades need no further ornamentation; the colour is a statement by virtue of its brilliance. Its best to leave accent walls bare and let the richness of the shade speak for itself.

Wall Painting Ideas #2: Adding Texture
painting ideas-pastel accent wall-textured paint-bedroom-headboard-white cabinets-sea green room
Textured pastels for a soothing room

When a room looks flat or lacks character, plain wall paint may not do the trick. In such cases, you need textured paint or wall panelling. Texture on a wall is like features on a face, it adds a distinct personality to the space, which becomes the focal point of a room.

Wall Painting Ideas #3: Demarcating Adjacent Zones
painting ideas-adjacent zones-blue accent wall-blue couch-side tables
Wall colours to demarcate spaces

Space crunch is quite a common challenge in urban homes, and it has a classic solution: multi-functional rooms. A room with multiple functions works best when you have designated areas for each function such as sleeping, seating, dining and reading. Wall paint can be used to create zones adjacent to each other for each function. In this Livspace home, the reading area has been separated from the living room using turquoise wall paint and wooden flooring.

Wall Painting Ideas #4: Gallery Wall
painting ideas-gallery wall-photographs-white couch
Peppy background to showcase your memories

A solid highlight colour works best for a gallery wall that is narrow. You can experiment with deeper shades like crimson or teal when space is limited. For wider gallery walls, stick with pastels or muted shades. The choice of wall colour is also subject to the type of photographs being displayed and the frames used for the same. For example, if the photographs are monochromatic, a lighter shade of wall paint must be used.

Wall Painting Ideas #5: Happy Highlights
Painting ideas-bedroom accent wall-wooden cabinets
Give your room a pop of colour

While white is a great colour for walls, in the absence of abundant natural light, white rooms tend to look dull. A peppy colour like tangerine or yellow would give the room an instant facelift in such situations. On the other hand, cool colours like greens and blues make for soothing spaces. Happy colours infuse energy into a space that changes the entire vibe of the room. The highlighted wall can be used as backdrop for open ledges in contrasting colours, photo frames, book shelves or console tables.

Wall Painting Ideas #6: Setting the Mood
painting ideas-yellow balcony-swing-balcony furniture
Warm yellows for a cozy space

Colours have a profound effect on our mood. Flaming red stokes hunger while green soothes the eyes. A happy yellow or orange peps up our moods. Designers reveal blues and greens work well for bedrooms as they have a calming effect on our moods. This happening yellow is a great pick for a balcony that is also a chill zone with comfy chairs and a sleek swing!

Wall Painting Ideas #7: Creating Themes
wall themes-study room-ballerina silhouette
Theme-specific paints define your room

Themes are usually used to decorate either kids rooms or hobby rooms. In such scenarios, wall paints can help you state the purpose of a room without much ado. The silhouette of a ballerina on the wall is a clear indication that the room belongs to someone who loves dance. It could also be a studio for practicing ballet.

The above wall painting ideas can be used to designate specific areas in a house without creating clutter. Also, keep in mind that paint colours must complement the overall look and feel of the room and the furniture in it.

Wall Painting Ideas Bonus: Quirky Ceilings
celining colour-yellow ceiling-wallpaper-bedroom-grey couch
Look up for a Surprise

With all the colours and themes being explored for your home walls, why should ceilings remain plain and boring? Splash a bright shade like yellow or orange across your ceiling, and feel the sunshine cheering you up!

Luxury and class are always the go-to style when it comes to timeless interior design. Decked in warm gold and plenty of bright colours, this 4BHK at Pioneer Presidia, Gurgaon is simply beautiful. This palatial home is owned by Sarita Chand and her husband and they have two adorable daughters.

Sarita was sure that every nook and corner of the home had to have character and class. It’s safe to say, Livspace designer, Urvija Kotak designed this home with impeccable taste that definitely lives up to the hype. Above all, she made sure to fulfill all their aesthetic and functional requirements to-a-t. Read on to find out how.

pioneer presidia-infobox
Pioneer Presidia: A Grand Welcome

Entering this home, you are welcomed by a grand entryway. At first glance, you can see the elegant couple’s personality extends to their home decor choices. The entryway walls are dressed in metallic gold textured wallpaper with plenty of scope for the clients to adorn the walls with paintings and console tables. Finally, your attention is immediately drawn to the eye-catching jaali panel. This is used innovatively to tuck away the circuit box, adding to the foyer’s allure.

The foyer opens up to a bright living room with a rich blue sofa set and a floral accent chair from the Livspace catalogue. In addition to this space being illuminated with natural sunlight, it is accentuated with the two mirror panels. Besides, the treatment used in the living room walls goes with the warm gold theme of the entryway. However, unlike the wallpaper in the foyer, the living room has textured paint for a dash of grandeur.

Pioneer Presidia: Dine Like Royalty

The foyer is separated from the dining room by a Livspace catalogue find. The wooden separator acts as a partition as well as a display unit. We love how the nook looks like an epitome of class!

Subseqently, the marble top table and winged-back chairs only add to the essence, not to mention the classic egg shell white colour theme. Adding a slightest bit of colour here is the beige-toned wallpaper.

Pioneer Presidia: Kitchen of your dreams

The kitchen has a stunning combination of dark colours and bright patterns. The wall and base cabinets are in a sleek and glossy acrylic finish. Therefore, the grey metallic colour of the cabinets go perfectly with the quirky Moroccan tiles for the backsplash. Consequently, Urvija suggested that the long and sizable kitchen can accommodate a delightful breakfast table.

With the black and white Moroccan tiles, the wallpaper is in a fun brick wall design. This corner is the best way to start your day. Furthermore, a noteworthy mention is the kitchen flooring. The unique tiles used here give the appearance of wooden flooring.

Pioneer Presidia: Cosy entertainment room

Urvija redesigned the original 5BHK into four bedrooms and an entertainment room. In addition to the floral wallpaper, there is a beaming mustard yellow ceiling making this room cosy and bright. However, the couple made good use of their sofa set from their previous home by placing it here. Moreover, making this room warmer are two classic pendant lights and wall sconces.

Pioneer Presidia: King-size master bedroom

With a great deal of insights from Sarita’s husband, the master bedroom was designed in an elegant grey and white theme. The couple specifically wanted a custom-made bed with a full height headboard. Furthermore, adding to its lavish style are two mirror panels on either side of the bed.

The sliding laminate wardrobes are in a stunning champagne colour and can be found in the catalogue. Besides, the bedroom lives up to its sophisticated theme, making it the ideal room for a good night’s sleep.

Pioneer Presidia: Colourful kid’s room

Sarita and Urvija agreed that the kid’s room should be as lively as them. With the pink and floral designs taking the forefront, the storage cabinets are in white whereas, the wardrobe is in a coral pink. Consequently, the rich pink headboard matches the floral wallpaper and the side tables are converted to study tables for the girls to catch up on their school work.

Pioneer Presidia: Restful Guest Room

This contemporary bedroom is designed specially for Sarita’s visiting parents. Subsequently, what pulls this room together is the plush headboard in a beautiful shade of pink that matches the pink and white motif wallpaper perfectly. Moreover, the storage bed is custom made to satisfy a certain height requirement for their parents. However, Urvija made great use of the space below the TV by creating a multipurpose dresser and TV unit. Using cabinets in a subtle rose gold shade and budgeted pull out handles.

Pioneer Presidia: Plush guest room

The guest room is definitely styled to lift spirits. The couple retained their old bed and the rest of the room is designed around it. The bright blue wall paint is in contrast with the brown bed, yet it makes a striking colour combination.

“Working with Sarita and her husband was delightful. We discussed various design ideas and kept the dialogue open for more innovative ideas. What made the design process easier was that everyone was on the same page and had the same vision.”

The living area in this spacious 4BHK is a riot of colours. On one side, there is aqua blue 3-seater sofa from the Livspace catalogue. Facing the sofa are two comfy armchairs that sport contemporary prints. By the French windows, there is a crimsom tufted ottoman that stands out. To balance out the deluge of colours, there is a rather utilitarian centre table with a metal base and dark wood top.

The corner is highlighting by a quaint cluster of golden pendant lights that hang over a daintily rounded side table. Consequently, the living area is covered in textured metallic grey paint with golden stripes.

The defining theme of the living room is an aquarium, a prized possession for the family. Thus, the living room has been designed in such a way that the aquarium gets a central position and maximum visibility. Hence, contemporary display unit from our catalogue, made of MDF, is placed adjacent to the living area. It holds this aquarium along with other collectibles.

A rather dramatic partition segregates the dining area from the living. This monochromatic partition has a rose gold frame fitted with lacquered glass, duco paint and laminate. The design and colours of this piece have been borrowed from the bar unit in the dining area. The metal frame is an attempt to maintain continuity as it mimics the display unit in the living area. The dining set has four chairs and a bench that were picked from our catalogue.

The monochrome magic spills over into the passage adjoining the dining area as well. A crockery cabinet has been cast into a niche here, and it makes use of black and white laminate finish for a checquered look. Profile lighting has added an interesting edge to this corridor.

The master bedroom has copious amounts of browns and yet it does not get monotonous because Sushant has added plenty of texture.

The bed, which is from our catalogue, has a leatherette headboard. Consequently, the same brown has been used as a tint in the mirror panels next to the bed. Moreover, the brown tinted mirror panels are glammed up by rustic pendant lights. The wallpaper behind the bed has abstract patterns using gradients of beige, brown and white.

The orange tufted armchair is the only element that pops in this room. The lone chair adds a dash of energy to the otherwise muted shades of this space.

Meanwhile, the media wall in this room is a simple affair with a grey laminate panel. Eventually, it spills over into a small study table that has been furnished with a working chair.

Best Interior Designers in Gurgaon Design: Boisterous Blue Bedroom

Bright blues dominate the colour scheme in this room

As one of the best interior designers in Gurgaon, Sushant has designed the kid’s room with panache. Moreover, the teenage son of the Aroras has one of the best rooms in this home to himself. Thankfully, the boisterous blues in this room are ideal for a spirited young boy. The bed has a symmetrical deep blue headboard. We love the ladder unit in the corner and the shelf just above the bed that is stacked with books.

The five-door wardrobe in the room has lofts and usual profile handles. The powder blue membrane finish of this cabinet adds both texture and depth to the colour palate of this room.

The study table and cushioned bay seating are the edgy elements in this kid’s room. Furthermore, the bay seat by the window is actually a cushioned bench that also has storage counters for shoes.

The blue and white study unit has an angular presence due to its slanting ramps. All in all, this room is full of ‘oomph’ and its quirkiness is endearing.

The entertainment room in this home is a plush setup with two super cosy recliners in tan leatherette. But the main feature in this room is the display-cum-entertainment unit, which is a potpourri of materials and finishes. Moreover, the frame is MDF and its joints have been painted with Duco paint to give it a smooth look. Moreover, the bright yellow shutters are laminate and the shutters of the base unit are black lacquered glass.

The newsprint wallpaper adds an edge to this entertainment room

Consequently, the vibrant yellow of the display unit is toned down by the subtle newsprint wallpaper behind the recliners. MDF frame and wooden top was used for the centre table . Besides, this room also has a floating work desk so that family can enjoy quality time together even as they check their mail or finish some work on their laptops.

Best Interior Designers in Gurgaon Design: Ethereal White Pooja Counter
pooja room designs-white pooja rooms-pooja rooms with jaali
A compact pooja unit has been fitted into the guest bedroom

However, the family did not want a very elaborate pooja unit, so Sushant installed a compact one in the guest bedroom. This is a typical Indian pooja unit with a latticed jaali. Moreover, it has an interesting back-lit light source and drawers for storage. This room also flaunts a fancy moulded wall with gold trimmings.

“The family was very friendly and open to suggestions, making it very easy to work with them. They did not have mind blocks about using any type of colours or designs, so I could experiment with a variety of colour schemes, materials and finishes. In the end, I could deliver a vibrant home just as they wanted it to be.”

Who livs here: Kiran and Prajakta Kulkarni with their daughter Ritu, son Rudra and dogess Nikki

Location: Nellai Heights, Chembur East, Mumbai

Size of home: 3BHK spanning 1,100 sq ft

Design Team: Interior Designer Ar. Yasin Shaikh and Design Manager Supreet Nanda

It takes an intelligent mind to create a fusion of different styles that work well together. Take this Mumbai home for example, featuring a happy marriage of contemporary and traditional design elements.

When Kiran and Prajakta Kulkarni finally brought their dream home in Chembur, they were unsure of what would be the best way to design it because they loved different styles. So when our designer Yasin Shaikh suggested a confluence of styles for their home interiors, they readily agreed! Yasin also ensured there was a sense of continuity and order throughout the house to complement the personalities of the lawyer duo. Take a tour to see how the process of designing worked out for this roomy 3BHK.

Home Interior Ideas: A Tale of Transitional Style

Modern furniture meets ethnic decor

The living room of the Kulkarnis is a crucible of design elements. While the seating options, including the ottomans, are kept neutral, the side tables and coffee table are in teak wood. These add vintage-esque charm to the space.

The wall panel behind the TV is veneer, which coupled with the modular cabinet under it, is minimal in essence. The metallic pendant light in the corner is rather retro in style.

The black powder painted MS partition is the first thing you see when entering this home. It borders the shoe cabinet forming a foyer. The piece mimics traditional jaali partitions.

The dining set has a mid-century modern vibe that is bare but beautiful. The addition of the bench to this 8-seater adds a contemporary edge to the set. Functionally, a bench offers more seating options as the Kulkarnis host guests regularly. The cutlery cabinet is crafted with colonial nostalgia and thus, the living room remains faithfully fusion in style!

Despite the blending of styles, the designer has ensured certain elements of continuity in design. For instance, solid wood furniture has been used throughout. Also, the Tibetan artwork on the walls include paintings of a single location from different perspectives. All the different styles blend seamlessly against the backdrop of traditional white and happy mustard yellow walls.

“Our interior designer Yasin was always accessible to us while the project was underway and understood our unique design requirements. He even helped us pick out artwork to add the finishing touches to our home.”

Home Interior Ideas: Wholesome Hearth

The kitchen is a parallel stretch with cabinets that have high-gloss laminate finish. The modular cabinets are an amalgam of wall, loft and base units. The upper cabinets are champagne-coloured to make the space look brighter. But to keep the kitchen low maintenance, Mrs. Kulkarni opted for slate-coloured base cabinets. The backsplash is highlighted by tiles with rustic patterns.

Home Interior Ideas: Alcove of Accents

A touch of blue

The master bedroom, like the living area, has mixed and matched design elements. The bed is a solid wood piece from our catalogue as are the side tables. Take a moment to notice the retro pendant lights that add spunk to the otherwise classic setup. The three accent chairs in the room (one blue and two red) are also catalogue items that have a contemporary look. The work table in the corner is of proper height for working on a laptop. The profile-lit shelf next to it has a brilliant blue laminate backsplash highlighting it.

The L-shaped beam of the false ceiling has an interesting back story. This space adjacent to the window was originally a balcony. However, the interior designer Yasin, who is also a qualified architect, suggested extending the room by taking up the balcony. The difference in ceiling height is concealed by the false ceiling and dressed with spot lights.

The wallpaper in the kid’s bedroom has an abstract distorted map motif that casts a bohemian spell over the room. The solid wood bed and side tables are quite elegant. Despite the difference in design styles, the furniture and wallpaper merge into an organic whole in this room.

Home Interior Ideas: The Study Room

Unique partitions

The third bedroom that is used as guest room as well as office by the Kulkarnis has been partially designed by Livspace. A black MDF partition similar to the one in the living room separates the pooja niche from the rest of the room. Wall-mounted book shelves and a sofa-cum-bed from our catalogue are included in this part of the room. There is also a cabinet from our modular storage range in this room.

“Working with the Kulkarnis was rewarding as a designer because they gave me a fair amount of creative license. They were also quick to decide what they wanted for their home and never dallied on their decisions. This expedited the design process.”

Tucked into a buzzing pocket of Electronic City, SNN Raj Greenbay is a quaint apartment with state-of-the-art facilities. No wonder the working Gen wants to retire into their cosy homes here, after a hectic day at work. When Madhumita and her husband Sri Harsha decided to get the interiors done for their 3BHK, there were just two concerns – a quick turn-around and remote involvement. After a couple of visits to our Experience Centre on Lavelle Road, they were convinced that Livspace was the design partner they needed.

When the couple met their designer Sangeetha, their requirements were clear — minimal design, simple colours and a striking kitchen. Minimalists by nature, they believe in simple, uncluttered living that also reflects in their home interiors. Read on to find out how their home came together with Livspace taking the lead.

The most striking space at this 3BHK in Bangalore is definitely the kitchen. A combination of laminate and membrane finish shutters look like a match made in heaven. It makes the kitchen look stunning without causing a dent in the budget. We absolutely love the navy blue base shutters and the Morrocan tiles in the backsplash. Modules like drawers, pull-outs, Tambour unit, wall luzy corner unit and more make this space highly functional.

“We came to Livspace because both of us are working professionals and we wanted to get our interiors done with minimum involvement. With our busy schedules, we realised that Livspace is the only place where we do not have to worry about anything, since they take care of everything.

What we loved about Livspace is that they are very forthcoming and the quality of their products is really good. Sangeetha, our designer, was very prompt and the fact that we were shown renders of the designs made it easy for us to make decisions. It was a great experience with Livspace.”

Interior Design Bangalore: Soothing Blues for the Master Bedroom

The only pop colours that you find at this 3BHK in Bangalore are in the master bedroom. Both Madhumita and Sri Harsha wanted something unique in their bedroom and that’s why they chose this striking blue colour for the accent wall. A grey wall next to it neutralises things out. Also, do not miss out the smooth membrane finish wardrobes in navy blue that have a black lacquered glass panel running in the centre. This sliding door wonder packs a punch!

The guest bedroom wears a rather simple look and Sangeetha has added a dark laminate wardrobe here. Making things easy and functional are the swing door shutters and lofts with sleek handles.

Interior Design Bangalore: Leisure & Work

The study room has a unique design and would entice you to sit and relax here. With a storage-cum-seat next to the window and a subtle wallpaper behind it, this zone is perfect for the couple to work and read. The cute and compact study table with wall ledges complete the look of this room.

“The execution of this project has been impeccable and it’s been a delight to see it take shape. Every room has been designed keeping a certain colour scheme in mind and the furnishings have enhanced the look of the entire home.”

This Jal Vayu Vihar home is spacious and breezy!

Who livs here: Ashutosh Upadhyay with his wife Kakul and their two daughters

Location: Jal Vayu Vihar, Noida

Size of home: 1,700 sq ft approx.

Design team: Interior Designer Bhanu Mittal and Project Manager Vishul Chandra Saxena

Livspace service: Full home design

Budget: ₹₹₹₹

Raise your hand if you love a well-ventilated and bright home. You will be pleased to know this home tour is all things bright and summery. This colourful home belongs to Ashutosh and Kakul, a working couple with two daughters. They wanted a home design with their stamp on it without spending exorbitantly. Livspace designer Bhanu Mittal has creatively done just that!

Bhanu started off with a perfectly blank canvas of an outdated home and transformed it into a warm and contemporary home for a close-knit family. Moreover, after breaking down walls, installing new windows and flooring, and a lot of civil work, this home has truly become a masterpiece. Read on to find out how this home came to life.

A Jal Vayu Vihar Lively Living Room

As you enter the home, you witness a spectrum of colours that will instantly lift your spirits. Consequently, with textured wall paint in a radiant shade of yellow, this room is sure to grab your attention. Complementing this accent wall are walls in classic white that reflect sunlight, making the room bright and beautiful.

The vibrancy comes from furniture like the rich blue sofas and tangerine winged chairs picked out from the Livspace catalogue. Bhanu made the most of an empty corner and added a three layered pendant light, making it the perfect spot to cosy up with a book.

A Jal Vayu Vihar Delightful Dining Room

In a snug corner of the living room is a stunning dining table. As a working couple, Ashutosh and Kakul treasure dinner time with their daughters. Hence, they were certain that the dining room should be cheerful and homely. Keeping this in mind, Bhanu designed this space with plenty of comfortable seating and an elegant wooden table.

Besides, adding a touch a sass is the pink bench. Adjacent to the dining table is a custom-made wooden crockery-cum-storage unit with an attached bar unit adding to the warmth of the space.

A Jal Vayu Vihar Blissful Bedroom

This master bedroom has been done up in a serene shade of greyish blue, thereby making this room ideal for a restful night’s sleep. Adding warmth is the abundant use of oak wood in the flooring and bed. In addition, the icing on the cake is perhaps the pre-laminated wardrobes in a rich shade of cherry red, adding just the right amount of pop.

A Jal Vayu Vihar Gleeful Kid’s Room

Their daughters’ bedroom has been designed in a soothing shade of green, as you can see. Bhanu and her team have redone the flooring in wooden laminate to give this room a complete overhaul. As is the case in most homes, the girls required ample lighting and a quiet space to study. Therefore, two study tables and a false ceiling with plenty of lights were installed. In addition to this, floating shelves were placed on the walls for their books. Added to the milieu are pre-laminated wardrobes in a tasteful grey, giving this room a substantial amount of storage.

“Ashutosh and Kakul were hands-on throughout the process of designing their home. Their insights and clear vision were of great help. To top it off, they were accommodating of all my ideas and let me experiment with many colours”.
Bhanu Mittal, Interior Designer, Livspace

Cosy 2BHK Goes Big on Style

Interiors in Mumbai with a pretty mix of urban chic elements!

Welcome to this pastel wonder

Who livs here: Ashish Joshi, his wife Shreya and their two daughters
Location: Adarshlok CHS, Goregaon West, Mumbai
Size of home: 2BHK spanning 1,110 sq ft
Design team: Interior designer Ritika Parab
Livspace service: Full home design
Budget: ₹₹₹₹₹

It’s easy to recognise an artist’s home. The colours and its unique sense of style are easy giveaways. Just like Ashish and Shreya Joshi’s new address at Kabra Adarshlok, Mumbai. While Shreya wanted interiors with artistic touches, Ashish wanted to stir away from neutrals and whites. When they met with our designer Ritika Parab, they built a rapport almost instantly, thanks to a similar taste in style.

Right from the entrance to the bedrooms, this 2BHK is dressed in gorgeous hues, accent elements and lots of swag. We love all the vintage touches as well! Let’s take a peek!

Through a blue dream

The main door stands in a gorgeous royal blue coat of paint. A name plate in the same hue is mounted on the wall too. We love how these artsy elements creates the ambience the family was exactly looking for. When walking into the home, a distressed console table catches your eye which perfectly complements the focal point of the room – the Buddha painting by Shreya. The white exposed brick walls adds a rustic vibe as well.

A touch of vintage for the living room

The living room scores on urban chic flaunting pops of contrasts and comfy seating options. In fact, we find it hard to pick our favourite element! From the distressed jhoola in front of the balcony to the vintage TV unit with antique handles, there’s a plethora of pretty things. The extreme end of the TV cabinet also features a pooja unit. In addition, the tan tufted leather sofa, gushing red armchair and teal coffee table all perfectly complement each other.

“Our home is exactly how we pictured it to be. We are very impressed with how our designer Ritika translated our ideas into a reality. From the colours to the furniture, everything is just perfect.”

Ashish Joshi, Livspace Homeowner

Warm Dining
Interiors-in-Mumbai-dining-room-wooden
A lone pendant light for the dining nook

Cosy dining and conversations? Yes, please! The dining nook with completely refurbished wooden chairs is tucked into a corner of the room. While the mirror panel wall helps to create an illusion of space, the exposed brick wall makes for a pretty backdrop. We love the minimal pendant light addition as well!

Artsy Kitchen

Interiors in Mumbai are particularly partial to keeping things intriguing. It runs through even in Ashish and Shreya’s kitchen. The kitchen starts with a unique open entrance in white brick tiles and a thick veneer strip along its borders. The happy kitchen is dressed with patterned ceramic tiles for the floor. We love the combination of white and blue membrane as well. Notice the handles? These lovely fittings have been picked up from a local store. In addition, profile lighting helps to brighten the kitchen.

For extra bit of storage, Ritika put in lofts, a wicker basket and an open shelf below one side of the upper cabinets.

Pastel Dreams

We love dreamy bedrooms. Shreya too! Their master bedroom is an ode to her artistic inclination. The highlight is of course the striking pastel blue centre wall with trims. We also love the pops of yellow and grey for the dresser and bedside tables too. Notice the tall storage unit with four cabinets? This was specially made to stash all of Shreya’s art supplies. And the intriguing style has definitely won us over!

A sliding wardrobe with mirror shutters and lofts is placed beside the bed. Everything sits on dark wooden flooring to make for a cosy space. In addition, thanks to the wide window, all the colours bask in a pool of sunlight.

High on storage for the kids’ bedroom

It goes without saying that children need plenty of room to play. And the family wanted their two daughters to have plenty of space to play, study and store all their things neatly. As a result, Ritika put in a foldable bed integrated with a dresser on one side and shelves on the other. This definitely opens up a lot more space for the girls to play.

We love how the kids have a comfy window seating option as well with storage below too. The wardrobe is in a glossy grey and yellow with lofts. Props to Ritika for having put in several storage options without overwhelming the space!

This home has a special place in my heart. Crafting an artsy home with such beautiful colours is a dream for any designer. Especially if you are working with very friendly people like Ashish and Shreya. The entire experience has been great!”

After acquiring this spacious 3BHK, Jyoti wanted to turn it into her happy place. While looking for options online, she came across Livspace and thought of giving it a try.

What we love about this home is the fact that it is so fresh and calm. When Jyoti met Sakshi Shetty, her designer, she told her that she wanted a home that celebrates peace and has no bright colours. Sakshi suggested a colour palette with soothing whites and greys and Jyoti nodded in agreement. She filled this home with muted tones, elegant finishes and ample space for their pets to goof around. Take a tour of this apartment at Oberoi Esquire and get a taste of heaven!

The main criteria while designing the living room was to have maximum seating, along with free floor space for easy movement. This living room has a huge window on one side, thus there’s ample natural light flowing in through it. The blue Chesterfield sofa introduces a pop of colour in this neutral room, while the chairs and bench make sure that at least 16-18 people can be accommodated here.

Another striking feature of this living room is the laminate TV unit finished in stone grey. Sakshi has used silver beading to create geometric patterns on the side. The base unit has shelves and cabinets that take care of storage and display.

Carrying over the elegance from the living room to the dining room, this space incorporates the same laminate finish from the TV unit on the wall. Stone grey laminate pairs effortlessly with the tinted glass panels on either side. The crockery unit is customised for the family and matched with the wall. The hero of this space is undoubtedly the dining table with back-painted glass and steel legs. The elegant chairs are also the perfect companions for this stunning piece.

“We loved the designs and presentations made by Sakshi and that is what made us go ahead with Livspace. We trusted her completely with our home and we couldn’t have imagined a more perfect design that this. Our project was completed and delivered on time and we would definitely recommend Livspace to our friends and family.”

The vibe in Jyoti’s room is very different and welcoming. Sakshi has used wooden tones in the wardrobe to make the room feel warmer and cosier. The plush blue wall paint behind the bed imparts a relaxing feel to this space. We love the full-height suede headboard which is upholstered to perfection and increases the height of the room visually.

Jyoti also likes relaxing with her favourite book and a cup of coffee by the window, so Sakshi gave her this wing chair and a footrest. Since she loves collecting paintings, you can see her favourite pieces of art displayed on the walls here.

This grey and white room belongs to Sanjana, Jyoti’s daughter who loves subtle colours and clean lines. There are so many pretty little things in this room that we don’t know where to start. As soon as you enter this room, you are hit by a pastel energy that flows throughout the room. A matte grey sliding door wardrobe and a sleek dresser complete with drawers takes care of storage. A seating-cum-storage is perched right next to the dresser that holds their cats essentials.

In her casual banter, Sakshi confesses that her favourite room at home is the guest bedroom that has the maximum floor space. Since Jyoti and Sanjana love reading, this room is dedicated to some quality time that they can spend with themselves. The bookshelf looks like a distressed piece of furniture, doesn’t it? Well, it is actually a wallpaper on the laminate unit. A cosy work desk forms a part of the unit. The wooden finish textured wallpaper imparts visual height to the room, whereas the sofa-cum-bed makes this room comfortable.

“Working on Jyoti Punja’s home has been one of the most rewarding experiences for me. I truly enjoyed designing each room and giving it a unique character. My personal favourite is the guest bedroom that is so bright and spacious. I hope they build amazing memories in their new home!”

This 3BHK at Embassy Pristine is tailored to perfection.

A spacious and zone living area

Who livs here: Rohit & Ruchi Jain with their 2 kids

Location: Embassy Pristine, Bellandur, Bangalore

Size of home: 3BHK spanning 2,200 sq ft

Design team: Interior Designer Chandrashekhar & Design Manager Prithvi RN

Livspace service: Full home design

Budget: ₹₹₹

A home is more than walls, floors and ceilings; it is, in fact, a little capsule of a dream rendered into reality. Customising your home to match your dream is entirely unique feeling. Thus, Rohit and Ruchi Jain didn’t want to miss out on this feeling for sure! So when they decided to do the interiors for their spacious apartment at Embassy Pristine, they picked Livspace to design for them.

Rohit was very clear that he did not want the hassles of coordinating with a crowd of vendors. So our model of end-to-end interiors with a single point of contact attracted his attention. He asked the design team headed by Prithvi RN to replace the flooring of this 3BHK in Bangalore and provide turnkey customisation to suit his tastes.

Accents, Trims & More at Embassy Pristine

Rohit & Ruchi’s home has several features for visual interest. And one of them is right at the entrance. This highlight wall with veneer panels and yellow back painted glass pockets also functions as a display unit. Moreover, the scooped boxes in the wall can be used to keep artwork or collectibles as there are spotlights to highlight them!

Neat Designs & Flashes of Blue at Embassy Pristine

The couple has picked all their living room furniture from the Livspace catalogue including a tufted blue couch, armchair and a daybed. Beyond cleverly sectioned partition that also serves as shelves, we see another accent wall with similar veneer panels for continuity. Besides this is an image of Buddha on etched glass within wooden frames.

The entertainment unit blends in base cabinets from our catalogue with custom-made UV laminate back panel and wooden frame. In fact, there is an inherent neatness about this design that alludes to a great piece of customisation.

Rohit was very keen on having interesting ceiling treatments and the design team presented him with a number of options. And he loved this particular design with veneer details.

Tiled & Textured at Embassy Pristine

The dining room in this home was designed with a clear input from the couple; they wanted this space to have a wall panel of tiles. The abstract deep and light blue tiles have a textured presence that highlights the dining area. So the design team suggested a simple false ceiling design to not draw attention away from the walls. The dining set with two chairs and two benches is a contemporary piece from our catalogue.

Tiled and textured wall panel

“The Livspace design team offered us unique designs that were well-suited to our tastes. But we were sold on the idea of getting our interiors done from Livspace primarily to avoid coordinating with a lot of people; a single point of contact helped to keep the process of installation smooth.”
Rohit & Ruchi Jain, Livspace Homeowners

A Dose of Glossy Reds at Embassy Pristine

The biggest splurge in this 3BHK in Bangalore is the kitchen. Thanks to a plethora of storage options panty pull-out, tall unit, roller shutter unit, wicker baskets and corner unit. All the lower cabinets have been replaced by drawers and cabinets, with a glossy red acrylic finish. In addition, the countertop is a smooth white rendition of Corian stone. But what really caught our eye was the stack of open shelves, which is rare in modern kitchens but exceedingly useful. It shows that the design team has covered all the bases with this kitchen by providing every possible kind of storage!

Sauve & Spacious Bedroom at Embassy Pristine

Rohit and Ruchi’s master bedroom is massive. Needless to say that the design team had to create zones within it so that the space doesn’t look blank. First, they started with the entryway to this bedroom that has a custom pigeon-box style cabinet with alternate open and closed modules. And then the sleeping zone is dominated by a custom-made bed and floor to ceiling leather panelling. On either side of the bed, we have acrylic sheets with jaali designs and diffused backlighting.

Next to the bed is an accent lounge chair and a bunch of ottomans in pastel shades. This comprises the lounging area of the bedroom. The door leading to the bathroom is framed by two full-length mirrors on either side; this serves as the dressing zone. The end-to-end wardrobe in white laminate finish is a highlight in itself. It stands out for the frosted glass shutters and the TV unit integrated in the centre.

Vivid & Vibrant Kids’ Room at Embassy Pristine

The couple was particularly enthusiastic about designing the kids’ room for their son and daughter, who is still a toddler. They envisioned this room to be vibrant and playful. Hence, the bright splashes of orange violet and blue. They opted for a customised and integrated unit that comprises bunk beds, study units, storage units and a slide! The exposed brick wallpaper behind this integrated piece matches the shade of laminate flooring used in this room.

In addition, the design team suggested a custom wardrobe for this room that has back painted glass shutters. This was to ensure that the wardrobe matches the bright and colourful tone of this space. The false ceiling in this room also has a playful vibe with a scooped and rounded design.

Neat & Neutral at Embassy Pristine

The guest bedroom has been designed keeping the couple’s parents in mind. There is limited experimentation with colour here. But the red patch in the end-to-end wardrobe stands out. The membrane shutters for the wardrobe is suitably demure and matches the neutral tone of the headboard. The work station in this room is a blend of wall cabinets from our catalogue and an extended ledge that is custom-made.

“Rohit & Ruchi were a very friendly couple who paid a lot of attention to detail when it came to the interiors for their apartment. Moreover, they were very patient and gave us an ample amount of time to finalise the design so that the final product, which is their home, would be perfect.”
Prithvi RN, Design Manager, Livspace

Livspace Mumbai designed this colour-coded home!

Nitin and Vandana Sawant have never shied away from colours and that is exactly what they wanted for their new home as well. This working couple were hunting for interior designers in the city when they stumbled upon us. All they were looking for was some colour and lots of functional features in their home.

After they met Yogita Itkarkar, their designer, they were convinced that she is the one who could give them a home of their dreams. For Yogita, it is very important to connect to the clients to understand what they really need in terms of design. She was quick to grasp their brief and started designing around it. With minimum alterations and a lot of hard work, she was able to come up with something that the Sawants could not say no to. Read on to find out how each room took shape.

Livspace Mumbai: Cosy Dining Affair

Let’s start this tour by showing you the most striking area at this 3 BHK in Mumbai. Lovers of modern style, Nitin and Vandana were not ready to settle down for anything regular. They wanted a focal point in their dining room and Yogita came up with the idea of having mirror wall panel one of the walls. Peacock blue was chosen for the dining chairs and a round glass-top dining table made for a cosy companion. We love how the mirrored wall reflects the space and open it up so beautifully. Yellow paint for the false ceiling works as a perfect contrast for the blue.

Livspace Mumbai: Lovely Laminate Pooja Corner
livspace mumbai-3-bhk-in-mumbai-pooja corner-laminate pooja unit
Compact pooja unit

According to vastu, the couple had already chosen the spot for their pooja unit and it sits pretty, right next to the mirror wall. This laminate unit is complete with ample storage that comes in the form of cabinets and drawers. Aesthetics are taken care of by way of a jaali panel on one side and a backlit laser-cut panel as the backdrop.

Livspace Mumbai: Lively Living Area

You may feel that the living room is a riot of colours but look again. The colours are perfectly coordinated. The peacock blue upholstery for the sofa has been picked up from the dining chairs so that the look is tied together. A printed wallpaper, printed high-back chair and curtains – each of these have hints of blue and yellow. The TV unit at this 3 BHK in Mumbai is a stylish one, with 3D panelling at the back and wooden rafters at the side. Also, the lights for every corner have been bought according to the vibe of the space.

Livspace Mumbai: Zesty Parallel Kitchen

If you’re looking for a kitchen design that’s both functional and cost-effective, then you will love this one. Yogita made things interesting by adding a hint of orange to the grey cabinets. These laminate finish shutters are very easy to maintain and do not burn a hole in the pocket. The couple wanted a kitchen that is filled with storage on one side and a dedicated counter for appliances on the other. Ceramic subway tiles and a simple quartz countertop keep the backsplash from taking attention away from the rest of the kitchen.

Livspace Mumbai: Plush Blue Master Bedroom

Plush, rich, chic and everything in between. The master bedroom at this 3 BHK in Mumbai will bowl you over with its rich colour scheme. Blue luster paint was chosen for the TV unit wall, while wallpaper-like tiles covered up the wall behind the bed. Nitin wanted a compact study table in their master bedroom for those work-from-home days and Yogita upped the style quotient by adding hexagonal wall shelves. Although the couple loves a clutter-free look, they wanted sufficient storage as well. So, Yogita gave them high-gloss laminate wardrobe with lofts in white and a back-painted panel in brown running in the centre.

Livspace Mumbai: Cheery Room for the Kid

This room belongs to the couple’s son and it had to look more lively than any of the other rooms at home. Some striking features here are the upholstered mustard yellow headboard and matching hues in the false ceiling. Yogita has also given him an exposed brick wall look alike wallpaper behind the bed. Since this family travels a lot, he wanted a world map on one of the walls and Yogita obliged. Now they can pin up all their travel stories up there. Also, his study table is elaborate, with wall cabinets and shelves that can store all his books.

Livspace Mumbai: Simple & Subtle Guest Room

The guest bedroom here has a functional sofa-cum-bed that is an ideal space-saving piece of furniture. The wallpaper sports modern leaf prints and a dresser stands pretty, next to the sofa-cum-bed. The room is simple and their parents or guests can use it when they come over.

“It was really nice working with Nitin and Vandana. They are very understanding and accommodating clients. Since they knew that they wanted a completely modern look for their home, it was easy for me to suggest designs to them.”

-Yogita Itkarkar, Interior Designer, Livspace
