Who livs here: Rachna & Mohit Bedi with their 2 kids

Location: Lodha Dioro, New Cuffe Parade, Mumbai

Size of home: 4BHK duplex spanning 2,200 sq ft

Design team: Interior designer Nishi Jain and Project Manager Jatin Panchal

Livspace service: 4 bedrooms

Budget: ₹₹₹₹₹

We believe the bedroom is the most private space for a person and hence, should be designed to reflect one’s personality. Recently, we had the opportunity to design three bedrooms for three very distinct individuals at this Lodha Dioro home in Mumbai.

The Bedis came to Livspace to design three bedrooms in their expansive Cuffe Parade home. But here is the catch – each bedroom had to be customised to match the personality of its inhabitants. Our designer, Nishi Jain, took up the challenge and delivered three absolutely unique bedrooms for this family. Hence, the designer has used mature greys for the master bedroom where Rachna and Mohit Bedi stay, and it has functional storage options. Further, the daughter’s bedroom encompasses her personality with a refreshing colour palette and vintage style elements. Last but not the least, the son’s room has a balmy vibe with pops of yellow and playful elements in plenty.

Explore the bedrooms in this Lodha Dioro duplex to see how customisation can transform your private spaces.

Lodha Dioro Home: Master bedroom is glamorous in grey

The bed is a semi-modular piece that fits the space and also ensures that relocation is possible
lodha dioro-pendant lights for corner-headboard designs

The master bedroom of this Lodha Dioro duplex is glamorously grey and tastefully minimal. The bed is a mix of grey acrylic and woody laminate that matches the grey wall colour behind it. The cluster of luminous pendant lights hanging in one corner is the accent piece for this room. It is suitably bright, lending a touch of shine to the subdued greys. Interestingly, the bed has profile LED lights under it. If you walked into this room when it is dark save the strip of lighting, you would think that the bed is a floating one!

The frosted glass door leads up to a full-fledged walk-in cabinet

Cove lights in the ceiling highlight the two-door wardrobe that has grey acrylic in this bedroom. However, the real star of the show lies behind the frosted glass sliding door; an open walk-in wardrobe with laminate shutters awaits you on the other side. The wardrobes in the walk-in cabinet are custom-made semi-modular installations that have been made to fit the available space.

lodha dioro-media wall for bedroom-minimal entertainment cabinet designs

As you can see, there is no dearth of wow elements in this room; the media wall is another tick on a long list of attractions. It has a gorgeous backlit acrylic panel and woody laminate shelves as well as base cabinet to match the composition of the bed and ensure continuity of design.

“Nishi & the Livspace team designed each of the three bedrooms immaculately and they have turned out just as we wanted them. We were very impressed with the quality of work as the team could help us get semi-modular furniture, something that is not so easy to come by.”

Lodha Dioro Home: Pretty pastels for the daughter’s room
lodha dioro-personalised headboard designs-green bedroom designs
A dreamy fairytale vibe sets the tone of this bedroom

Our favourite bedroom in this Lodha Dioro duplex is the daughter’s room for its sheer dreaminess. Guess what? It is also Rachna’s favourite bedroom in the house. And our designer tells us that she put the maximum amount of effort behind this room, so it was definitely worth the while! Mannat, the daughter of the family, was very particular about the colour palette she wanted for her room. Essentially, the colour she wanted could be called aqua green or pastel green depending on your perspective. In combination with white, this colour recreates an aura of Ariel’s undersea palace.

lodha dioro-headboard designs-kids room in white
The headboard with its personalised effects is the prime attraction of this room
lodha dioro-dresser designs-white room designs for kids

We certainly didn’t miss out on the personalisation of the headboard that mimics an appliqued blanket and also sports the young lady’s name. Mannat is a nature lover and the floral and plant motifs on the headboard are an ode to her love for nature. The dresser by the mirror has a full-length mirror that is requisite for any girl’s room. What makes it special is the lamp post-like wall light that is rather Victorian, adding some period drama to this room in Lodha Dioro.

lodha dioro-white cabinets with country grooves-white cabinet designs
lodha dioro-white study table designs-white cabinet designs

The gorgeous side tables and wardrobes we designed in white PU with country-style grooves goes with the fairytale theme of this room. Moreover, the study table has been built into the wardrobe and is accompanied by a blue chair. In fact, we are totally crushing on the white curtains in this room that have thick blue borders with playful prints and you will too!

Lodha Dioro Home: A boyish charm for the son’s room
lodha dioro-white exposed brick wallpaper designs-headboard designs
Boyish charm and playful accents define this bedroom

This Lodha Dioro duplex has a room done up to fit the taste of their young son as well and it portrays a completely different personality. It is bright, playful and fun, just something a teenage boy would want his room to be. The boy in question is Hunar and he likes bright colours, and hence, the vibrant yellow pops in his room do justice to his taste.

Essentially, the matte grey laminate is a design choice that provides a subtle background for the yellow to shine. But that is not all, the grey laminate is in fact an anti-fingerprint material. Hence, there will be no telling trails of fingerprints on the wardrobe shutters no matter how much he uses them.

lodha dioro-white exposed brick wallpaper designs-grey door designs
lodha dioro-white exposed brick wallpaper-pendant light designs
The pendants lights used here look like footballs alluding to the interests of the boy

The bed in this room has a low headboard to give precedence to the white exposed brick wallpaper. Moreover, there are touches of playfulness everywhere starting with the backlit panel installed behind the bed. he three pendant lights over the study table resemble footballs. In fact, the study table itself is an end-to-end floating ledge that consumes minimal space.

lodha dioro-white exposed brick wallpaper designs-ledge designs
lodha dioro-grey laminate wardrobe designs-bookshelf designs

Hunar translates to talent in English so we aren’t surprised at just how gifted this young man is. He wanted a space to display all the trophies he has won. Hence, the shelves have a half open-half shuttered design. Essentially, the shuttered racks are for storing books and the open racks for display. And just when you thought that this room couldn’t get more interesting, our designer pulls out another trick from her kitty. The glossy yellow PU panels also conceal the TV. Basically, the cabinet opens up to display the TV, the rest is for storage.

“The Bedis were very sorted in terms of their requirements. They wanted each bedroom to reflect a personality. Moreover, they needed semi-modular furniture to fit their space to a T. I was thrilled for the opportunity to work on this project because the scope for design was immense.”
– Nishi Jain, Interior Designer, Livspace

SNN Raj Greenbay gets a stunning #LivspaceHome!

snn raj greenbay-living room-full home-wooden centre table
Sink in and relax

Who livs here: Nirmal with his wife Moumita

Location: SNN Raj Greenbay, Electronic City, Bengaluru

Size of home: 2BHK spanning 1,390 sq ft approx.

Design team: Interior Designer Chandana Erugu and Project Manager Chandrashekar N

Livspace service: Full home design

Budget: ₹₹₹₹₹

When Nirmal and Moumita first discovered this sweeping home — a beautiful, expansive, naturally lit home in one of Bengaluru’s most sought-after neighbourhoods — they knew that they had to make it theirs. This apartment at SNN Raj Greenbay has a lot going on within. With a well-planned living room and cosy bedrooms, this house had the potential to become the perfect home for this young IT couple.

With a positive outlook and the desire to own a pretty home in Electronic City, they approached Livspace. What impressed them was the promptness of their designer Chandana Erugu in giving them design solutions for the concerns that they had. The designing and execution took off from there and this journey has been rewarding for everyone involved in this process. The clients are all praises and we are in awe!

SNN Raj Greenbay Apartment Design: Rustic Entry
snn raj greenbay-entryway-stone cladding wall-wooden door
An entryway should be both inviting and stylish

There’s something warm and inviting about the use of stone and natural materials at home. Especially when you use it in your entrance, you are bound to attract positive vibes. Nirmal and Moumita were pretty sure about getting a stone cladded wall in the foyer at their SNN Raj Greenbay apartment because they feel that it gives character to plain walls. Chandana further enhanced it with a simple wall ledge and spot lights in place.

This pleasant couple is more of a stay-at-home kind and they love enjoying their company by themselves. Therefore, they were clear about having a simple home where they can relax. Their living room at SNN Raj Greenbay features a couple of comfortable sofas that the couple retained and a full fledged laminate TV unit. Chandana has given them a combination of display shelves and cabinets that take care of everything from artefacts to speakers, while a back panel takes care of concealing the wires. Also, do not miss the lovely cove lighting in the false ceiling that completes the room.

Apartment Design at SNN Raj Greenbay: Classic Greys

A kitchen done up in gorgeous grey

snn raj greenbay-breakfast counter-bar stools

The kitchen that you’re seeing right now is the outcome of a marvelous idea that Chandana came up with. During their initial design discussions, Nirmal and Moumita had shown the floor plan to Chandana and she suggested they go for an open layout since the space needs to look more spacious. Therefore, she broke one of the walls and made space for a breakfast counter there. This gives the couple more scope to interact while one of them is busy cooking up a storm.

Coming to the colour scheme and modules in here, Chandana says that she wanted to keep it simple and easy to maintain. Therefore, she gave them grey, acrylic finish base units and cream, laminate lofts to save cost. The couple really wanted frosted glass shutters and she happily obliged. Tandem boxes, large drawers, hob unit among others, make this kitchen every bit functional.

snn raj greenbay-client image-Nirmal and Moumita

“We had consulted quite a few designers and interior design firms, but what impressed us about Livspace was their promptness in providing a plan. Chandana, our designer, was very patient and prepared a detailed presentation to show us how she was planning to design our home. We had a very pleasant experience with Livspace and would like to give full credit to Chandana for the same!”

Both Nirmal and Moumita like bright colours and they were particular about having a pop colour in their bedroom at SNN Raj Greenbay. Since this room features a dark wooden floor, Chandana decided to give a complementary yellow for the wardrobe. This wardrobe comes with lofts and flaunts a lacquered glass finish on the swing door shutters. A cosy recliner sits right next to the bed where one of them occasionally chills with a cup of coffee for company. We love how inviting this rooms looks!

The guest bedroom in this SNN Raj Greenbay home paints a serene picture in our mind. While the bed was retained by the couple, Chandana decided to give a fresh feel to this space by adding a huge sliding door wardrobe here. She gave it a dark grey colour so that the room does not feel too white. The entire design opens up the space and makes it look nice and spacious. Also, the view from their apartment is a stunner!

“Nirmal and Moumita were one of the best clients to work with, since they were very understanding and accommodative. They gave me a lot of time to work on my designs and they loved the idea of breaking one wall to convert it into a breakfast counter. I was thrilled to design this home and it looks exactly how they wanted it.”

A Nirala Aspire flat designed by Livspace!

Nirala-Aspire-living-room-grey-sofa-gold-accent-curtains-coffee-table
An airy and breezy setting defines the entire home

Who livs here: Anil and Anu Saroha with their two children, Aarshia and Aarav

Location: Nirala Aspire, Sector – 16, Greater Noida

Size of home: 4BHK spanning 2,450 sq ft

Design team: Interior designer Ojasvi Gombhar

Livspace service: Full home design

Budget: ₹₹₹₹₹

Basking in abundant sunlight is Anil and Anu Saroha’s new address in Nirala Aspire. This particular Noida flat is very close to their hearts because the family had finally found their forever home after an extensive house hunting period. So it only made sense they wanted picture-perfect interiors for their swanky new flat! Enter our designer Ojasvi Gombhar, who was excited to deck up their sprawling 2,450 sq ft home.

“They wanted a contemporary and classy home,” explains Ojasvi, “They wanted it to look dreamy and inviting where everything had a place for everything. No clutter and plenty of breathing space.”

While Anil works in IT and Anu does coaching for students, their son and daughter too had a few ideas of how they wanted their room to be. Keeping white as the base colour palette, Ojasvi crafted a complete home, from the elegant flooring to gorgeous wall treatments and everything in between. Let’s walk right in!

Nirala-Aspire-details-beautiful-design
Nirala Aspire Apartment Design: A functional and classy foyer
Nirala-Aspire-foyer-shoe-cabinet-white-door-colourful-tiles-floor
A rugged textured flooring at the entryway
Nirala-Aspire-foyer-shoe-cabinet-white-handles-pillows

Most of us picture shoe cabinets as bulky or tall units. But here’s a minimal unit that can easily pass off as sleek furniture. With country style handles, plenty of storage and a low seating feature, we love how functional the space is!

Notice the colourful flooring? This is a rugged textured flooring that’s ideal for entryways. People could come in, sit on the low bench and take off their shoes in comfort. While one wall is in a light pink hue, the other side of the wall features a subtle wallpaper, where the family will eventually hang photographs and artwork.

Nirala Aspire Apartment Design: Glorious Greys
Nirala-Aspire-living-room-grey-sofas-gold-accent-coffee-table
Two tuxedo sofas in grey

The living room is purposely kept minimal. As a result, there’s no blocking of all that lovely sunlight pouring in. It houses two grey tuxedo sofas, a pristine white coffee table and a wooden side table. A metallic leaf wallpaper serves as the perfect backdrop for this space.

“We love our home right from the entrance! Our designer Ojasvi Gombhar did a really good job in translating our thoughts into reality. From the white base palette to the wallpapers and the contemporary vibe, everything is just perfect!”
Anil & Anu Saroha, Livspace Homeowners

Nirala Aspire Apartment Design: Dine in Style

A crockery unit with a dedicated space for pooja in the middle
Nirala-Aspire-TV-dining-table-chairs-wallpaper-clock-pooja-crockery-unit

Notice how the space is devoid of partition walls? This is to keep the living and dining as one airy and spacious room. As a result, Ojasvi thought of another way to make a subtle disctinction in space. She put up an intriguing wallpaper with colourful vertical lines for the dining section, where a white laminate TV panel is mounted. A wooden table and grey upholstered chairs make up for the dining nook. Two extra wooden chairs are also placed that can easily be moved to the living room for additional seats.

Behind this, stands a white laminate crockery unit. While the unit houses plates and glasses on either side, the middle section is used as a pooja as per vastu.

Nirala Aspire Apartment Design: A bright and elegant kitchen
Nirala-Aspire-white-kitchen-cabinets-drawers
Colourful mosaic tiles for a pop of intrigue in this white kitchen
Nirala-Aspire-white-kitchen-cabinets-drawers-chimney

You can never go wrong with a pristine white kitchen. While the overhead and base cabinets are in white laminate, the backsplash tiles stand out in colourful mosaic tiles. The storage-packed kitchen is fitted with wicker baskets, tall units and cabinets all around with edge profile handles. Moreover, the jet black granite countertop completes the look.

Nirala Aspire Apartment Design: Sweet dreams are made of these

master-bedroom-floral-wallpaper-headboard-pillows-bed-curtains

Anu loves anything floral. Since the master bedroom is huge, Ojasvi maximised its full potential and covered the entire centre wall in an elegant floral wallpaper. We especially love how it doesn’t look overpowering. While the headboard is a subtle khaki colour, it complements the high gloss laminate side tables that are in gorgeous hazel cambric.

Because Anil loves to read, Ojasvi added a lone shelf for him to stack his current books and a no-fuss study table. An elegant TV unit featuring a sleek panel, open shelves and drawers dressed with gold knobs soften the bedroom as well. A walk-in wardrobe in the corner nook flaunting the same hazel cambric colour offers plenty of storage. Also, thanks to the L-shaped window, the room basks under abundant sunlight. All ticks for a gorgeous home!

Nirala Aspire Apartment Design: A minty fresh kids’ bedroom
kids-bedroom-mint-green-paint-walls-study-table-beds
Two individual beds with hydraulic lifts for storage

The kids bedroom stands out from the entire home, thanks to its refreshing mint green walls. Housing two individual beds with a hydraulic lift for storage, Ojasvi used white to a bare minimum for this room. Notice the patterned headboards? These are crafted out of a special polymer fabric that makes it easy to clean.

While their daughter Aarshia wanted yellow and their son Aarav preferred red, Ojasvi thought of an intriguing way to bring in their favourite colours. She put in a striking colourful acrylic panel between the upper and lower sections of the study unit. The rest of the unit has been done in white laminate and wood.

Nirala Aspire Apartment Design: A soft-hued bedroom

Anil’s parents room, which doubles as a guest bedroom, is doused in soothing shades as well. Since his parents were to have this room, the couple were particular that it had to be minimal and calming. As a result, Ojasvi put in a subtle centre wall, which is a combination of grey paint and a pop of chevron patterned wallpaper in the middle. In addition, the breezy curtains flaunt petals for ambience.

Opposite the bed, a TV panel in white laminate and closed shelves add to the softness of the room. In addition, a white laminate wardrobe with lofts has been fitted with mirror to avoid putting in a separate dressing unit.

Nirala Aspire Apartment Design: A dash of playfulness
spare-bedroom-colourful-painted-walls-wardrobe-flooring
A vibrant painted wall is the highlight of this room

When Anil and Anu paid a visit to our Experience Centre in Okhla, they fell in love with one of our painted walls. So much so that they wanted it in their home as well! It proved to be the perfect backdrop of Anu’s tuition class. Moreover, children would love the vibrant colours.

A barely-there membrane wardrobe stands in the corner that completely matches with the dark wooden flooring. Because of the minimal surroundings, the focal point of the room will always remain on the wall.

Nirala Aspire Apartment Design: Bathrooms Galore

A yellow and grey strip run around the centre of the bathroom wall

While the guestroom bathroom is done up in neutrals and printed rustic tiles, the kids’ bathroom is a different story! They wanted something sleek and colourful. As a result, Ojasvi put in wide strips of dark grey and yellow ceramic tiles to create a vibrant look.

“I’ve been working for 10 years in this field. And Anil and Anu are by far the most perfect clients. I had the greatest time designing their home. They are extremely cooperative people. The brief they gave me for each room was so clear that the entire design process went smooth. This is one of my favourite projects!”

Classy and contemporary duplex house images from Gurgaon.

duplex house images-bar unit designs-red sofa designs-duplex house designs
Warm colours set the tone for the massive living area

Who livs here: Rajesh Ojha with his wife Priya

Location: M3M Golf Estate, Gurgaon

Size of home: A duplex spanning 2,000 sq ft approx. on each floor

Design team: Interior Designer Shilpa Garg and Project Manager Chandan Gaurav

Livspace service: Living area, balcony and 2 bedrooms

Budget: ₹₹₹₹

The duplex house images here paint a perfect picture of contemporary design tempered with radiant Indian colours. The youthfulness of the young couple that lives in this home seems to have rubbed off on its design. Rajesh and Priya Ojha entertain a lot and so this home is dressed to impress. Our interior designer Shilpa Garg has ensured that they can accommodate a good number of guests in this expansive home without stuffing it with bulky furniture.

The couple wanted their home to be bright, spacious and awe-inspiring as Rajesh runs a real estate business out of home and often meets clients here. Naturally, no effort has been spared to make it look like a show apartment.

Take a look at these duplex house images to be inspired by this gorgeous home that also doubles up as an office.

Duplex House Images: A Warm Green Welcome
duplex house images-duplex house designs-indoor garden ideas-grey wallpaper designs
The green patch under the stairs is a breath of fresh air
duplex house images-duplex house designs-indoor garden ideas

The entrance to this duplex is done in style with grey wallpaper and mirror wall accents. Additionally, there is a bit of bling coming from the golden wall lighting fixture and we do love the abstract art chosen for this corridor. But the patch green created under the stairs is the star of the show. It must be noted that this patch has been created using artificial plants and turfing. As the home belongs to a working couple, the designer wanted to keep the decor low maintenance.

Duplex House Images: Paint me red!
duplex house images-duplex house designs-red sofa designs-indoor plant decor ideas
The red tufted Cassandra sofa has a touch of class

It is evident from the duplex house images that there is plenty of space in this home and its sparsely populated by furniture. However, the furniture is rich in colour and texture; so this duplex looks spacious but not empty.

duplex house images-duplex house designs-red sofa designs-golden drape designs-sheer drape designs
duplex house images-duplex house designs-red sofa designs-side table designs

The rich red Cassandra sofa is from the Livspace catalog. It has been paired with side tables with metallic base and marble top. Moreover, the centre table adds its own dose of glamour with its metallic pin and ball structure with a glass top. Additionally, the wall accent is by far the most interesting as it comprises golden wallpaper, moulding and metallic plates. It also includes wall lights for a complete package.

duplex house images-duplex house designs-red sofa designs-bar unit designs

The bar unit is a novel addition to this living area. Essentially, it is a hand cart with carvings that has the intricate texture of timber.

Duplex House Images: The Upper Deck
duplex house images-duplex house designs-red sofa designs-modern chandelier designs
The contemporary chandelier is a continuity piece between the two floors
duplex house images-duplex house designs-red sofa designs-marble flooring ideas

As per Shilpa, who is the designer, the double height ceiling of the living area was the biggest design challenge. Hence, she decided to fill up this space with a modern chandelier that comprises a bunch of upturned jars. This stained glass lighting piece can be seen from the upstairs balcony as well. Thus, it serves as a continuity piece between two floors of this duplex.

“The best part about having our home designed by Livspace was that we had a single point of contact. The design and installation processes were seamless. Moreover, the end product, which is our home, is just perfect!”
– Rajesh Ojha, Livspace Homeowner

Duplex House Images: Quirky Home Office

The exposed brick wall adds an element of quirk to the study
duplex house images-exposed brick wall ideas-wallpaper ideas-grey blind ideas

Our favourite spot in this home is the study-cum-office. Not only is it bright and contemporary, it rather quirky too. The vibrant red exposed brick wallpaper is not something you would expect to see in an office. But it blends in beautifully with the peppy art work in this room. Further, there is a console for keeping equipment like printers and scanners at one end. This console has white membrane finish and can be used to store files as well.

duplex house images-exposed brick wall ideas-wallpaper ideas-scandinavian floor lamp
The metallic floor lamp is straight out of the book of Scandinavian design
duplex house images-exposed brick wall ideas-wallpaper ideas-picnic table designs

While the chairs for this study were picked from our catalogue, the table is custom-made; it is made of MDF and layered with white Duco paint. The white table is quite unlike any conventional office furniture. Infact, it gives the distinct vibe of a picnic table. To sum it up, this study is meant for those who like to combine work and play. If you are in no mood to go to office, this home office with its touches of playfulness would be the perfect place to settle down with a laptop.

Duplex House Images: Blue Velvet

The velvet of the headboard sets a plush vibe for this bedroom
duplex house images-bed bed designs-wooden flooring ideas-black and white carpet designs
duplex house images-bed bed designs-headboard designs-velvet headboard designs

It is obvious from the duplex house images that the master bedroom of this house is massive in size. However, the designer has chosen to furnish it minimally. There is a bed from our catalogue with a plush velvet headboard. Moreover, the regal demeanor of the bed contrasts with very contemporary looking pendant lights on either side of the bed. Finally, the beige wallpaper has soft geometric patterns that whiff of modern design.

duplex house images-media wall ideas for bedroom-wooden flooring ideas-TV unit ideas

Right opposite to the bed, there is an entertainment unit that has a matte membrane finish. It is pertinent to note that it is deliberately minimal and sleek to make the room look just as large as it is.

This pooja unit is dressed with pretty white drapes and inbuilt lights

The pooja unit has a vintage dark wood finish sculpted into a contemporary design. This entire unit was handpicked from the options in our category. The setup cuts a pretty picture with inlaid lights and white drapes.

Duplex House Images: Green Acres

duplex house images-balcony seating ideas-balcony garden ideas-wooden flooring ideas
The whites of the furniture, bright coral of the cushions and greens form a pleasant ensemble
duplex house images-balcony seating ideas-balcony garden ideas-swings for balcony

The first floor balcony of this duplex is rather roomy and offered a great design opportunity that was too tempting to miss. Shilpa furnished this space with wicker chairs and a cozy swing. We love the refreshing coral colour of the cushions and also the vertical garden. Besides, if you have a large enough balcony, you can definitely take some inspiration from the garden cladding done on one of the walls here.

“Rajesh and Priya were very accommodating as clients; they gave me plenty of freedom to design their home as per my sensibilities. They were not afraid to experiment with bold colours like red and gold.”
– Shilpa Garg, Interior designer, Livspace

Size of home: 3BHK spanning 1,200 sq ft

Moving into a new home with young children is quite a task. So Srikanth and Pavani had their hands full with their toddling twin boys. But with interior designer Pallavi Goel and Livspace to help them, they managed to achieve this feat without any hiccups! The couple had very clear requirements for their 3BHK apartment at Adani Western Heights; they wanted their home to be simple yet sophisticated with a smattering of subtle colours. However, more than the aesthetics, they were particular about the safety of their boys. Thus, they wanted their home to be child-proofed in terms of design without using any of the obvious baby-proofing techniques.

Do you need some ingenious baby-proofing ideas for your home? This home at Adani Western Heights will definitely inspire you.

Adani Western Heights: Opulent Foyer
adani western-heights-foyer designs-console table designs-mirror cabinet shutters

This apartment had a narrow foyer so Pallavi used mirror shutters for the cabinet to make it look wider. Moreover, the base cabinets function as shoe storage and the top cabinets are used to stash knick-knacks. Despite being completely functional, this space cuts a posh image as an entryway for the home.

Adani Western Heights: Baby-proofed Living Room

The living area is rather unique because it has a tufted rexine ottoman instead of a centre table, which serves two purposes. Firstly, unlike a centre table, the ottoman lacks sharp edges so the kids are less likely to hurt themselves while playing around. Secondly, the two adults in the home can also put their feet up on this comfy ottoman while they watch TV sitting on the three-seater leatherette couch. The two blue chairs add a pop of colour to this space and also serve as additional seating.

The panelling on the wall is veneer that has a textured finish. Further, the entertainment cabinet is kept floating to optimise space. Essentially, the chandelier has industrial overtones as it is made of rope and naked bulbs. In summation, the living area is dressed in various shades of brown with a pop of blue. It also makes a comfortable setting to sit back and relax after a long day.

A rustic exposed brick wall that sports vintage wall lights demarcates the dining area. Essentially, it is accompanied by a sofa on one side and chair on another is custom-made. In fact, it is upholstered in grey leatherette and sports the same tufted design as the living area furniture.

Black lampshades light up the passage leading up to the bedroom lending a contemporary vibe to this area.

The blending of warm wooden flooring and cool grey furnishing makes the colour balance perfect

The master bedroom is a mix of warm wood tones of the flooring and the cool texture of grey and white furnishings. Moreover, the custom-made bed has low height to ensure that kids do not fall off and hurt themselves. The full-length headboard is the focal point of the room but it also ensures that the bed doesn’t have any sharp edges.

adani western-heights-grey headboard designs-full length mirror designs

The side table is a country style white piece that fits into the scope of this room seamlessly. There is also a full length mirror next to the bed that serves as a dresser.

adani western-heights-white wardrobe designs-walk-in wardrobe designs
adani western-heights-walk-in wardrobe designs-wooden flooring designs

We were particularly taken in by the walk-in wardrobe created in this room within a small space. Essentially, the wardrobe shutters are made of PU with moulding and mirrors. The moulding adds texture and also gives a cheerful country vibe to the dressing area.

adani western-heights-wooden ledge designs-wooden wall shelf designs

As Srikanth works from home for long hours, there is a veneer ledge complete with drawers and shelves in this bedroom. Needless to say, this unit serves as his work station at home.

adani western-heights-white furniture designs-white side table designs

The solid wood bed that we see in the guest bedroom was an existing piece of furniture. The same white side table we saw in the master bedroom stands by the side of this bed. Further, the shelves in this room are cast into a niche to save space.

adani western-heights-white PU wardrobe-white wardrobe designs
The uneven PU shutters gives a textured finish to the wardrobe

The most interesting aspect of this room is the wall-to-wall wardrobe that stands out for its pristine white PU finish. Consequently, it has an interesting textured detail for the shutters that give it a quirky uneven finish.

Adani Western Heights: Neat & Tidy Kids’ Room
adani western-heights-single bed designs-kids’ bed designs
The kids room has enough bare space for the twins to play
adani western-heights-single bed designs-drapes for kids room
adani western-heights-single bed designs-blue drape designs

You must be wondering why a room for twins has a single bed. The family believes in co-sleeping so the kids’ bedroom is mainly used as a play area. Furthermore, the sky blue curtains paired with the blue colour of the walls adds a touch of playfulness to this room.

adani western-heights-sliding wardrobe designs-white wardrobe designs
Having a sliding wardrobe ensures that space is optimised in the kids’ room

As this bedroom is compact, Pallavi has optimised space by installed a custom sliding wardrobe. In addition, the shutters for this wardrobe are made of white backpainted glass that has a clean and tidy effect on the room.

“Srikanth and Pavana wanted a simple yet sophisticated home that would have a subtle dash of colours. They were very impressed by my past work and wanted something on similar lines. Hence, we had a very good connect from the beginning and the project was a smooth sail for me.”

A home that’s a lesson in creativity at TDI Ourania in Gurgaon.

A room with an easy-going vibe and quirky elements

Who livs here: Sonam Bisht with her parents

Location: TDI Ourania, Golf Course Road, Gurgaon

Size of home: A 3BHK spanning 1,800 sq ft approx.

Design team: Interior Designer Gaurav Chaudhary and Project Manager Aditi Arora

Livspace service: Full home design

Budget: ₹₹₹₹₹

Every now and then comes a home that has so many striking elements to point out that leaves us at a loss for words. The service industry thrives on word-of-mouth and the right display of their work. For Sonam Bisht, a makeup artist by profession, residing at TDI Ourania, it was our Instagram page that got her to us. This fashionista is an ardent follower of lifestyle handles and on one such browsing trip she came across Livspace.

A lover of colours and all things classy by self-admission, Sonam has always envisioned her home to look like a fairy-tale. When she first met Gaurav Chaudhury, her designer, she was clear about her interest in cheerful colours and glittering gold tones. He instantly knew that he had to make this one worth it. While the living room embraces bold reds and golds, the lounge flaunts peppy pink and blue. This home is a playful riot of colours and you should not miss taking a tour of this one.

The moment you step into this sprawling 3BHk at TDI Ourania, you are hit by an unsinkable energy. Replete with ravishing red and glamorous gold, this living room is a treat for sore eyes. Gaurav planned the seating in such a way that there’s enough space to move around as well as lounge around. If you look at the TV unit wall, you will notice that it is one big empty wall, if not for the floating wall shelves. Gaurav intelligently broke the unending wall by placing these ledges that can hold everything from the set-top box to other little accent pieces.

Another striking element in this living room is the floating false ceiling that takes inspiration from a chess board. Recessed light is the perfect option when you have an accent ceiling like this. A golden wallpaper also acts as the highlight on corner wall.

Have you ever seen a dining room so compact and sleek? This dining room at TDI Ourania wins brownie points for being cosy, classy and stylish — all at once. Gaurav designed the grid style bar-cum-crockery unit that holds all the exclusive crockery and liquor. This zone turns into a party zone when Sonam has friends over. Do not miss the stylish chandelier that features hands that can be turned around. A simple jaali partition separates this space from the foyer.

Interiors for TDI Ourania: Backlit and Jaali Pooja

The pooja corner in this home is built in a wall niche and steers clear of unnecessary pomp. All it flaunts is a backlit panel with Ganesha and an inscription on it. The idols rest on a storage unit complete with drawers and cabinets. A laser cut panel defines this divine corner.

While cooking is not an activity that Sonam enjoys, she wanted her kitchen to be as functional as possible. Since this kitchen is going to be used by the house help most of the time, it had to be easy to clean and maintain. Therefore, Gaurav gave them laminate finish for the base and wall units. The quartz countertop is also easy to clean and does not require any special maintenance. This kitchen is equipped with all the modules that a kitchen should have. Also, 3D ceramic tiles make for a simple backsplash.

“It was an absolute pleasure to get my home designed by Livspace and all the credit goes to the designer, Gaurav Chaudhary. He has delivered over and beyond his responsibilities to give us our dream home. From design suggestions to decor ideas, he was always ready to help and I absolutely love spending time in the little reading nook that he created for me in my room.”

In conversation with Sonam, we found out that her favourite spot at home is this cosy reading nook that Gaurav created for her. It has shelves on either side for her to store all her books and cute nothings. And did you know what is her favourite element here? It is the dreamy Krishna Mehta wallpaper!

She also revealed that she is a shopaholic and she wanted dedicated space to keep all her handbags. Simple swing door wardrobes with lofts is the ideal choice for someone who loves clothes. A dresser built in a niche with storage at the bottom and a focus light to illuminate the corner is something that she needed.

Every parent in this world deserves to have a room that makes them feel comfortable. Gaurav tells us how Sonam, her parents and he together chose this beautiful aqua blue colour for this bedroom. With hints of gold on the wallpaper, it acts as the perfect focal point here. Functionality won once again, with simple swing door wardrobes in high gloss laminate finish.

Now this is one spot at home that comes alive whenever there are friends and family at home. Sonam loves hosting her friends and she also loves her Play Station. This is where you can find her chilling on most days after work. We are crushing over the lousy vibe of this room. With a sofa-cum-bed in aquamarine, a pop pink table and a quirky red ladder display unit, this is one hot spot at home!

“It is always amazing when our clients become friends in the end. This is a sort of validation that we have done something right. It was absolutely thrilling to design for Sonam since she was very clear about certain things from the beginning. The designing phase did not take a lot of time and we could deliver her home on time. I made sure I took all her requirements into consideration and gave her exactly what she was expecting.”

A modern design for a Shipra Srishti apartment.

Who livs here: Anurag Jain, his wife Kalpana, and their two children
Location: Shipra Srishti, Indirapuram, Ghazibad
Size of home: 5BHK spanning 2,200 sq ft for each floor
Design team: Interior designer Geetika Seth
Livspace service: Full home design
Budget: ₹₹₹₹

Located in the most sought after area of Ghaziabad, stands Shipra Srishti, where Anurag Jain and his family found their dream home. The family approached Livspace to deck up their home completely, from flooring to ceiling and everything in between. After all, the sprawling penthouse with two floors does mandate snazzy interiors! Our designer Geetika Seth was soon put to the task.

The now carefully crafted home is dressed in beautiful neutrals, accentuated with happy pops of colours, and subtle wall treatments. We have only featured one bedroom of their five as per the request of the client. Here’s the tour!

Shipra Srishti-design-details
Shipra Srishti Apartment Design: Wooden Warmth
Shipra Srishti-entrance-door-wooden-spotlights
A false ceiling in wood and spotlights

Something about wood always makes your home warm and inviting. Since the main door has been done up in decorative wood, it makes a good first impression. Also, we love the drama leading to the living room done by laminated wooden ceiling, dressed with spotlights.

Shipra Srishti Apartment Design: An Ode to Greys

While the living room is doused in soothing neutral tones, pops of mustard yellow and blue adds a refreshing break. Notice how the room is airy and bright? Geetika only put in minimal furniture to allow more breathing space and avoid creating obstacles. There’s plenty of seating options, ranging from three seater sofas to comfy armchairs. Of course, the highlight is the metallic artwork that’s mounted on the wall. It’s been done up in blue to match with the striking sofa below it. Doesn’t it soften the place even more?

Geetika purposely kept the living room neutral to keep the focal point on the approaching tile work. A self textured wallpaper stands behind this sofa. Everything sits on newly done up vitrified flooring.

Shipra Srishti Apartment Design: Artsy Dining

Shipra Srishti-dining-table-chairs-curtain-stone-tile-work
Shipra Srishti-dining-table-chairs-curtain-partition

Since the room is extremely spacious, Geetika put in a partition to make a clear distinction from the dining nook. The partition smartly features a display unit at the top and a hidden trolley at the bottom.

Of course, the focal point is a metallic blue panel that you can’t miss. Made out of three types of tiles, the work of art makes for a stunning element in the dining room. It’s been paired with a sleek console table done in PU. The stone dining table and beige leatherette chairs have been picked from a local shop.

Shipra Srishti Apartment Design: An Elegant Pooja
Shipra Srishti-pooja-unit-wallpaper-spotlight
A motif wallpaper placed in a pooja unit

The pooja unit has been cast into a wall niche beside their daughter’s bedroom. Done up in white laminate, it has upper and lower cabinets for ample storage. Moreover, we love the elegant motif wallpaper that’s been put in with a lone spotlight.

“We enjoyed the whole process. Geetika and her team understood what we wanted and designed it exactly like that. We especially love how Livspace revamped our staircase.”

Anurag Jain, Livspace Homeowner

kitchen-white-brown-membrane-PU-cabinets-tall-unit
kitchen-white-brown-membrane-PU-cabinets-fridge

Kitchens need to be built according to your personal sense of functionality. Since the family preferred different stations for chopping and cooking, there’s plenty of working tops for this kitchen. Similar to a U-shaped kitchen in layout, Geetika put cutouts in between. While all the lower cabinets are in dark brown membrane, the upper cabinets are in white PU. The handles are all traditional pull outs for easy usage and the countertop is made of jet black granite.

If you look beside the cooking station, you would notice a floor-to-ceiling white unit. And if you look closer, you would notice it’s a crockery unit. While the crockery doors are done in white PU, the middle section is crafted out of brown tinted glass. The unit’s height is kept in the same level of the wall cabinets to offer a sense of uniformity.

Shipra Srishti Apartment Design: Teal Dreams

Teal is the daughter’s favourite colour. As a result, Geetika painted the centre wall in vibrant teal. Since Anurag loves wall trims, she added it to the wall to take it up a notch. “We created the bedroom’s design to complement the accent wall,” Geetika explains.

Just like the rest of the home, the bedroom is minimal in style as well. A TV unit stands opposite the bed. We love the teal storage options with profile handles in the form of hinged opening cabinets, drawer pull outs and lift ups. In addition, Geetika put in a study unit in laminate with open and closed shelves. Moreover, everything sits on wooden flooring, making for a cosy setting.

Anurag was particular about one thing in this bedroom. He wanted some form of fencing as an element of security for a huge window that opens up to the living room terrace. “I wasn’t interested to put traditional grills. So I put up a beautiful jali for the window, this way it’s secure and looks good at the same time,” Geetika reveals.

Shipra Srishti Apartment Design: Statement Stairway
wooden-stairs-lights-white-flooring
Stairs revamped in teakwood
wooden-stairs-lights-from-bottom

Since the staircase wasn’t secure enough and lacked a certain oomph, the family redid the entire staircase. This time in gorgeous teakwood! A patterned grill runs along the staircase on one side and on the other side, a wooden strip has been added on the wall. Because of the added strip, it’s easier to maintain clean walls – a common concern when you hold the wall coming down.

“Working with Anurag and his family was amazing. They were extremely friendly and that made the entire design process even more enjoyable. I am glad they are happy with the outcome!”

– Geetika Seth, Interior Designer, Livspace

A 100 sq ft kitchen at DNR Atmosphere that wows us with its simplicity!

dnr atmosphere-two toned kitchen design-grey and white kitchen
A compact kitchen with everything you need

Who livs here: Smitakshi with her husband and son

Location: DNR Atmosphere, Whitefield, Bengaluru

Size of kitchen: 100 sq feet approx.

Design team: Interior Designer Charul Lodha & Project Manager Meer Ameenuddin.H

Livspace service: Kitchen

Budget: ₹₹₹₹

We won’t be exaggerating if we say that people spend more time in their kitchens than any other part of the house. No wonder, we invest a giant share of our resources dedicated to interiors on kitchens! A project to furnish a compact kitchen is both a challenge and an opportunity for Livspace, which in this case was taken up our designer Charul Lodha.

Smitakshi and her husband wanted their 100 sq ft kitchen to have all necessary modern accessories without making it cluttered. So Charul designed this kitchen in a DNR Atmosphere apartment in contemporary style using a neat layout that cuts clutter. Read on to explore the entire kitchen.

A Two-toned Kitchen at DNR Atmosphere
dnr atmosphere-two toned kitchen design-grey and white kitchen designs
Greys and whites make a balanced colour palette
dnr atmosphere-two toned kitchen design-grey and white kitchen-white countertop designs

It is no secret that two-toned kitchens, (kitchens that are furnished in two different or contrasting colours) are quite a rage these days. Smitakshi wanted a darker colour for the base cabinets. This was to ensure that infamous curry stains that are so common in Indian kitchens don’t take a toll on her cabinets. The deep grey of the base cabinets is nicely balanced by the white wall cabinets. Not only do the whites provide contrast, they also help open up the space in this compact kitchen.

Anti-scratch Finish for Kitchen at DNR Atmosphere
dnr atmosphere-grey and white kitchen-anti-scratch finish for cabinets
When there is a kid at home, anti-scratch finish for cabinets help preserve them
dnr atmosphere-two toned kitchen design-profile handle designs

When we invest in kitchens, we invest for posterity. After all, it is the most used part of your home. Hence, it makes sense to ensure that it lasts you a good number of years. So Charul went with anti-scratch acrylic finish for the cabinets in this kitchen. Essentially, this allows you to scrub and clean the kitchen just as much as you want to. And considering there is a child in the house, preemptive measures against scratches are a good idea!

Quartz Countertop for Kitchen at DNR Atmosphere
dnr atmosphere-two toned kitchen design-quartz countertop designs
The white countertop matches the cabinets and backsplash
dnr atmosphere-two toned kitchen design-white quartz countertop designs

The shimmering white quartz countertop in this kitchen is one of its highlights. It makes the space look larger and goes well with the dark grey base cabinets as well as the light grey tiles on the backsplash.

Moroccan Tiles for Kitchen at DNR Atmosphere
dnr atmosphere-grey backsplash designs-moroccan tiles designs
The subtle patterns on the backsplash complement the colour scheme of the kitchen
dnr atmosphere-grey tile designs-moroccan tile designs

Smitakshi liked the idea of having Moroccan tiles for her kitchen, so she Charul used tiles with subtle grey patterns for the backsplash. They is a rustic beauty to these tiles that add glamour to an otherwise functional kitchen.

Kitchen Packed with Accessories at DNR Atmosphere
dnr atmosphere-two toned kitchen design-roller shutter unit designs
The kitchen has designated spaces for all modern appliances

This kitchen at DNR Atmosphere might be compact but it has everything you would expect to find in a contemporary kitchen. There is a roller shutter unit for appliances and the waste bin is also an integrated accessory for this kitchen. The Carysil sink is a highlight for its sleek black finish.

Breakfast Counter for Kitchen at DNR Atmosphere
dnr atmosphere-two toned kitchen design-breakfast counter designs
A compact kitchen that includes a breakfast counter is a rarity
dnr atmosphere-two toned kitchen design-white breakfast counter

There is a common belief that breakfast counters take up space and must be part of only large kitchens. However, Charul has managed to fit in a breakfast counter within a 100 sq feet kitchen. This cosy space is a continuation of the quartz countertop and can seat two people. It can also be used as additional working space.

“The family was extremely collaborative and understanding. They were receptive to any suggestion I made regarding design considerations. Working on their kitchen was a very pleasant experience for the design team.”
– Charul Lodha, Interior Designer, Livspace

She thought that the swing will add to the vibe around the house. The walls also flaunt interesting trims that add a nice detail to it. Richika made sure that she gives them sheer white drapes in both the rooms so that it opens up the space even more and looks dreamy. The bed was an existing one and it matches the theme of this room perfectly.

“It was amazing to work with Sonia and Rishi, since they are very creative and came with their own set of ideas. It’s always a delight to work for such clients. I enjoyed every bit of it and built a great rapport with them and they loved the designs I suggested.”

Located off the Western Express Highway, Oberoi Esquire is designed to take care of all your needs. You have to be one of the lucky few to own a home here and Jyoti Punja is one of them. Driving around in the maximum city can get to you and if you have a home with a view to come back to, it is just perfect. After acquiring this spacious 3BHK, Jyoti wanted to turn it into her happy place. While looking for options online, she came across Livspace and thought of giving it a try.

What we love about this home is the fact that it is so fresh and calm. When Jyoti met Sakshi Shetty, her designer, she told her that she wanted a home that celebrates peace and has no bright colours. Sakshi suggested a colour palette with soothing whites and greys and Jyoti nodded in agreement. She filled this home with muted tones, elegant finishes and ample space for their pets to goof around. Take a tour of this apartment at Oberoi Esquire and get a taste of heaven!

The main criteria while designing the living room was to have maximum seating, along with free floor space for easy movement. This living room has a huge window on one side, thus there’s ample natural light flowing in through it. The blue Chesterfield sofa introduces a pop of colour in this neutral room, while the chairs and bench make sure that at least 16-18 people can be accommodated here.

Another striking feature of this living room is the laminate TV unit finished in stone grey. Sakshi has used silver beading to create geometric patterns on the side. The base unit has shelves and cabinets that take care of storage and display.

Carrying over the elegance from the living room to the dining room, this space incorporates the same laminate finish from the TV unit on the wall. Stone grey laminate pairs effortlessly with the tinted glass panels on either side. The crockery unit is customised for the family and matched with the wall. The hero of this space is undoubtedly the dining table with back-painted glass and steel legs. The elegant chairs are also the perfect companions for this stunning piece.

“We loved the designs and presentations made by Sakshi and that is what made us go ahead with Livspace. We trusted her completely with our home and we couldn’t have imagined a more perfect design that this. Our project was completed and delivered on time and we would definitely recommend Livspace to our friends and family.”

The vibe in Jyoti’s room is very different and welcoming. Sakshi has used wooden tones in the wardrobe to make the room feel warmer and cosier. The plush blue wall paint behind the bed imparts a relaxing feel to this space. We love the full-height suede headboard which is upholstered to perfection and increases the height of the room visually.

Jyoti also likes relaxing with her favourite book and a cup of coffee by the window, so Sakshi gave her this wing chair and a footrest. Since she loves collecting paintings, you can see her favourite pieces of art displayed on the walls here.

This grey and white room belongs to Sanjana, Jyoti’s daughter who loves subtle colours and clean lines. There are so many pretty little things in this room that we don’t know where to start. As soon as you enter this room, you are hit by a pastel energy that flows throughout the room. A matte grey sliding door wardrobe and a sleek dresser complete with drawers takes care of storage. A seating-cum-storage is perched right next to the dresser that holds their cats essentials.

In her casual banter, Sakshi confesses that her favourite room at home is the guest bedroom that has the maximum floor space. Since Jyoti and Sanjana love reading, this room is dedicated to some quality time that they can spend with themselves. The bookshelf looks like a distressed piece of furniture, doesn’t it? Well, it is actually a wallpaper on the laminate unit. A cosy work desk forms a part of the unit. The wooden finish textured wallpaper imparts visual height to the room, whereas the sofa-cum-bed makes this room comfortable.

“Working on Jyoti Punja’s home has been one of the most rewarding experiences for me. I truly enjoyed designing each room and giving it a unique character. My personal favourite is the guest bedroom that is so bright and spacious. I hope they build amazing memories in their new home!”

An old house renovation that will turn heads!

Old House Renovation-living-room-sofas-coffee-table-rug-wallpaper
Breezy and refreshing hues splash the living room

Who livs here: Rishi Agarwal, his wife, their two kids, and his parents

Location: Gail Apartment, Sector 62, Noida

Size of home: 3BHK spanning 1,750 sq ft

Design team: Interior designer Payal Khetan Gupta

Livspace service: Full home design

Budget: ₹₹₹₹

We love home makeovers! Especially ones where there’s a lot of heart and history behind the walls. Rishi Agarwal and his family have been living in Gail Apartments, Noida, for more than 15 years now. While Rishi, his wife, their two children and his parents love their home, their interiors were no longer working for them. The old layout and outdated interiors were calling for a makeover. And we happily answered!

Our designer Payal Khetan Gupta was soon put to the mammoth task of revamping their entire home. From the ceiling to the flooring, and everything in between. And the end result is simply gorgeous! Let’s walk right in.

Old House Renovation-details
Old House Renovation: Minimal Foyer

Pendant lights greet you as soon you enter

The foyer is minimal and functional at best. While the shoe cabinet is part of the family’s existing set of furniture, Payal added accent lights and a stone-framed mirror for a bit of drama.

Old House Renovation: From Flat to Fresh!

If you ever needed inspiration to revamp your living room, this would be it! Flaunting a gorgeous light blue wallpaper as the backdrop, the living room basks under refreshingly breezy hues. While the beige sofas are part of their existing furniture, Payal put in a blue sofa-cum-bed for overnight guests and two floral ottomans for extra seating. Notice how the patterned rug offers a bit of texture to the space?

Since the earlier layout of the balcony wasn’t working for them anymore, Payal rehauled it completely and bought it in. As a result, the living room is a lot more brighter, especially with elegant false ceiling and vitrified flooring. A white jali has been placed to separate it from the dining room.

Old House Renovation: Elegant Dining

A white jali separates the dining from the living room

The design for the dining room revolves around the family’s original set of slate grey table and chairs. Since they wanted a large serving counter, Payal put in a buffet table that also doubles as a crockery unit. It’s been done up in dark laminate to exactly match with the dining set. We love how the space has been turned cosy and personal, thanks to the media wall.

“Our experience with Livspace has been a dream come true! Right from the designing stage to handover, Livspace team has done excellent work. We got all the desired results as promised. Great work from our designer Payal Khetan Gupta, ensured beautiful designs within our budget. Thank you, Livspace!”

Rishi Agarwal, Livspace Homeowner

Old House Renovation: From functional to a lot more!
Old House Renovation-before-after-pooja-wood-white-yellow-paint
Before and after of the pooja unit

Rishi’s parents preferred a pooja where they could sit down comfortably and pray. They didn’t want a wall-mounted unit. As a result, Payal crafted a sleek unit that fits into the corner. While the pooja unit was originally placed in the kitchen, a newly done up unit now sits in the dining room nook. To make it a personal sanctuary, she also added an elegant lattice jali to separate the section from the rest of the home. Moreover, the pop of orange serves as the perfect backdrop for the pooja space.

Old House Renovation: Out with the old and in with the new kitchen

kitchen-before-after-sink-yellow-cabinets-wood-drawers-lofts

Kitchen makeovers are everything! While their earlier kitchen had plenty of natural light pouring in, thanks to a balcony, the cabinets, layout and storage weren’t working for them anymore. So Payal designed a layout that was tailored to the family’s needs. The end result is a swanky kitchen with a separate station for working with electrical appliances and a wide sink.

Since storage was a priority for the family of six, our designer put in a tall unit, wicker baskets, lofts and cabinets all around. While the upper cabinets have been done in glossy yellow laminate, the bottom units are in matte dark brown. Payal took down the balcony and swapped it for a window that brightens up the space. Moreover, LED strips run under the upper cabinets for an even more well-lit place. The decorative backsplash tiles complete the look.

Old House Renovation: A bedroom from drab to fab

master-bedroom-before-after-study-wallpaper-wood

The master bedroom that once stood in wooden tones and has undergone major civil changes. It now stands in in beautiful neutral tones. With a subtle motif wallpaper as the backdrop, we love how relaxing the bedroom looks. Also, with three wardrobes, there’s no fear of losing precious storage space! While all of them have been done up in membrane, one wardrobe houses a TV unit in between and the other has a study built in it. The main wardrobe has been fitted with mirrors in the middle to give the room an illusion of more space.

Notice how the false ceiling has been designed differently? This has been cleverly done up to mask pipes and other wires.

Old House Renovation: A kid’s bedroom with everything!

The children love their newly done up bedroom. Flaunting an intriguing wallpaper for the centre wall, a patterned headboard and two wardrobes, there’s still enough room for them to play around. The navy blue membrane wardrobe has lacquered glass in the centre so that the kids could scribble, draw or pin up things as well.

Notice the yellow and navy blue unit? This houses a TV unit, study, storage and display features. Payal reveals that she purposely used a mix of light and dark colours to offer a sense of balance to the space.

Old House Renovation: Purple for the win

A floral wallpaper for the centre wall

Rishi’s parents bedroom has been kept minimal to offer them plenty of ground. Just like the earlier two bedrooms, this too has a wallpaper for the centre wall setting the ambience. While a balcony once stood here, Payal closed it and bought in a wide window. The study table and wardrobe has been done in glossy purple membrane. To keep things clean and clutter-free, she also put in open shelves for the parents to display a few of their essentials.

Old House Renovation: A splash of patterns for the bathroom

Decorative tiles as a pop of design

The common bathroom has been revamped to flaunt trendy designs now. Payal added a glass parition, a boho-inspired mirror and vanity storage. We especially love the patch of patterned tiles.

“It was amazing to work with Rishi and his family. They were extremely supportive and patient throughout the process. This project involved a lot of civil changes and the works, I am glad it turned out the way it did!”

A DLF Gurgaon home that slays it with neutrals.

Gradients of grey and steel blue provide a neutral setting to this living room

Who livs here: Neeraj & Meghna Gupta with their daughters Eesha & Eera

Location: DLF Park Towers, Gurgaon

Size of home: A 3BHK spanning sq ft 2,700 approx.

Design team: Interior Designer Shruti Modi & Project Manager Arti Arora

Livspace service: Full home design, kitchen and wardrobes excluded

Budget: ₹₹₹₹

This DLF Gurgaon home lacks nothing in terms of space. After all,  the 4BHK spans a whopping 2,700 sq ft! All it needed was the deft hand of Livspace to ensure that this expansive home was personalised to every family member’s needs and preferences. The family that lives here comprises Neeraj and Meghna as well as their two daughters, Eesha and Eera. Our interior designer Shruti Modi ensured that all their needs were met in decor.

Their DLF Gurgaon home stands out in muted colours just like Meghna wanted, while using a bit of colour in Eesha’s room to her liking. Also, for Eera who is passionate about dancing, Shruti designed a dance studio so that she could practice whenever she wanted!

Read on to know what more this amazing DLF Gurgaon home has to offer for its inhabitants!

Meghna was clear about one thing, she did not want to experiment with too many colours. In fact, she preferred to stick with neutrals as far as the common areas of the house were concerned. So, Shruti chose a palette of greys and steel blue for the living area. The sofa is a plush affair with matching ottomans and the entertainment unit is a floating cabinet, rather minimal in design.

The statue of Buddha in the red niche adds a tranquil vibe to the room

The only pop of colour we see in this area comes from the niche in the corner that is painted red. The statue of Buddha in this corner rests against a backdrop that complements the armchair. The scope of red in this living room is very little but Shruti has used a rich shade of crimson, which creates some interest in the otherwise muted setting.

“We had a very pleasant experience working with Livspace; their level of responsiveness and professionalism was commendable. A special shout out to our designer Shruti for bridging the gap between my taste and my wife’s, which are poles apart. Also, the electrical team deserves a mention for the amount of research they put into their work. They managed to make an imported video doorbell from the US work with Indian electrical configuration.”

The dining area comprises deep browns and beige
dlf gurgaon-wooden dining table designs-buddha decal designs
The mouldings and the Buddha decal blend in to make an interesting accent wall

Like the living area, the designer has steered clear of using colour in the dining area as well. The dining set is a solid wood piece with a classic contemporary vibe. The accents in the dining area are the mouldings on the wall coupled with panels of shimmering wallpaper. The centrepiece, of course, is an artsy decal of Buddha in a meditative pose.

The sleek crockery cabinet in the dining area matches the dining table in colour and style. Don’t miss the grey wall paint near the foyer that adds depth to the space without being too conspicuous.

dlf gurgaon-wooden flooring designs-minimal tv unit designs
Wooden flooring adds a touch of warmth to this room

Staying true to the wishes of the lady of the house, Shruti avoided using a bright colour scheme for the master bedroom. However, she managed to convince Meghna to try a subtle dose of grey. The moulding on the wall behind the bed adds texture to the space as does the abstract wallpaper. The bed and side table are in solid wood and come straight out of the Livspace catalogue. The TV unit and working desk are a mix of black, white and wooden tones; the variety of finishes is a deliberate attempt to avoid monotony in design.

Lilac and Lavender at DLF Gurgaon

The lavender colour of this room is refreshing and bright

Meghna preferred solid wood beds to upholstered ones; hence, the bed in the Eesha’s bedroom does not have an upholstered headboard. The elegance of a solid wood bed and side tables sets this room apart. This is the only room in this home that has a touch of vibrance in terms of colour. The delicate shade of lavender adds a refreshing touch to this room without going overboard.

Finally, we come to the highlight of this home, which is a full-fledged dance studio for Eera, a professional dancer in the making. Sporting wooden flooring with full-length mirrors on one wall, this room is a drool-worthy space to have at home for a practicing dancer. The white exposed brick wallpaper adds texture this room that is bare save the storage unit in one corner. The unit is a custom piece designed to fit Eera’s music system.

“The Guptas were very sorted as clients and moved quickly with their decisions. As they were reference clients, they were familiar with my work, making the design process smoother. They worked with the design team collaboratively to help us deliver the home they wanted.”

Compact, Budgeted & Stylish 2BHK!

These modern house images are design goals!

modern house images-living room-cream loveseat-modern centre table-side table
Let’s step foot into this compact and stylish 2BHK

Who livs here: Rinki Shetty with her husband Ritesh and their daughter Riya

Location: Poonam Kunj, Andheri East, Mumbai

Size of home: A 2BHK spanning 700 sq ft approx.

Design team: Interior Designer Sheetal Humbal and Project Manager Mayur Sanghavi

Livspace service: Full home design

Budget: ₹₹₹₹₹

Rinki Shetty along with her husband and daughter, were prepping to take on the maximum city by storm, even before they moved there from Ahmedabad. In true Mumbaikar fashion, they researched and planned their move meticulously, and got their interiors ready remotely. After a brief search online, they zeroed in on Livspace and started their design journey with us.

Sheetal Humbal, the designer assigned to this family, took on the responsibility of giving this rather dull home a swanky new look. “Though all the design discussions happened remotely, over phone calls and emails, it was not difficult to coordinate,” says Sheetal. Rinki was clear about having simple interiors but also wanted each corner of the home to be utilised. Read on to find out how this home took shape.

modern house images-infobox-client brief
Modern House Images: A Curated Foyer
modern house images-foyer-jaali divider-laminate shoe rack-bar unit
When there’s no dedicated foyer, we create one

There are foyers and there are curated foyers. This 2BHK directly opened up to the common areas of the home. Therefore, Sheetal decided to create a foyer by placing a laminate finish shoe rack against the backdrop of a jaali partition. That is some intelligent thinking, we must say! This is a great way to demarcate the entryway from the rest of the home. And, the shoe rack is, of course, a utilitarian piece of furniture.

Modern House Images: Leading to the Dining
modern house images-dining room-bench-dining table
A sneak peek into this compact and stylish home
modern house images-dining room-mirror wall panel-brown chairs-white dining table

The dining room is a popular pick from these modern house images. We love how Sheetal has opened up this area, visually, by using a mirror wall panel on the wall behind the dining table. Since this family entertained friends and family, they needed extra seating in the dining area. Sheetal suggested this bench that can accommodate more than two people. The chairs have been upholstered to perfection and look extremely comfortable.

Also, do not miss the full-fledged bar unit next to the dining table. This couple loves travelling around the world and they have a huge collection of curios from every place they have visited. This bar unit doubles up as a display unit for these collectibles. This laminate unit features open shelves on one side which are meant to hold their wine bottles. This is one power-packed unit, don’t you think?

modern house images-living room-loveseat-two seater sofa-centre table
modern house images-living room-laminate tv unit-frosted glass cabinets
modern house images-living room-magenta sofa-exposed brick wall-tripod lamp

It is not easy to design a living room that is subtle, yet striking. This space is filled with accent elements like an exposed brick wall, a trendy tripod floor lamp and stylish coffee tables. Against a sober backdrop, the bright magenta sofa steals the limelight with that pop of colour.

We love how Sheetal has made this compact space functional. From housing Ritesh’s huge collection of DVDs in the tall cabinet next to the sofa, to the elegant TV unit with frosted glass shutters and cabinets, storage has been taken care of without compromising aesthetics.

Modern House Images: The kitchen is a C-shaped wonder
modern house images-kitchen-c shape kitchen-red base units
A functional kitchen to suit the needs of a modern family
modern house images-kitchen-g4 countertop-laminate kitchen
modern house images-kitchen-hob unit-exposed brick tiles

A kitchen that’s both compact and trendy is a rare sight. Though there was a space crunch, our designer never compromised on its look. Rinki preferred a bright red colour for her kitchen, and Sheetal incorporated this into the design, albeit with a little twist. Only the base cabinets donne the bright red while the overhead cabinets sport white, making this kitchen look spacious. made sure she gave her exactly that, but only for the base units. Add to it the sleek steel handles and the exposed brick highlighter tiles, you’ve got yourself a design that’s a visual delight and also easy-to-maintain.

Props to Sheetal for using a G4 countertop that’s every neatness freak’s dream – easy to clean and maintain! In case you were wondering, it’s a type of nano white artificial marble imported from China. It’s tough and durable while being classy and white.

Modern House Images: A Niche for Divinity

This pooja unit is carved into a niche in the kitchen
modern house images-pooja unit in niche-laminate pooja unit

The only place at home where the family could have a pooja unit was the kitchen and Sheetal had to make space for it. She carved a niche and installed a jaali door for this unit within the kitchen. Another smart touch!

modern house images-client image-rinki shetty

“Sheetal’s designs and ideas were on point and our overall experience was great. We love our new home and it looks exactly as we had imagined it to be. All credit goes to Sheetal and the entire team at Livspace!”

modern house images-master bedroom-nailhead trim headboard-brown headboard
modern house images-master bedroom-laminate wardrobes-swing door wardrobe
modern house images-master bedroom-full mirror-dresser unit-frosted glass door

The modern house images of this master bedroom are simply stunning. The first thing you notice when you enter this room is the dark wooden flooring that looks so inviting. A biscotti-hued nailhead trim headboard adorns the bed. Sheetal separated the private utility area from the room with frosted glass doors. Don’t miss the full-length mirror that stands pretty, next to the tall storage units that act as a dresser for Rinki. White laminate wardrobes again add to the illusion of space in this home!

Modern House Images: A Dreamy Dollhouse

Designed especially for a little princess, this design in candy floss pink accommodate all her dollhouses. On one side you can see a pink and white study table complete with shelves and cabinets. On the other side, you can spot her very own dresser, also done up in pink. We love the cute polka dotted wallpaper behind the uniquely carved headboard. We don’t know about you, but Riya certainly looks like one happy camper!

“This was one of my first projects with Livspace and I am glad I could deliver. Rinki was very easy to deal with as she came with a clear ideas. She knew what she wanted and we took design decisions in unison. I have given them a combination of catalogue and custom furniture and made sure that all their requirements were met.”

Their idea of a perfect home also includes plenty of room for their 4-year-old daughter to play and their elderly parents to move around without stumbling on stray pieces of furniture.

Eventually, our designer Jyoti Phadke struck a chord with this well-travelled couple and they opted for end-to-end interiors from Livspace. Moreover, she used their penchant for handicrafts sourced from different parts of India to add personal touches to their home. The blending of ethnic accent pieces and modern design has made this sprawling 3BHK inherently functional and effortlessly chic. Take a tour of this beautiful home.

Their couches are essentially Western in style which matches the Spartan simplicity of their TV unit. The Rajasthani wood carving on the wall behind the L-shaped sofa is in stark contrast to the European vibe of the furniture. The panel of the TV unit and the highlight wall in the seating area are both shades of slate, adding continuity to the space.

Rohini and Keshav have a taste for temple art and their home is a testament to their artistic inclination. Rohini’s Mandala paintings grace the walls of the dinning space. Keshav’s chosen art form is photography and he has shot a series of ancient temples around Bengaluru. His works also find their way in various nooks and niches of their home. An assorted collection of brass artefacts is displayed on an open loft in the dining area just before the kitchen. These rustic collectibles gifted by Rohini’s mother serve as a surprisingly ethnic gateway to an ultra-modern kitchen.

Lounge with a View

Both Rohini and Keshav work for IT firms and they needed a space that would serve as a suitable workstation at home. Not to mention a nook for them to unwind after a long day. This lounge facing the balcony fits the bill for their needs to a T.

The French doors leading to the balcony meet at right angles; thus, this space has the best view in the entire house. And looking at the two comfy contour chairs with footrests here, all you want to do is just sink in! If that is not enough invitation to relax, there is a wall-mounted liquor cabinet and mini bar too! Drinks anybody?

The open kitchen with an island counter is the highlight of this home. The kitchen has three distinct areas: utility, a pantry fashioned from an unused room for household helps, and the cooking area with a hob and a chimney. The wall-mounted cabinets have silver grey membrane finish matching the colour of the Kalinga stone countertop. There are no shutter cabinets below waist-level, only drawers furnished in walnut finish membrane. This is for the convenience of Rohini’s in-laws, ensuring they do not have to bend down frequently to operate the lower cabinets.

There is a rather clever trash basket concealed within an unit by the sink. Rohini wanted this mechanism to be replicated from her workplace and Jyoti was happy to oblige. She also wanted specific cabinets for appliances like vacuum cleaners, which was provided from the Livspace modular range.

This island counter is a functional powerhouse

The real star of the kitchen and the house is the multi-functional island counter. The island was initially planned as a solo culinary work station for Keshav, who loves to cook and believes that too many cooks spoil the broth! However, it has turned out to be that and much more. The counter has a induction point in the centre that is used for light cooking, and it has modular storage too. The countertop of the island also conceals electrical plug points so Rohini and Keshav can plug in their laptops as they work while having breakfast or use electrical appliances like hand blenders for cooking.

The master bedroom stands out for its relative simplicity to the rest of the house. The solid wood bed and side tables are from our catalogue matching the warm wooden tones of the floor. The room has been furnished in a mix of muted sky blue and deep navy blue. A pair of tall floor lamps and an identical shorter pair of table lamps add a touch of glamour to the room.

Jyoti provided a dedicated workstation in the bedroom so that the couple can work in privacy. The cabinet next to the worktable is for storing linen. Rohini wanted to have plenty of mirrors in the room without making it cluttered. So, they opted for a wardrobe with mirrors for shutters. The mirrors also enhance the effect of natural light in the room.

Why step out to the beach, when you can sunbathe at home?

The room that belongs to Shambhavi is a bright and sunny haven. We fell in love with the sunbed created for her on the floor just by the full-length windows. Jyoti ensured that the little girl stays safe by reinforcing the windows with metal rods. As it is the 33rd floor, one can never be too careful!

Shambhavi has a tiered pull-out bed and her very own tent but the real attraction of her room is something else. She has a full-length soft board to pin up her favourite pictures and a similar-length whiteboard to embark on creative journeys. And what is best, she can do so without causing any damage to the walls in her room!

Grace and Beauty

The elderly couple in the house have a room that is graceful in its simplicity. Since the bed was part of their original furniture, everything else has been designed to match it. This is the only room in the house that has a bright yellow highlight wall which is a step away from the European colour scheme that was followed throughout.

modern design_wardrobe designs cast in niche

Rohini was very particular that the room should have no jutting edges or even heavy furniture that may cause her in-laws to stumble. Hence, Jyoti has placed the TV on a grey laminate panel and skipped shelves or open ledges altogether. Even the wardrobes in this room have been cast into niches to ensure that the mobility of the elderly couple is not interrupted.

A bathroom bathed in sunshine is a luxury indeed

Being on the 33rd floor has its perks. In this case, the perks include large bathroom windows with a hawk-eye view! The bathrooms are bathed in so much sunlight that the family has to pull down the shutters in the afternoon when it gets too warm.

One of the bathrooms has a shower cubicle and the other has a bathtub. Both the bathrooms have simple yet elegant fittings that concur with the taste of the family.

“Rohini and Keshav have great taste in furniture and an inherent sense of style. So, it was an absolute pleasure to work with them. There were no creative differences as our aesthetic sensibilities matched. It makes me very happy that I was able to design a classy and functional home just the way they wanted it.”

Simple kitchen designs for Indian homes that’s easy on the eye and on your pocket!

Simple kitchen designs for Indian homes-full-layout-before-after
From flat to fresh

Who livs here: Sumathi and her husband Sridharan

Location: Pioneer Plaza, Murgeshpalya, Bengaluru

Size of kitchen: 75 sq ft

Design team: Interior designer Sonia

Livspace service: Full home design

Budget: ₹₹₹₹₹

We love kitchen renovations! And this one holds a special place in our hearts. Mrs Sumathi and her husband Sridharan have been living in Pioneer Plaza, Bengaluru, for more than 20 years now. Both their mothers also live with them. So you could imagine how busy their kitchen can get! They wanted to update their well-used kitchen and add touches of elder-friendly elements as well so that everybody could use the kitchen without any hassle.

Our designer Sonia was soon put to the task of revamping their beloved kitchen. Mrs Sumathi had given few specific requirements that Sonia followed to the T.

The completely revamped kitchen now stands in beige and white

While Mrs Sumathi wanted a modern revamp, she also wanted it to be a simple design. Considering the age of the owners, it had to be easy-to-maintain with plenty of foot space. Most importantly, it had to fit within their stipulated budget. They also wanted plenty of storage, especially tucked away in cabinets. Their original kitchen had an open shelf ledge that ran on top of all the walls that wasn’t working for them anymore.

She had also mentioned the revamp must be aligned with the colours of the rest of the home. Above all, while not a design requirement, Mrs Sumathi was concerned that during renovation, all the dust would damage the furniture of the adjoining rooms. See for yourself the result and their experience.

Simple kitchen designs for Indian homes-family

“We really like our new kitchen. We were impressed with the Experience Center and decided to go ahead with Livspace and we are glad we did! All our requirements have been met.”

Sumathi, Livspace Homeowner

How we translated their ideas

Roller shutter and ample cabinets
Simple kitchen designs for Indian homes-open-shelves-drawers

Before starting all major civil changes, Sonia ensured all the furniture from the close rooms were covered in bubble wrap. She also put up a temporary partition at the kitchen entrance. “We wanted them to experience a comfortable renovation,” explains Sonia.

Since they wanted ample and concealed storage, Sonia put in cabinets all around. She took down the wide open shelf that ran along all the walls and swapped it for lofts. “We maximised storage space while carefully avoiding a very bulky look. We also put in closed units along with Vetrina, tall units and a roller shutter for electrical appliances,” she reveals.

Keeping up with the rest of the home, they picked light wheat and beige colours in laminate finish. For a pop of texture, she put in pixelated mosaic tiles of brown and beige for the backsplash.

How we made it eldery-friendly
Simple kitchen designs-upper-lower-cabinets-stove-backsplash
Grip handles are elder-friendly
kitchen-backsplash-tiles-granite-countertop

“We put in grip handles for the cabinets so that it’s easy to use,” Sonia explains. Mrs Sumathi was particular about the flooring, considering the age of everybody who lives in the home. As a result, Sonia used anti-skid flooring in beige.

Since Mrs Sumathi was interested to have a granite countertop for easy maintenance, they picked its Lakha red variant to keep it a little intriguing. Enough lighting was also very important for the family. Sonia took down the solid door to the utility room at the end of the kitchen and put in a door with glass panels. This way there’s a lot more sunlight pouring in as compared to their original kitchen.

“Being more than a 20-year-old building, we had to work through the demolition phase very carefully. Keeping in mind the client’s age as well as choices, every unit and every finish was meticulously detailed during planning. Mrs Sumathi was also very patient and understanding through the entire process. She was very forthcoming in selecting materials, taking calls and visiting the Experience Center. I ended up bonding very well with her during the course of the project. I hope her dream kitchen makes her routine comfortable!”

Whether you hang them in a corner, or make them the centre of attraction, hanging lights are perfect for any part of your home. From opulent cascading pendant lighting to contemporary light fixtures, we have rounded up some of the best designs from #LivspaceHomes to inspire you.

Designs for Hanging Lights #1: Opulent Wonder

Lights fit for a Mughal durbar

Awkward corners might leave you confused about how to use them. In this Livspace home, pendant lighting holds the two walls together and adds an element of luxury. The combination of gold and emerald green creates a regal ambience too.

Designs for Hanging Lights #2: Dainty Dreams
hanging lights-pendant lights for corner-grey wallpaper designs
A glowing bottle for your bedside

A night lamp might not be apt for a cosy bedroom that leans on accent walls and minimal decor. However, pendant lights are great space-savers, and they set the mood for a good night’s rest.

Designs for Hanging Lights #3: Best of Both Worlds
hanging lights-cube pendant lights designs-wooden breakfast counter designs
Angular lights for a contemporary home

Pendant lights with glass or fabric shades lend a classic charm to an open kitchen. The glass panels atop the breakfast counter allow light into the kitchen, and the wooden frames of this Livspace home are a pleasing contrast to the countertop.

Designs for Hanging Lights #4: Pattern on Pattern
hanging lights-pendant lights for corner-pink wallpaper designs
Edgy lights for a retro effect

This quirky wallpaper adds energy to the room and complements the fuchsia accents. The geometric, dichromatic lights break the monotony and draw our eyes to decoratives on the nightstand.

Designs for Hanging Lights #5: An Exotic Escapade
hanging lights-golden pendant lights-pink headboard designs
Add a golden glow to your bedside with these beauties

This bedroom has a middle Eastern look with two metallic pendant lights that bring the wallpaper to life. While the recurring pink theme contrasts with the traditional vibe, the yellow and white accents act as go-between colours to create harmony in the decor of this Livspace home

Designs for Hanging Lights #6: Bring Continuity in Design
hanging lights-pendant lights for corner-blue sofa designs
Simple cage light for a groovy effect

Grey hues complement the blues and greens in this space, while the pendant light adds a new dimension with its bold texture, instantly brightening up the corner.

Designs for Hanging Lights #7: Breakfast Under the Stars
hanging lights-black pendant lights-breakfast counter designs
The awesome threesome shine like stars in the night sky

Breakfast under pendant lighting is as good as dinner under the stars. This Livspace kitchen uses gold and brown metallic lights to extend the design from the walls to the heart of the kitchen.

Designs for Hanging Lights #8: Putting the fun in Functional
hanging lights-pendant lights for central lighting-wooden dining set designs
A centrepiece for any room, both functional and pretty

Pendant lights are perfect as a spotlights over functional spaces such as dining tables or reading nooks. A hemispherical dome design like we see in this Livspace home ensures that the light is evenly distributed, making the area well-lit and stylish too.

Designs for Hanging Lights #9: From Murky to Perky
hanging lights-pendant lights for corner-blue sofa designs
Luminous lights that fit an ornate setup

In this Livspace home, we swapped traditional light fixtures for shimmering gold-coloured pendant lights to illuminate a dark corner. Coupled with majestic armchairs, couches and a simple end table, these lights create an aura of flamboyance.

Designs for Hanging Lights #10: Make a Statement
hanging lights-shape light designs-nested stool designs
A play of light and shadows

In this monochrome room, the pendant lights serve as a statement piece when turned off, and add a new dimension with a play of shapes and shadow when they are on.

Designs for Hanging Lights #11: Two is Better Than one
hanging lights-statement lights designs-mirror panel designs
Glass case and metallic trims for a Parisian vibe

When pendant lights are large, it becomes hard to fit more than one or two. A reflective wall can give the illusion of a bigger space, and make the lighting look grand. In this Livspace home, the gold-coloured fixtures complement the white and gold table.

Designs for Hanging Lights #12: Layering Brown Tones
hanging lights-pendant lights for corner-blue wall designs
A wooden frame for this light ensures a textured effect

There is an inherent neatness about this space that gets highlighted by the white pendant light with a wooden frame. Designs with clean lines need tidy lighting to set them off.

This home at Jaypee Greens Noida is as grand as it gets!

jaypee greens noida-white sofa designs-black console designs
A crisply formal living area

Who livs here: Kavita & Suresh Bhatia

Location: Imperial Court, Jaypee Greens, Noida

Size of home: 4BHK spanning 4,000 sq ft approx.

Design team: Interior Designer Yashasvi Guleria and Project Manager Sandeep Jain

Livspace service: Full home design

Budget: ₹₹₹₹₹

Palatial, plush and yet playful at times, this home in Jaypee Greens Noida belongs to an elderly couple, Kavita and Suresh Bhatia. The couple have grown sons who are settled abroad, so they have this whopping 4,000 sq ft apartment all to themselves most of the time. For some people, a lack of space prompts families to seek an interior designer for proper space optimisation. In this case, too much space that needed structuring called for a deft hand at designing. Livspace designer Yashasvi Guleria was more than happy to step in and offer her expertise.

Following a few critical design changes stemming from insights provided by Kavita, this 4BHK in Jaypee Greens Noida is a sight to behold. Let’s walk you through this one of a kind home that will give you major design goals!

Welcome Tricks at Jaypee Greens Noida
jaypee greens noida-blue wall ideas-onyx tile designs
The foyer is both functional and aesthetically pleasing

Since the living room has a formal setup, Kavita wanted the foyer to have a casual seating option for a touch of balance. So Yashasvi added a wall-to-wall wooden bench, lending an air of privacy to this home. Also, she cleverly covered up the main switch board in the foyer with MDF panels. In addition, we loved the onyx tile details replicated on the wall to match the floor.

Wooden and gold ceiling details run through the breath of the living room

jaypee greens noida-white sofa designs-wallpaper designs
The console is the makeshift partition for this room

Once we venture beyond the foyer, we see a medley of design styles. The living area of this home is massive, thereby doing justice to the size of the home. But a living room this size could do with a partition to give it some much-needed structure. As Kavita did not want to install a bulky partition, Yashasvi used a glossy console with polymer finish to segregate the dining and seating areas. The crisp formality of the living room comes through in the choice of furniture that is suitably posh. In addition, the swing brings a breezy vibe to the space.

But the real showstoppers here are the ceiling and wall treatments. The ceiling has wooden beams and gold Duco paint details, which add a rather regal touch.. We were also impressed by the panels of shimmering wallpaper with profile lighting around them; they created quite an interesting effect on the statement wall.

Italian Fantasy at Jaypee Greens Noida

A classy Italian marble table sets the tone for this area
jaypee greens noida-marble dining set designs-breakfast counter designs
jaypee greens noida-marble dining set designs-onyx tile designs

The dining area of this home at Jaypee Greens Noida is a head-turner. The brightest feather in its cap is the imported one-piece Italian marble dining table that is classy par excellence. The ceiling details shine through in this area as well. A niche has been carved out of the wall here that mimics the wooden and gold details of the ceiling.

Modular Marvel at Jaypee Greens Noida
jaypee greens noida-quartz countertop designs-acrylic cabinet designs
A two-tones kitchen accentuated by a white quartz countertop
jaypee greens noida-quartz countertop designs-tall cabinet designs
jaypee greens noida-quartz countertop designs-breakfast counter designs

This kitchen had a closed layout but the designer decided to open it up and give the couple a cosy breakfast counter. Kavita’s kitchen is teeming with accessories including tall units for appliances and a pantry pullout for stocking up on groceries. The countertop is quartz that extends to the backsplash as well as breakfast counter. The cabinets in blue and grey have a glossy acrylic finish that befit the grandeur of the rest of the house.

Dainty & Devotional at Jaypee Greens Noida
jaypee greens noida-blue wallpaper designs-pooja room designs
A pretty and peppy pooja room

One of the several passages from the Bhatias’ mammoth living room lead us to their pooja room. The space is furnished with cabinets from the Livspace catalogue. It is easily the brightest room in this home with peppy yellow wall paint. This room also sports blue wallpaper that has morpankh (peacock feather) motifs, which alludes to the family’s devotion for Lord Krishna.

The Majestic Medusa at Jaypee Greens Noida
jaypee greens noida-wooden flooring designs-headboard designs
The Versace-inspired headboard rules the roost here
jaypee greens noida-wall moulding designs-headboard designs
jaypee greens noida-wooden flooring designs-wall moulding designs

The master bedroom speaks volumes about the personality of Kavita and Suresh. Not only are they classy, they’re also fun! How else could you explain the Versace-esque gold Medusa embossed on their headboard and side tables! Their taste in furniture is curiously quirky, and this adds flamboyance to the interiors of this room. We also fell in love with edgy wall lights on either the bed. Be it moulding on the wall or the wallpaper panels, nothing about this room is an average Joe; there is character in almost every piece of decor.

jaypee greens noida-walkin cabinet designs-grey acrylic wardrobe designs

The couple has opted for a walk-in closet with grey acrylic finish. Interestingly, they went for a floor-to-ceiling wardrobe without any lofts.

jaypee greens noida-vanity cabinet designs-wooden rafter designs

The bathroom and powder room are luxurious at a glance. When you look more closely, you realise that this space too is rich with finer details. For instance, the gold Duco paint borders that frame the vanity cabinets are rather neat.

Walnut Rush at Jaypee Greens Noida
jaypee greens noida-wooden flooring designs-wooden headboard designs
The warm walnut finishes in this room have a classy appeal
jaypee greens noida-wooden flooring designs-wooden panel designs
jaypee greens noida-wooden flooring designs-cushioned bench designs

The Bhatias have adult sons who provided Yashasvi their design inputs remotely. One of them has a weakness for warm wooden finishes. Hence, the designer has experimented with plenty of walnut brown in his bedroom. This home has a really high ceiling and Yashasvi has used the vertical space to create striking details. The bed in this room, for example, is low and the wooden panel behind it forms a canopy over it. The contrasting heights of the furniture and ceiling add a distinct edge to the decor.

jaypee greens noida-wooden flooring designs-minimal tv unit designs

The wooden panel used behind the bed appears again with the TV cabinet, making the room a cohesive unit. We also like the casual seating option offered by the cushioned bench in this bedroom.

Bohemian Blues at Jaypee Greens Noida

The drama around the headboard perks this room up!
jaypee greens noida-wooden flooring designs-wooden rafter designs
jaypee greens noida-wooden rafter designs-blue headboard designs
jaypee greens noida-wooden flooring designs-blue wallpaper designs

Yashasvi experimented with various gradients of blue in the bedroom for the couple’s second son. The full-length headboard is the focal point of this room for sure. However, there is a play of several other elements here. To begin with, the push-to-touch storage cabinets by the bedside integrate seamlessly with the headboard. One needs to pause and observe to realise that they are storage units. The wooden rafters on the ceiling add texture. Two different wallpapers have been used in this room and both use a combination of blues for a layered look.

“Kavita was very enthusiastic about the design process and gave her inputs wherever necessary. She took the initiative on her own to collaborate with the design team and this helped us add personal touches to this home. The scale of this project was massive, and it was a personal triumph to design a home replete with so many noteworthy details.”
Yashasvi Guleria, Interior Designer, Livspace

There’s the theatrical Kingdom of Dreams in Gurgaon and there is the real kingdom of dreams, that is this plush 4BHK at Ireo Victory Valley. Trust us when we say this because Ashpreet Sabherwal and Devesh Arya, the owners of this home truly believe it. Being a colourist, Ashpreet had a great understanding of colour combinations and wanted her home to mirror perfection. She briefed Megha Gupta, their designer, clearly about having a unique design that looks stunning and uses colours in the right way.

The family wanted every room of the home to be designed in such a way that it reflects the personality of each one of them. Right from the foyer to the bedrooms, Megha gave them designs that stand-out. While the entire home wears an earthy and subtle tone, you can spot bright specs of colours here and there. Read on and see how each room has been designed at this elegant Ireo Victory Valley home.

A stylish entry to this plush home

The entryway to this spacious home at Ireo Victory Valley is unique in itself. It leads to a long corridor which then leads to the different parts of this home. The walls on either side are decked up. On one wall you can see a shimmering gold wall art and on the opposite wall you can spot a sleek console table. Mirror panelling on the same wall makes a classic statement in this foyer.

The moment you step inside this massive living room, the first thing you notice in the warmth of neutral colours and wooden tones. While Chesterfield sofas and ottomans make this space every bit functional, the subtle self-design wallpaper looks elegant on opposite walls. Although this space receives abundant natural light, the statement floor lamp adds a dash of colour to this well-lit living room.

Take a nice look at the feature wall in this area. Ashpreet wanted an x-factor in this room and Megha came up with the brilliant idea of having metallic cubes with pretty planters in them. Right next to it, on one side sits the bar unit and on the other she has given them ladder-style display shelves along with ledges and cabinets. We are totally loving the vibe of this space.

The dining room at this Ireo Victory Valley apartment is a subtle style statement on its own. The family loves the lavender panel that runs from wall to ceiling and gives a sort of definition to this space. Drop lights and recessed lights illuminate this zone brilliantly, while the six-seater marble-top dining table looks classy and elegant.

“For us, home is a place where you come back after a tiring day at work and feel energised and positive the moment you step inside. The best part about getting our interiors done through Livspace was the fact they are very professional, yet they listen. They understand our needs clearly before starting the design process. We love lazing around in our new home!”

One of our favourite spots at home! Don’t you just want to leave all your work and sit here with a cuppa and get lost in your thoughts? Well, we surely want to. The view from this Ireo Victory Valley home is stunning and Megha made it worth it by throwing in artificial turf and cane furniture. The peppy planters are taking our breath away!

In Ashpreet’s words, “This is one of my favourite corners at home.” We couldn’t agree more. The very sight of this pooja corner is divine and calms our nerves. Thanks to the intricate jaali panel set in between a wooden structure. This pooja unit is customised with ledges for display and drawers for storage.

In a casual banter, Ashpreet tells us exactly how difficult it was to come to a consensus for their bedroom design. Majorly because she and her husband had completely different ideas. She being a colourist, wanted splashes of colour, while Devesh wanted milder tones in their master bedroom. Megha took charge and moulded the two ideas together to give the best of both worlds.

Megha gave them serene blue panels on the headboard wall with matching curtains. You can also spot hues of blue in the niche seating-cum-storage that she has created for them. Natural wooden tones take over the rest of the room, with wooden flooring and a classic wooden bed with side tables. A functional swing door wardrobe with lofts takes care of storage in their bedroom.

Ashpreet and Devesh wanted something very elegant for their parents’ bedroom. Therefore, Megha decided to give them a teal upholstered headboard against a subtle wallpaper. A hint of onion pink in the accent chair looks stunning in this space. Easy access is maintained through the open shelves beside the sliding door wardrobe with mirror panel in the centre. For the TV unit wall, she has kept it simple with a slate grey wall paint and a white unit with basic storage.

Manisha, Devesh’s sister, wanted an American theme for her bedroom, complete with sitting areas. Megha added a dash of freshness with the floral wallpaper behind the bed with wall mouldings and veneer panels running alongside it. Megha has created a nice sitting area with fuschia chairs and a cosy study area where she can sit and read or work. The closet area is separate, with a full-length mirror and laminate wardrobes.

Welcome to one of the brightest rooms at this Ireo Victory Valley apartment. The family is close-knit and enjoys spending time with each other in the evenings. The lounge room is their favourite spot when it comes to family-time. The diwan-style bed is big enough to accommodate all of them and Megha has given them extra seating by placing a wing chair and an ottoman on the side. The family can watch television together and have a nice time in this family room.

“I have kept the function, price, symbolism and significance of each design element in mind while designing this home. As a designer, I feel that the interiors for this home are very balanced with respect to design, aesthetics and functionality. Also, it was very easy to work with Ashpreet and Devesh, since they were very receptive to new ideas.”

Who livs here: Shika and her husband Sandeep Jain with their son Saksham and daughter Simran

Location: Vaswani Brentwood, Whitefield, Bengaluru

Size of home: 3BHK spanning 2,000 sq ft

Design team: Interior designer Vimla Suresh

Livspace service: Full home design

Budget: ₹₹₹₹₹

A sprawling home with lots of cosy nooks? Yes, please! When Shika Jain and her husband bought their new flat at Vaswani Brentwood, they had a mix of ideas of what sort of interiors they should get. While Sandeep preferred lots of grey and cool-toned colours, Shika wanted more lively hues for their 2000-odd sq ft Bengaluru home. Our designer Vimla Suresh decided to shake things up and put in both personalities.

The outcome? A gorgeous grey-toned home with a pop of colour in every room and topped with intriguing wall treatments. We especially love all the cosy seating options that makes you feel right at home. Let’s walk right in!

Vimla reveals you shouldn’t be greeted by a bare wall when you enter a home. As a result, she switched things up and turned the empty white wall into a wooden wall for a touch of warmth. Shika was particular that she wanted a space to display artefacts and other collectibles. So Vimla crowned the top of the wooden wall with open shelves and put in spotlights as well. The white laminate shoe cabinet offers ample storage and features a seating option too.

The living room is inviting at its best. While the family retained all their sofas, they decided to refurbish the divan into a striking orange pop. Of course, the next thing that catches your eye would be the accent wall flaunting a subtle wallpaper, a glossy storage cabinet, ledges and a sleek TV unit. All the modules have been topped with laminate finish for easy-maintenance. She centered the space with a patterned rug and dark coffee table.

Also, Vimla thought it was better to put in blinds than regular curtains to not lose out on all that abundant sunlight pouring into the home.

Sandeep was particular about having a dedicated space for his video games that he plays with his son. Being ardent readers, the family wanted a reading nook as well. As a result, Vimla crafted the perfect space for them with a large bookshelf. With jump-right-in sofas and a large bookshelf, who wouldn’t want to unwind in this space? Moreover, a wide teal shade makes the room even more snug!

Of course, the highlight of the space is the accent wall done up in an intriguing wallpaper and a backlit TV panel. This been cleverly done to conceal wires and power sockets.

“We wanted a designer’s touch to our new home. That’s why we approached Livspace. After reading reviews, visiting the Experience Center and talking to our designer Vimla Suresh, we were very impressed. It’s hard to pinpoint my favourite part of the home because I love everything that has been done. But if I have to say I love all the cosy nooks!”

For the dining space, the family wanted to retain their existing wooden set of table and chairs. To jazz things up, Vimla added custom-made accent lights above the dining table. A crockery cabinet in laminate slate grey stands beside the table with mirror panels. It’s been fitted with profile handles to create a seamless look. In addition, Vimla also put in a pooja unit in one end of the crockery unit.

Ample storage defines this kitchen

The kitchen, of course, is the heart of the home. And this kitchen had major civil changes to be perfect. A utility room was part of the kitchen which Vimla broke down to put in more space. In addition, they rearranged several working stations for optimum use of space.

There’s plenty of storage all around, which was a priority for the family. While the upper cabinets are in sparkle white membrane, the lower cabinets are in sparkle grey membrane. It complements the granite countertop that was provided by the builder. For a pop of colour, Vimla used an orange Duco paint for some of the lofts overhead. She also added patterned dado tiles to keep things interesting.

Vaswani Brentwood Flat Inspiration: Functional Passage

People tend to overlook the passage to the bedrooms and leave it bare. But the Jains wanted a personal touch to the space. As a result, Vimla put in an elegant wallpaper and a lone ledge to display collectibles. The family dressed the wall with photographs and now the space will definitely attract a closer look!

Vaswani Brentwood Flat Inspiration: Floral Dreams

The master bedroom basks in beautiful greys, browns and purple. Shika loves all things floral. As a result, Vimla used a soft floral wallpaper for the centre wall. To complement this, she picked purple for the curtains and other fabrics. “We used purple for soft furnishings so that the couple could have the option to change the colour in the future,” explains Vimla.

For storage, the couple has a sliding wardrobe in membrane and lacquered glass along with a walk-in wardrobe in white laminate. Since Sandeep wanted a study nook, Vimla added a fuss-free working station tucked into a corner with mounted wall cabinets.

Much like the master bedroom, Simran’s room is doused in light wooden hues with a pop of colour. This time in fiery red!

The centre wall of the bedroom is a mix of a laminate panel and floral wallpaper. This was done to conceal wires and cords. On the opposite side, stands a wardrobe in acacia laminate with lofts above. We especially love the pop of glossy red in the middle. A study unit is tucked perfectly beside it with a glass top. It flaunts the same polished red as a panel with mounted ledges to stash essentials. Moreover, the choice of intriguing blinds offer a sense of drama to the space as well.

Notice a ladder display unit beside the mirror? This doubles up as a dressing unit.

Saksham‘s bedroom is straight to the point. With a massive floor-to-ceiling wardrobe in Cappuccino grey and a matching study table in the corner, this room is functional at its best. To break the monotony, Vimla put in an artsy wallpaper for the centre wall. In addition, for an extra bit of seating, they added a teal blue sofa as well.

“In my 21 years of career, Shika and Sandeep are one of the best clients I have worked with. They were friendly, understanding and extremely cooperative. I loved the experience of designing their home!”
