A Crescent Bay apartment gets a stunning look!

This is such a refreshing sight to come home to

Who livs here: Aparupa Saha with her husband Sayak Maity

Location: Crescent Bay, Parel, Mumbai

Size of home: A 2BHK spanning 850 sq ft approx.

Design team: Interior Designer Pallavi Goel

Livspace service: Full home design

Budget: ₹₹₹₹₹

If you happen to keep up-to-date with the latest trends in interior design, chances are that you are going to want to change the look of your home frequently. Aparupa and Sayak, lawyers by profession, keep super busy and love keeping up with trends. The same applied to their home design at Crescent Bay. They contacted Livspace with the hope to get great ideas for their 2BHK.

Their designer, Pallavi Goel, met them just once to understand their requirements. Post that it was all done over the phone and things were finalised pretty smoothly. Aparupa was very sure about having loose furniture that is movable and can be updated with time. Bright specks of colour is accented by classic solid wood furniture that blends in seamlessly with the design. Take a tour to see how everything took shape.

If you look at the living room at this Crescent Bay apartment from a distance, the only thing that catches your attention is the sunshine yellow Cassandra sofa. But a closer look will help you understand why this room feels cozy and perfect. Pallavi made sure that she gave them furniture that is not attached to the wall. A solid wood bar unit sits pretty right next to the sofa, while the coffee and side tables look fetching with metal legs. We particularly love the wall art that complements the sofa so well.

Crescent Bay: A Wooden Bookshelf

This sleek bookshelf can store your world of books

Being ardent readers, this couple were particular about having a bookshelf at their Crescent Bay 2BHK. Pallavi gave them this handsome bookshelf that can accommodate their entire collection. It almost blends with the TV unit and feels like an extension of the same.

Crescent Bay: Statement Dining Room

A dining room like this one will make mealtimes more fun

The dining room at this Crescent Bay home is one space that looks like a separate zone in itself. Notice how a wallpaper can create distinction between common areas. This stunning wallpaper is an exquisite offering by Nilaya by Asian Paints. The print acts as the perfect backdrop for the classic wooden dining table set.

This kitchen is a complete modular offering and packs everything that a modular kitchen should have. Finished in matte-finish laminate, the subtle blue hue sets the right tone here. The jet black granite countertop is easy to clean and maintain, which was a major concern since this kitchen is going to be used by the help, most of the time.

Mimicking the New York Loft style of design, the master bedroom at this Crescent Bay apartment is a class apart. Pallavi has always been in love with exposed brick walls and she had to try it here since the couple was up for it. Flaunting a slightly sleek version of the rustic exposed brick effect, the accent wall looks stunning. The wooden flooring paired with mesh pendant lights complete the look.

The TV unit is super compact and extends to the dresser that is packed with storage. The upholstery on the tiny stool in front of it plays match with the drapes and completes the grey and white theme of this room.

This room at Crescent Bay is one of the most refreshing guest bedrooms we’ve seen in a while. Just look at the fresh wallpaper that gives the room such a beachy vibe. The compact study created by Pallavi flaunts mouldings and sets that corner apart. Sleek wooden ledges take care of display.

“This was a fun project to work on, since the clients were open to new ideas. The only challenge was the fact that they were very busy and sometimes coordination took a hit. But otherwise, I enjoyed working on this one!”

Clean lines and tasteful colours define this Lodha Group home.

lodha group-reading corner design-book shelf designs-reading chair for bedroom

Location: Lodha Fiorenza, Goregaon, Mumbai

Size of home: A 3BHK spanning 1,200 sq ft approx.

Design team: Interior Designer Pallavi Goel

Livspace service: Full home design (kitchen excluded)

Budget: ₹₹₹

Most Mumbai homes have a common streak; all of them try to use space in the best possible way. But we have a Lodha Group home that turns out to be an exception to the rule! This family living in Lodha Fiorenza did not want to put every nook and cranny to good use. In fact, they told Livspace interior designer Pallavi Goel that they would like to retain as much floor space as possible. So our designer skipped bulky storage items and heavy furnishings in the favour of sleek furniture and clean cuts, typical of contemporary design.

While the interiors had to be plush, the family also wanted their 3BHK in this prime Lodha Group property to have the look and feel of a home and not a hotel. Hence, Pallavi steered clear of glitter and gleam while designing this home. She avoided the clinical coldness of hotels by using a bold colour scheme that exudes the warmth of domestic bliss.

Explore this home in one of the finest Lodha Group properties to see how colours can transform a space when used tastefully.

Lodha Group Home: Cool & Contemporary Living Area

Blissfully blue
lodha group-living room designs-blue sofa designs-tufted sofa design

The living area has a laid back vibe that can be attributed to the comfy-looking tufted fabric couch. The vibrance of the royal blue couch stands out against a backdrop of the grey walls. The cushy Persian area rug also makes the living room look comfortable and not too formal.

lodha group-living room designs-blue sofa designs-floor lamp for living room

There aren’t too many frills or accent pieces in the living area save this artsy floor lamp that managed to catch our attention at once.

The whites to complement the blues

The entertainment cabinet has a white PU finish that balances out the blue tones of the sofa and carpet. The centre table and console have veneer surfaces and metallic structures. All in all, the colour balance of this living room is perfect and so is its aura.

Lodha Group Home: Floral Frenzy in Dining Area

A contemporary classic setup with floral patterns, whites and wooden finishes
lodha group-dining room designs-glass dining table-dining set for 6

The dining set is a contemporary classic comprising a glass-top dining table from our catalogue and custom-made chairs. The chairs are upholstered in fabric that has white, blue and yellow floral patterns. The entire set up looks sleek in the absence of a crockery cabinet that would have eaten into the space. The wall panels in the dining area of this Lodha Group property are made of MDF. They segregate the dining area within the living room in a very subtle way.

A splash of fiery red adds character to this room

The master bedroom is a testament to the fact that our designer has not shied away from using bold colours. Yet we do not see an overdose of any colour throughout the home. The glowing red of the wall panel is being balanced by the grey tufted headboard. The side tables have wooden finish to tone things down a notch.

There is a floating study desk opposite to the bed that is furnished with a muted grey and blue chair.

The reading corner in this bedroom is every bibliophile’s envy

But red leaves its mark again in the reading area. A flaming red armchair and Ottoman signify that the passion of this family is to read. And a sizeable collection of books on the wall-mounted shelves also proves that they are voracious reads.

We took a fancy to this uncanny metallic table lamp that looks rather Victorian in an otherwise contemporary setup.

The de facto kid’s room in this Lodha Group home belongs to a young adult. So Pallavi stayed clear from typical kid’s room colours. On the contrary, the room is blissfully blue with swathes of contemporary touches. The panelled headboard is greenish blue in colour, and it sets off the whites of the back painted glass shutters of the wardrobe to perfection.

This blue wallpaper adds a wooden texture to the sleek decor

The media wall facing the bed is the accent piece in the room. The wall here mimics a log cabin with it wooden texture. The varied gradients of blue also add texture to this space. A sleek and tidy wall-mounted TV cabinet adds a touch of softness as well.

The third bedroom in this home has an elderly inhabitant. However, the vibrance of the bohemian wall panel, which is the accent piece for the room, has made this space young at heart. The intricate black patterns of the panel set of the muted gold frame around it.

The wardrobe has a marble-like laminate finish making it antiquesque

The wall-to-wall wardrobe has a rustic laminate finish that mimics marble, giving it a rather antique look. The wardrobe has a lone glass shutter that functions as a dresser.

Keeping with the strategy of having more floor space throughout the apartment, the media wall in this bedroom is very utilitarian. The veneer finish of the cabinet matches the bed and helps maintain continuity in the room.

“The family was very clear about its requirements, and it helped me come up with a design strategy at the earliest. They were quick decision makers, which ensured that the design process was smooth and without hiccups.”

This flat at Godrej Homes is designed to entertain!

An inviting view welcomes you into this Godrej Homes apartment

Who livs here: Santosh Kharade with his wife Shilpa Kharade and their 13 yr-old daughter

Location: Godrej Central Shell Tower, Chembur, Mumbai

Size of home: A 3BHK spanning 900 sq ft approx.

Design team: Interior Designer Neeraja Gode and Project Manager Jinesh Rathod

Livspace service: Full home design (kitchen not included)

Budget: ₹₹₹₹₹

It’s a special feeling when you get possession of your first home together as a couple. For the Kharade family, it was one such experience after living in Mumbai for a long time. Each member of the family wanted their own personal corner in this Godrej Homes property and their designer, Neeraja had to oblige. Together, Santosh and Shilpa own an advertising agency and boast of refined taste in interiors.

When they met Neeraja for the first time, they were clear about having a muted colour palette at home. Although, they were biased towards neutral colours, they did not shy away from brighter hues. Since the family hosts a lot of friends they wanted dedicated zones for get-togethers. Entertainment also takes the front seat and thus, the largest room at home houses the home theatre system. Read on to see how each room has been designed brilliantly.

Godrej Homes: Made for Conversations

Nowadays, the concept of living room is evolving and it becoming that space where get-togethers take place. Conversations start from this room and thus it is essential to make this room at Godrej Homes, the centre of attraction. With this brief in mind, Neeraja went ahead and gave the family a huge cobalt blue sofa. Sitting right opposite the sofa are two wingback accent chairs that act as the perfect conversation starters.

Speaking about adding character to this space, do not miss the exposed brick wallpaper with wall shelves for display. Out of curiosity we quizzed Neeraja on the track lights on the ceiling above the sofa. Interestingly, these lights are installed to highlight the artwork that the couple create together and this wall acts as their canvas.

Santosh is very fond of hosting his friends and this dining room carries a touch of nostalgia for him. He was particular about having a bench on one side so that it reminds him of school lunches. How amazing is that? This sleek dining area at this Godrej Homes apartment comes with a laminate finish dining table and a full-fledged crockery unit.

The glass shutters are meant for exclusive crockery and the platform can be utilised as a buffet counter. The laminate panel on the ceiling gives that finishing touch to this space, while the pendant drop lights create soft focus here.

A room dedicated to relaxation and entertainment for family and friends

What’s a home without a fancy entertainment room? And when you love work and play equally, then the largest room at home deserves this space. This room at Godrej Homes is Santosh’s den and he loves entertaining his friends here. The huge study table is where he works when he’s working from home. Storage come easy, with overhead cabinets and wardrobes in place. LED strip lights under the cabinets are a great way to add ambient lighting in any room.

Neeraja has also carved out a pooja unit in this room, which is vastu-approved.

This bedroom features ample storage and still does not look heavy on the eyes
godrej homes-mumbai home-master bedroom-bed-wall sconces-upholstered headboard

The master bedroom at this Godrej Homes flat seems like a serene and calm room with wardrobes and lofts finished in laminate flanking the bed. Since this room is vastu-approved, the wardrobes were supposed to be built on this wall and the only way to add more storage was by giving wardrobes on either side of the bed. Wall sconces illuminate the niche perfectly.

Here comes Shilpa’s corner at home. This compact study corner at Godrej Homes has a sleek table and wall ledges that can hold books and curios. Recessed lights create soft focus on objects here. Right next to the study table is the concealed dresser, since vastu experts suggest against having exposed mirrors in any room.

Godrej Homes: A Compact Kid’s Room

A platform bed is the best choice for a space-crunched kid’s room
godrej homes-mumbai home-kids bedroom-kids platform bed-hidden dresser-laminate wardrobe
godrej homes-mumbai home-kids bedroom-kids study table-kids storage

This room at Godrej Homes belongs to Santosh and Shilpa’s daughter and we must say, Neeraja has done an excellent job at carving out maximum space here. A platform bed with storage and an extended laminate panel running above it, this is a cozy space for her to relax in. School-going kids demand a lot of storage for their books, bags and the works. Therefore, Neeraja decided to give her a study table with overhead cabinets and ample space to keep all her essentials close to her.

“Both, Santosh and Shilpa were very easy to work with, since they knew exactly what they wanted from the very beginning. There was minimum back and forth and the design was finalised very quickly. The execution was also very smooth and we handed over the home to them on time. It was a lovely experience for me!”

Wood & gold take the centrestage!

residential-interior-designers-in-mumbai-foyer-console-table-sofa-daybed-table

Who livs here: Giridhar Sharma and his mother

Location: Trishul -2, Versova, Andheri West, Mumbai

Size of home: 3BHK spanning 1, 200 sq ft

Design team: Interior designer Yogita Itkarkar

Livspace service: Full home design (except kitchen and one bedroom)

Budget: ₹₹₹₹₹

How would you want your dream home to look like? Maybe something bright or minimalist? For Giridhar Sharma it was plush comfort. That meant while the home should look luxurious, it also has to be homely. When he contacted us to get interiors done for his Andheri West flat, we were more than excited! Our designer Yogita Itkarkar was soon put up to the task of designing Giridhar’s picture-perfect home.

He was also particular about one thing. He wanted his home drizzled with smooth veneer finishes. In addition, hints of gold and earthy tones. We love how Yogita has followed the brief to the T.  Here’s the tour!

A Rich Welcome
residential-interior-designers-in-mumbai-foyer-wood-gold-console-table
A custom-made console table on golden curved legs

The entrance alone is a giveaway to the partiality towards veneer and gold tones. The white PU painted console table standing on golden curved legs is the first thing that greets you. Moreover, this is a custom-made unit that has been crafted on site. Notice the wooden column that acts as a divider between the living room sections? It adds a touch of warmth, thanks to its veneer finish.

Comforting Chocolate Browns

residential-interior-designers-in-mumbai-living-room-sofas-light-kajaria-wall

The living room is dressed in gorgeous elements. It’s been made designed into a spacious layout, thanks to the merging of a bedroom with the living room. While one section flaunts ample seating options, the other section hosts the TV unit. We love how Yogita has chosen different colours for all four seating options. Whether it’s the powder blue tufted sofa, the Persian blue daybed or the dark chocolate-hued armchairs, you are spoiled for choice!

While the attention certainly goes to all the sofas, once you take a glance at the accent wall, it surely captivates your attention. Its rustic nature is thanks to the use of Kajaria wall tiles. After that, it’s been lined with gold strips to add a bit more detail. “We picked the dark chocolate armchairs to match with the rustic wall accent,” Yogita explains.

The TV is mounted on a subtle wallpaper. Also, it features the same gold strips just like the rustic accent wall. It holds white shelves done up in matte membrane. In addition, the unit below is in wooden membrane. In addition, all these luxe elements bask under an elegant false ceiling.

Glitzy Bar Nook

residential-interior-designers-in-mumbai-bar-blue-stool-mirror-light-table-gold
residential-interior-designers-in-mumbai-bar-dining-chairs-wooden-wall-table

We love nooks that make a statement. And this bar space certainly does make the mark! The counter top is a marvel alone. While its been done up in Corian stone, it’s also been fitted with lights inside. The velvet upholstered bar stools are custom-made. After that, Yogita put in two pendant lights to set an inviting ambience.

A dining nook with the right amount of warmth and aesthetics

While being functional, dining rooms also need to be uber comfy. Afterall, this is where most families love to talk about their day! As a result, Yogita crafted a warm dining nook. The upholstered chairs perfectly pair with the wide Chevron wooden table. Also, if you look closely, you would notice how Yogita used the window space and put in a cushioned seat for extra seating. An additional column has also been put in with three niches in veneer to display crockery.

Pretty in Purple

Dreamy hues of wine splashes throughout the bedroom
purple-gold-swing-curtains

The bedroom stands out in dreamy hues of deep wine. Flaunting a velvet headboard, the bed certainly looks chic in style. But the highlight of this room is the gold-toned swing with a velvet cushion in the same purple hue as the headboard. After that, an accent wall made of hexagon ceramic tiles come in a close second. A minimal chest of drawers in white PU paint adds a touch of softness to the space as well.

The wardrobe is in white acrylic. For an extra bit of storage, lofts have been placed as well. In addition, Yogita put in a white dressing unit that has been done up in PU paint. And, above all, the unit is fitted with lights for a little drama.

“Since the family wanted a plush home with comfort and warmth, I worked with veneer and luxe fabrics. I am happy the family loved the outcome.”

Size of home: A 3BHK spanning 950 sq ft approx.

Design team: Interior Designer Pooja Shah and Project Manager Naresh Bees

Livspace service: Full home design

Budget: ₹₹₹₹₹

This home had us at the swirling marble-feel feature walls! While you scroll through the hometour, you will notice the wonderful use of pretty marble-like patterns being used in various places. There are so many pieces of furniture that the Mehtas have retained, and we love how they become a part of the new design.

Having lived in the Parsi Colony for years, Rushad and his parents decided that it was time to move to a newer locale with a fresh new home. Working with the Indian Navy left little scope for Rushad to be too invested in the interiors for his new home. Therefore, Livspace, the best interior designers in Mumbai, worked perfectly well for him since we could handle end-to-end services for them. Rushad wanted to get this 3BHK designed specially for his parents, since he’s a visiting member and this home had to be super comfortable for them to live in. Pooja Shah, their designer, ticked all the boxes when it came to their requirements. Read on to find out how she made this home livable and easy to maintain.

Every room has one element that attracts maximum attention. What is that one striking feature in this living room? We, the best interior designers in Mumbai, feel that it is the marble-esque tiles behind the TV unit, that act as the feature wall behind the TV unit. Rushad loves the intriguing patterns that marble possesses and was keen on having this in various spots at home. A basic laminate finish TV unit with panels on either side of the television complete the look.

Best Interior Designers in Mumbai: Simply Splendid

A marble-top dining table and simple walls pair beautifully here

The dining room by the best interior designers in Mumbai in this 3BHK is simple and elegant. A wooden, marble-top table with matching chairs make for the perfect accessories here. Pooja made sure that she doesn’t take the attention away from the sleek furniture. Thus,  she painted the walls in pretty neutrals.

“My home looks exactly how I had imagined it and it is a great accomplishment by the entire team at Livspace. I had a positive feeling about this from the very beginning and Pooja, my designer, was amazing at her work. My budget constraints were accepted gracefully. From the furniture to the entire design team, everything is a huge plus with Livspace. I will definitely recommend it to everyone!”

A major part of the brief that Pooja received from Rushad was to keep the interiors very comfortable for his parents. Therefore, this kitchen designed by the best interior designers in Mumbai, has all the essential modules that are required on a daily basis. High gloss laminate finish in hazelnut is what she chose for the cabinets.

Talking about ease of use and maintenance, Pooja points out a few things. The Kalinga stone countertop and high gloss shutters are a breeze to clean. She has also given them lofts that make this kitchen score high on storage and functionality.

In a fun banter, Pooja mentioned that this is her favourite room at home and she experimented quite a lot in here. Since this room receives abundant sunlight, she decided to give them a combination of white and dark biscotti.  These colours bounce light off and illuminates the space.

Storage and display are the heroes here, with glossy swing door wardrobes that have a stylish niche in between. Also, do not miss the strategic niches in the headboard that add to the display factor of this room. We are crushing on the little Moroccan detail in the cascading pendant lights just next to the dresser.

This room belongs to Rushad’s parents, hence it had to be built for comfort and ease. Dark laminate finish pairs with blue to create an interesting colour combination here. A full-length upholstered headboard plays up the style quotient. Wall lamps make sure that they do not use surface space on the side tables.

Mirror panels on the wardrobes break monotony. They do not hinder with the vastu guidelines for this room.

Coming to Rushad’s room, the most striking element here is the marble tile headboard wall. He was sure about having a sort of a feature wall in his room and this is the best that Pooja could do. A sliding door wardrobe saves space, while the compact TV unit is perfect for this space.

“It was very easy to work with Rushad and his parents since they were open to new ideas and allowed experimentation. Communication was also a breeze since they were always ready for discussions. I enjoyed designing every bit of this home.”

-Pooja Shah, Interior Designer, Livspace

Who livs here: Novita Arora with her husband and son

Location: Ireo Victory Valley, Gurgaon

Size of home: 4BHK spanning 2,100 sq ft approx.

Design team: Interior Designer Sushant Madan & Project Manager Taranjeet Singh

Livspace service: Full home design (kitchen excluded)

Budget: ₹₹₹₹₹

All that the Aroras knew when they wanted to do interiors for their new home was that it should be a vibrant space with zesty colours. So they hired from the best interior designers in Gurgaon, to give them a home that would be as spirited as they are. Livspace designer Sushant Madan, had a core design strategy; he wanted to break the monotony of browns and beiges in the flooring provided by the builders for this 4BHK.

The rest, as they say, is history. Not only did our designer experiment with a variety of shades in this home, he also added plenty of character by alternating with textures and materials. Take a sneak peak to see how this gorgeous home was designed.

Best Interior Designers in Gurgaon Design: Blue & Beautiful Living Area

Several pops of colours in the living area

The living area in this spacious 4BHK is a riot of colours. On one side, there is aqua blue 3-seater sofa from the Livspace catalogue. Facing the sofa are two comfy armchairs that sport contemporary prints. By the French windows, there is a crimsom tufted ottoman that stands out. To balance out the deluge of colours, there is a rather utilitarian centre table with a metal base and dark wood top.

The corner is highlighting by a quaint cluster of golden pendant lights that hang over a daintily rounded side table. The living area is covered in textured metallic grey paint with golden stripes.

The display unit has a clean-cut contemporary design

The defining theme of the living room is an aquarium, a prized possession for the family. Thus, the living room has been designed in such a way that the aquarium gets a central position and maximum visibility. Hence, contemporary display unit from our catalogue, made of MDF, is placed adjacent to the living area. It holds this aquarium along with other collectibles.

A rather dramatic partition segregates the dining area from the living. This monochromatic partition has a rose gold frame fitted with lacquered glass, duco paint and laminate. The design and colours of this piece have been borrowed from the bar unit in the dining area. The metal frame is an attempt to maintain continuity as it mimics the display unit in the living area. The dining set has four chairs and a bench that were picked from our catalogue.

The monochrome magic spills over into the passage adjoining the dining area as well. A crockery cabinet has been cast into a niche here, and it makes use of black and white laminate finish for a checquered look. Profile lighting has added an interesting edge to this corridor.

Best Interior Designers in Gurgaon Design: Breezy Brown Master Bedroom

The master bedroom mostly has muted neutrals with a pop of orange coming from the armchair

The master bedroom has copious amounts of browns and yet it does not get monotonous because Sushant has added plenty of texture.

The bed, which is from our catalogue, has a leatherette headboard. Consequently, the same brown has been used as a tint in the mirror panels next to the bed. Moreover, the brown tinted mirror panels are glammed up by rustic pendant lights. The wallpaper behind the bed has abstract patterns using gradients of beige, brown and white.

This bedroom has a full-fledged walk-in wardrobe which goes with the swanky vibe of the rest of the home.

The orange tufted armchair is the only element that pops in this room. The lone chair adds a dash of energy to the otherwise muted shades of this space.

Meanwhile, the media wall in this room is a simple affair with a grey laminate panel. Eventually, it spills over into a small study table that has been furnished with a working chair.

Best Interior Designers in Gurgaon Design: Boisterous Blue Bedroom

Bright blues dominate the colour scheme in this room

As one of the best interior designers in Gurgaon, Sushant has designed the kid’s room with panache. The teenage son of the Aroras has one of the best rooms in this home to himself. Thankfully, the boisterous blues in this room are ideal for a spirited young boy. The bed has a symmetrical deep blue headboard. We love the ladder unit in the corner and the shelf just above the bed that is stacked with books.

The five-door wardrobe in the room has lofts and usual profile handles. The powder blue membrane finish of this cabinet adds both texture and depth to the colour palate of this room.

The bench by the window doubles up as a shoe cabinet

The study table and cushioned bay seating are the edgy elements in this kid’s room. The bay seat by the window is actually a cushioned bench that also has storage counters for shoes.

The blue and white study unit has an angular presence due to its slanting ramps. All in all, this room is full of ‘oomph’ and its quirkiness is endearing.

Best Interior Designers in Gurgaon Design: Bold & Beautiful Entertainment Room

The entertainment room in this home is a plush setup with two super cosy recliners in tan leatherette. But the main feature in this room is the display-cum-entertainment unit, which is a potpourri of materials and finishes. Moreover, the frame is MDF and its joints have been painted with Duco paint to give it a smooth look. Moreover, the bright yellow shutters are laminate and the shutters of the base unit are black lacquered glass.

The newsprint wallpaper adds an edge to this entertainment room

The vibrant yellow of the display unit is toned down by the subtle newsprint wallpaper behind the recliners. The centre table is also a simple piece composed of MDF frame and wooden top. This room also has a floating work desk so that family can enjoy quality time together even as they check their mail or finish some work on their laptops.

Best Interior Designers in Gurgaon Design: Ethereal White Pooja Counter

A compact pooja unit has been fitted into the guest bedroom

The family did not want a very elaborate pooja unit, so Sushant installed a compact one in the guest bedroom. This is a typical Indian pooja unit with a latticed jaali. It has an interesting back-lit light source and drawers for storage. This room also flaunts a fancy moulded wall with gold trimmings.

“The family was very friendly and open to suggestions, making it very easy to work with them. They did not have mind blocks about using any type of colours or designs, so I could experiment with a variety of colour schemes, materials and finishes. In the end, I could deliver a vibrant home just as they wanted it to be.”

Location: Aspen Park, Cama Industrial Estate, Mumbai

“A home that feels homely,” that’s how Aniket Paswan and his wife Komal Sharma described their dream interiors to us. After living in a rented home for seven years, Aniket knew exactly what he wanted for his swanky new abode in Vasant Utsav society, Mumbai. “I wanted to come back home from work and feel at ease. I wanted full home interiors as well, the complete package, so I don’t have to run after several things. That’s when I approached Livspace,” he reveals in conversation with us.

A meeting with our interior designer Subair Merchant soon entailed. Now their 600 sq ft home embodies comfortable living. And it’s chic too! Subair packed in modular solutions for the living and bedrooms so that everything is easy and low on maintenance as well. Here’s the tour!

Cosy & Smart Living

The living room is minimal at its best. Of course, the highlight is a berry-hued sofa-cum-bed with a matching chaise. Behind this is a subtle wallpaper with golden finish.

The TV unit is compact and stands in ebony laminate. For a seamless look, Subair chose a soft closing option for the drawers. We love how the TV is mounted several inches off the floor to give the room more breathing space.

To complete the look, Aniket and Komal put in the centre table from their existing furniture as well. Notice the flooring? It’s been topped off with vinyl sheet to give it a plush and bright appearance.

Ample Storage for the Kitchen

Since the couple was quite happy about their existing kitchen, they requested just an additional thing – more storage. As a result, Subair put in extra cabinets under the granite counter. These match exactly with the rest of the wheat oak laminate cabinets.

“We’ve always wanted a home that was warm and welcoming, especially after having lived in a rented house for seven years. You begin to build an image of a beautiful home where you can unwind with family. That’s what we had in mind when we approached Livspace. Looking at our decorated home now, I feel our dream has come true!”

The guest bedroom is doused in soft hues. We love how the light pinkish walls bask under all the sunlight pouring into this room. While the bed is from the couple’s existing set of furniture, Subair added a wardrobe from the Livspace catalogue. The white membrane wardrobe features lofts as well for extra storage. The pop of cherry red for the drawers complements the blushing walls of this room.

The master bedroom is the couple’s favourite part of the house. Thanks to the choice of soothing colours! A cushioned headboard in blue transforms the room into an uber comfy space. It’s been mounted on a subtle floral wallpaper. The compact TV unit in laminate neatly snugs into a corner.

The bedroom has been fitted with a sparkle white membrane wardrobe. In addition, it flaunts a dressing unit with a mirror in one end.

“Working for Mr. Aniket was a delightful experience overall. After understanding their requirements, the design went very smoothly. The clients were very much involved in the entire process and very prompt in making decisions. The best part of the entire design was adding extra cabinets under the island countertop. Since it’s an open kitchen, this step made the space more cosy.”

A striking sofa and an elaborate TV unit welcome you into this home

Who livs here: Mahantesh with his wife Sunaina and their daughter Neeharika

Design team: Interior Designer Waheda Begum and Project Manager Guru Vinayak

Livspace service: Full home design

Budget: ₹₹₹₹₹

If you ask us, we would say that this home is one of the most cheerful homes we’ve seen in the recent past. When Mahantesh and Sunaina, both IT professionals, started looking out for interior designers, they had no clue about their options. Their requirements were simple — clean, spacious and budget-friendly interiors.

In stepped Waheda Begum, their designer who was going to take charge of their home. This is a home that was conceptualised by the designer and presented in the form of 3D renders to the clients. While reading through the hometour, you will find out that the home is a replica of the renders. It just goes to show how much of facilitation this process is to both the designer and the client. They can see their home on the screen even before it is ready. Filled with some exotic colours and concepts, this 3BHK is a winner in every sense of the word.

This living room is an exact copy of the 3D design

This spacious 3BHK welcomes you with a bright living room that is meant to be the centre of all activity for the family. Since the family lead hectic lives, they were specific about having a certain vibe in the living room. Waheda made sure she gave them a robust sofa in cobalt blue, that stand on splayed legs making it easy to clean underneath. She also added an accent chair with fresh floral upholstery and gave them matching ottomans that hide under the centre table.

Another striking element in this space is the modular TV unit that has a custom section to keep to the set-top box. The rest of it flaunts push-to-open drawers and display ledges. This unit is entirely finished in laminate that goes very well with the rustic wallpaper behind it. Spot lights create the right focus here. Also, do not miss the statement gold foil wall art on the olive green wall.

Home Bangalore: Of Gallery Walls and Pooja Rooms

Mahantesh was very keen on having one wall at home Bangalore that is dedicated to the family. Therefore, this family fondly calls this wall in the gallery as the memory wall. You can spot some amazing family photos on this aqua blue wall. The cabinet next to it with an appealing jaali door is the pooja unit which fits here perfectly.

We love how the 3D design has transformed to reality in this dining room

Doesn’t this dining room give you major cafe feels? It does to us for sure! This is the family’s zone to relax and enjoy meals together. They are particularly fond of cafe-style interiors and wanted something similar for their dining area. Thus, Waheda suggested this rustic jeep-style wall installation on the olive green wall. She made sure that it blends with the dining table set that the family retained from their old home.

Also, do not miss the sleek wooden partition that has shelves in between to display curios in style. This partition doubles up as the bar unit accessible from the dining room for those get-togethers.

This modular kitchen is completely acrylic and we love the shades of red and grey that Waheda has used here. She has followed the golden triangle (where the hob, sink and refrigerator are placed efficiently) for placing the work zones and vastu shastra rules have also been considered. The dado tiles in the backsplash are something that the clients selected. Lofts make this kitchen storage-intensive and easy-to-use.

The perfect example of how clients can see their home on the screen before it is executed

The master bedroom in this 3BHK defines simplicity and calm in every sense of the words. The couple wanted a room that feels soothing at the end of the day. The highlight of this room is definitely the pristine white bed. It looks sleek as well as sublime in this compact room. The neutral colours open up the room and make it appear larger.

Waheda gave them a combination of white and grey for the wardrobe, with sleek handles for ease of use. A cosy dresser featuring push-to-open drawers, find its way next to it. To make things a little more interesting, she gave them a wallpaper behind the bed. Also, since the bedroom doesn’t have a television, to make up for the empty wall space, she gave them ledges for display.

“We moved from a villa to an apartment and we wanted our new home to look beautiful. Waheda, our designer took us around to see homes designed by Livspace and that gave us more confidence to go ahead with our decision. We could see our home in the renders that she created and we loved the designs that she gave us.”

Done up in tasteful wooden tones, the bed and side tables play match with the wardrobe. Waheda added a dash oh cheer here, with the pretty floral wallpaper that makes for the accent wall.

We created the same design in reality for this kid’s room

The kid’s bedroom at this home Bangalore is an exact replica of the 3D designs that Waheda had shared with the clients. Mahantesh and Sunaina’s daughter loves the banana loving characters, thus, Waheda had to create a minion-themed room for her. And as expected, the room catches your attention the moment you step foot inside.

The wall behind the bed has all her favourite minions framed and hung as a collage. The study table is no less than a wonder! Look at that alphabet inscribed unit, doesn’t it look wonderful? The chalkboard and soft-board next to each other are perfect for keeping track of homework and activities alike.

“Mahantesh and Sunaina were very easy to deal with. They gave us clear direction as far as the designs were concerned. This is a true example of render to reality and how everything can be finalised in the designing phase itself. It was so much fun to work on this one.”

This home in Hyderabad spells understated elegance.

sofa designs-cabinet designs for living room-wooden flooring designs

Who livs here: Srikanth with his wife and two daughters

Location: Udaya Adithi Apartments, Gandhinagar, Hyderabad

Size of home: A 3BHK spanning 1,400 sq ft approx.

Design team: Interior Designer Shikha Agarwal and Project Manager Uday Kumar

Livspace service: Full home design

Budget: ₹₹₹₹₹

Wooden interiors have vintage value. We naturally associate wood with traditional furniture that is expensive and will last for generations. But this particular Hyderabad home decided to take it up a notch and paired wooden finishes with contemporary designs.

Srikanth and his family wanted their new 3BHK to have wooden flooring, something they always fancied. Our interior designer Shikha Agarwal took it up from there and gave them a homely and clutter-free design that is inspired by some elements of minimalism. However, she gave the home a twist by using a mix of wooden shades and textures to keep things interesting. Moreover, this Hyderabad home was designed on a tight budget, which busts the myth that wooden finishes are always expensive.

Take a tour of this home rich in warm wooden tones and be inspired.

Minimal & Graceful Home in Hyderabad
sofa designs-carpet designs-wooden flooring designs
A refreshingly simple living room

Timber, in itself, is a very heavy material that weighs down space. As the flooring of this home in Hyderabad was done completely with vitrified wood-finish tiles, the furniture had to be light. The fabric sofa set is from the Livspace catalogue and spells simplicity with grace. The centre table has a wooden base for the purpose of continuity but it also has a glass top for variety.

The cabinet by the window is for the family to store miscellaneous items like newspapers and magazines. Since it’s low in height, it doesn’t take up vertical space.

The media wall in this home in Hyderabad is clean-cut and minimal. The panel on the wall stands out for its dark veneer finish. It also has grooves for texture. Meanwhile, the base cabinets and shelves have white laminate finish to bring in the element of contrast.

Vintage Dining Space of This Home in Hyderabad

The dining space in this home in Hyderabad is compact and opens into the kitchen. The four-seater dining table has the same combination of a wooden base and glass top like the centre table. The chairs here match the custom-made tall crockery cabinet in the dining space. We love the vintage vibe in this area as the designs have an old world charm to them.

The kitchen in this 3BHK is an open one. It has a functional island counter that has a combination of open ledges and shuttered storage space. It also serves as a breakfast counter and is equipped with two stools. Did you notice the wooden rafters on the ceiling? Well, they are not made of solid wood, but have been painted to give the kitchen its share of wooden finishes. And guess what, these rafters will not burn a hole in your pocket!

The kitchen is a compact space that follows the golden triangle rule of having the hob, basin and refrigerator in a triangular space. The base cabinets in the kitchen are grey while the wall cabinets are white. This colour scheme is rather European and has a classical contemporary effect. The tiles of the backsplash are also very contemporary with a groovy vibe.

Srikanth and his wife were not too keen to experiment with colours so the master bedroom is done up in white and woody shades, with a combination of sheer and artsy floral blinds. The bed equipped with storage has a mahogany finish and the sliding wardrobe has a strip of tinted mirrors giving it a modern edge.

Best of Livspace Kitchens Under ₹3 Lakh

$

Home is where the ‘hearth’ is, they say, and rightly so! An Indian kitchen is undeniably the heart of the household. Most interior designers would advise you to invest wisely in your kitchen and not without cause. Afterall, it’s the kitchen that bears the maximum wear and tear by virtue of its function. However, it is a misconception that kitchen furnishings are either expensive or not up to the mark. Just like any other kind of interiors, Indian kitchen interiors are subject to their use. You can naturally customise your kitchen depending on how much and how intensively you use it.

The crux of the matter is that it is possible to get functional, and even ornamental kitchen interiors on a budget. To illustrate, we have picked the best of Livspace kitchens that cost under ₹3 lakhs.

Indian Kitchen on Budget #1: Bright & Breezy Makeover in Mumbai

Country-style kitchen with a pop of red gets plenty of natural light
indian kitchen-country style kitchen-blackboard for kitchen
The blackboard wall is both novel and cost-saving

Girish and Amruta Parulkar renovated their 14-year old kitchen in a country-style and we were happy to help! This kitchen, though spacious, suffered from lack of light and air. So Livspace designers broadened the window and opened up the utility area with a French door. The abundance of natural light that flowed in as a result of the renovation accentuated the space. The white membrane finish also made this Indian kitchen look roomy.

The blackboard was a quirky addition; it is both functional and inexpensive. The blackboard that occupies an entire wall is much cheaper than tiles and helps the family plan its meals. Ingenious, isn’t it!

Indian Kitchen on Budget #2: Go Right, Go White in Mumbai!

Compact but not cramped

White opens up space and makes the kitchen look larger than it is

Functionality is a primary feature for kitchens. But it doesn’t hurt if the kitchen is pretty too! Especially, if you can get both functionality and aesthetics on a budget. Persis Chhapkhanawalla had two requirements when she decided to revamp her 18-year old kitchen: designated space for her appliances and an all-white kitchen. We managed to deliver both with a mix of open and closed cabinets in this compact Indian kitchen.

Open shelves save both time and cost

Love for food and beauty united Bangalore couple, Ankur and Sheekha, and brought them to Livspace in the quest for the perfect Indian kitchen. It had to be a kitchen that would be equipped to serve a couple of foodies who cook extensively. We gave them a kitchen that is pristine in its whiteness with country-grooved cabinets that exude warmth. Bejewelled handles and ornate accents on the backsplash tiles make this kitchen a visual delight.

The kitchen also has open shelves that make it look more spacious. Moreover, open shelves for spices are a good option for people who cook a lot; keeps everything within reach, thereby making the process of cooking seamless. Besides, it costs less too.

Particle board cabinets save cost and are easy to maintain
indian kitchen-budget kitchen designs-renter friendly kitchen
The kitchen has plenty of room for the tenants to keep their appliances

So far, we have talked about Indian kitchens that are customised as per the requirements of the people that use it. But what if we don’t know who will be using the kitchen? We are talking about a scenario where a kitchen is designed for a home that will be rented out. Sanjay Nair wanted to furnish his kitchen for tenants and Livspace was happy to oblige.

This kitchen was designed on a tight budget. Hence, particle board was used instead of the more expensive finishes like acrylic and membrane, which also require more maintenance. The countertop is granite that is both sturdy and affordable. The kitchen is equipped with a tall cabinet that is typically considered expensive, but due to the use of low-cost materials, it could be fitted into the budget. This makes it the perfect option for tenants.

Indian Kitchen on Budget #5: Plush yet Affordable In Ghaziabad

A plush looking two-toned kitchen makes the best use of space
indian kitchen-two toned kitchen designs-moroccan tiles for kitchen
Did you know you could get Moroccan tiles on a budget?

This Indian kitchen that belongs to Sushmita Parai (mommy to three adorable pets) is a mini wonder. It has a tall cabinet, Moroccan tiles and a breakfast counter: three kitchen features that are considered expensive. And yet, this sauve two-toned kitchen costs under 2.5 lakhs! It proves that clever use of materials and resources can remarkably reduce the cost of your kitchen.

As the kitchen covers a very small area (about 80 sq ft), the per sq ft cost of tiling and installing cabinets was less. There are no lofts but a good number of wall and base cabinets for storage. The shutters of the cabinets have laminate finish that cost less than acrylic or membrane.

Size of home: 3BHK spanning 2,300 sq ft

Design team: Interior designer Shruti Modi and Project Manager Ravinder Berwal

Livspace service: Living, dining and master bedroom

Budget: ₹₹₹₹₹

When Shweta Dudeja and her husband Rishi Arora set out to find interior designers for their brand new home, they realised two things. First, it was exhausting to find someone who fit their requirements and lastly, everything seemed expensive! After a friend’s recommendation, the young couple decided to visit our Experience Center in Sector 29, Gurgaon. “We loved everything we saw there and we were excited to get started!” Shweta tells us.

A meeting with our designer Shruti Modi soon followed. They revealed they were looking for a chic and trendy interiors for their living, dining and master bedroom within a stipulated budget.  So, with a deft hand, Shruti crafted a subtle glamorous home that’s definitely won our hearts! Here’s the tour.

Minimal Foyer

Clutter-free design with only essentials

As you enter the home, your eyes are drawn to the wall flaunting family photographs. Coming in a close second, an elegant jaali has been placed to conceal a power board. In addition, Shruti put in a minimal shelf to stash keys and other quick essentials. We love this build up leading to the living room!

If you ever needed inspiration for classy interiors, this would be it! Basking in abundant sunlight, sits a plush living room. The couple The grey chesterfield L-shaped sofa offers ample seating. We love the pop of magenta for the wing armchair as well. A sleek table on gold-toned legs centres the living room.

Notice the wall behind the sofa? To keep this interesting, Shruti used a subtle greyish brown paint to elevate the ambience here. The TV unit stands in a pristine white laminate with both open and closed shelves.

“We had met a few designers before finalising with Livspace. Everybody was exorbitantly expensive. But with Livspace, we were impressed because our designer asked us about our budget and worked backwards. We also loved the Experience Centre because that gave us an idea of what finish and materials we would expect. The overall output was fabulous!”

The dining room is the very definition of plush. The subtle greyish brown paint flows from the living room into this nook as well. In addition, Shruti placed white wallpapers in elegant sections framed by trims. The dining table has been done up in gorgeous Botticino Crema marble and it has been paired with suede chairs.

Besides this is a chic white laminate crockery cabinet with grooves. We love how Shruti has created a pop here as well. On either side of the cabinet, she placed two veneer panels that adds a touch of warmth to the space. In addition, the statement wall lamps too makes a dainty element.

Shweta and Rishi didn’t want an open bar unit. As a result, Shruti crafted a fully-fledged bar unit in the crockery unit itself. It’s complete with a wine rack and glass holders as well. Also, because the couple loved dining table top, they decided to have the same marble over the crockery cabinet.

If you ask the couple their favourite designed part of the home, they would readily agree it’s their bedroom. Because blue is their most preferred colour, Shruti doused the room in shades of blue. The focal point is the accent wall made up of two wallpapers. The outer being a royal blue colour and the inner in subtle patterns, solely divided by trims in silver PU finish. To complement this, Shruti put in a headboard crafted in a soothing Oxford blue fabric.

In addition, she put in wooden side tables on either side and a white distressed chest of drawers as well. Also, take a moment to notice the comfy nook beside the bed with a floral armchair and pink footstool. On the other side of the room, she added 3D brick tiles for the wall for dimension. Opposite this, stands a TV unit in white laminate.

“It was refreshing to work and design a home for a young couple. They were sure of what they wanted, so everything went smoothly.”

2 BHK flat interior filled with lovely mirrors!

2 bhk flat interior-entrance-living room-foyer-mirrors
Step into 1600 sq ft of wonder!

Who livs here: Darshana Tendulkar with her husband, their son and parents-in-law

Location: Gundecha Trillium, Borivali East, Mumbai

Size of home: A 2BHK spanning 900 sq ft approx.

Design team: Interior Designer Yogita Itkarkar and Project Manager Mridul Nair

Livspace service: Full home design

Budget: ₹₹₹₹₹

Curating a beautiful mirror-filled home is an art. It is easy to go overboard and ruin the look. But this one just nails it. This 2 BHK flat interior is as close as it can get to perfection. The Tendulkar family moved to Gundecha Trillium so that they could reside in a better locality and enjoy a bigger home. Hence, they wanted their home to be designed professionally.

It was time for Livspace to step in and Yogita Itkarkar became their designer. She is a good listener and picked up all the cues during their design discussions. Mirrors are something that the family loves and she made sure she used them judiciously wherever possible. The foyer houses a wonderful collage of tiny circular mirrors to start with. You will be amazed by all the elements that stitch this house together. Take a tour.

The entrance to this spacious home tells you exactly what you should be looking forward to. The highlight of this space has to be the wooden patti with the tiny circular mirrors that form a collage on it. The family also wanted a Ganesha idol here and Yogita came up with an intelligent solution. She carved an outline of the deity on one of the mirrors.

You can also spot storage units next to this accent wall. Complete with wooden niches and spotlights, this is the right place to display coveted curios!

2 BHK Flat Interior: A Comfy Living

A living room like this one can make anyone want to relax with friends and family
2 bhk flat interior-living room-blue sofa-wooden centre table

The living room is made completely for entertainment. While briefing Yogita, Darshana was clear that their living room had to have enough seating for guests. Therefore, she gave them a blue Cassandra sofa paired with a matching, printed accent chair. Wooden centre and side tables impart a contemporary vibe to this place.

Storage was another criteria that Yogita had to fulfill and you can see that clearly in the TV unit as well. You can spot box-style wall mounted drawers in acrylic finish. The base unit also has drawers and open shelves with a spacious top. The shimmery beading on the textured wallpaper complements the mirror in the dining room.

2 BHK Flat Interior: Mirror, Mirror on the Wall

A stunning dining room design by the designer

The dining area again features copper mirror panelling with cove lighting on the false ceiling. The wooden panel you see next to it is built to cover up a maintenance window. The dining table has a lovely glass top and chairs are upholstered with the same fabric as the sofa and accent chair in the living. The sideboard is another functional addition to this space.

Doesn’t this kitchen refresh your senses instantly? A dash of lime green is what Darshana wanted for the kitchen of her 2 BHK flat interior and Yogita obliged. She did not let the colour seem overpowering by giving both, wall and base units in the same colour. She offset the bright colour with silver-grey acrylic finish on the base units. Also, do not miss the tiles on the backsplash. They act as the right highlight in this kitchen.

Welcome to the master bedroom in this 2 BHK flat interior. There are so many elements that we want to highlight here. Let’s talk about the obvious first — the bed and wall behind it. The white bed with the purple upholstered headboard looks fetching in this classy bedroom. Since the couple wanted a lot of storage, Yogita gave them push to open cabinets above the headboard. Also, since there was limited space for a bedside table, she gave them a wall mounted table with rounded edges for safety. This is used by Darshana when she’s working.

The dresser on the opposite wall comes with storage and display shelves in classic wooden finish. Talking about the walls, on one of the walls Yogita has given them a stylish wallpaper and on the other you can spot hexagonal tiles.

2 BHK Flat Interior: Neutral Elegance

You can never go wrong with beige to create a simple bedroom

The guest bedroom paints a pretty picture in your head the moment you look at it. Subtle beige colour scheme accented by a simple printed wallpaper are heroes here. A white, swing door laminate wardrobe takes care of storage and a compact dresser finds place next to the bed.

“The best part about working with Darshana was that she was open to new ideas. They gave me complete freedom to work on designs for their home and that opened up so many avenues. I could experiment and give them fresh designs. It was a joy to work for this family!”

-Yogita Itkarkar, Interior Designer, Livspace

Classy and contemporary duplex house images from Gurgaon.

duplex house images-bar unit designs-red sofa designs-duplex house designs
Warm colours set the tone for the massive living area

Who livs here: Rajesh Ojha with his wife Priya

Location: M3M Golf Estate, Gurgaon

Size of home: A duplex spanning 2,000 sq ft approx. on each floor

Design team: Interior Designer Shilpa Garg and Project Manager Chandan Gaurav

Livspace service: Living area, balcony and 2 bedrooms

Budget: ₹₹₹₹

The duplex house images here paint a perfect picture of contemporary design tempered with radiant Indian colours. The youthfulness of the young couple that lives in this home seems to have rubbed off on its design. Rajesh and Priya Ojha entertain a lot and so this home is dressed to impress. Our interior designer Shilpa Garg has ensured that they can accommodate a good number of guests in this expansive home without stuffing it with bulky furniture.

The couple wanted their home to be bright, spacious and awe-inspiring as Rajesh runs a real estate business out of home and often meets clients here. Naturally, no effort has been spared to make it look like a show apartment.

Take a look at these duplex house images to be inspired by this gorgeous home that also doubles up as an office.

Duplex House Images: A Warm Green Welcome
duplex house images-duplex house designs-indoor garden ideas-grey wallpaper designs
The green patch under the stairs is a breath of fresh air
duplex house images-duplex house designs-indoor garden ideas

The entrance to this duplex is done in style with grey wallpaper and mirror wall accents. Additionally, there is a bit of bling coming from the golden wall lighting fixture and we do love the abstract art chosen for this corridor. But the patch green created under the stairs is the star of the show. It must be noted that this patch has been created using artificial plants and turfing. As the home belongs to a working couple, the designer wanted to keep the decor low maintenance.

Duplex House Images: Paint me red!
duplex house images-duplex house designs-red sofa designs-indoor plant decor ideas
The red tufted Cassandra sofa has a touch of class

It is evident from the duplex house images that there is plenty of space in this home and its sparsely populated by furniture. However, the furniture is rich in colour and texture; so this duplex looks spacious but not empty.

duplex house images-duplex house designs-red sofa designs-golden drape designs-sheer drape designs
duplex house images-duplex house designs-red sofa designs-side table designs

The rich red Cassandra sofa is from the Livspace catalog. It has been paired with side tables with metallic base and marble top. Moreover, the centre table adds its own dose of glamour with its metallic pin and ball structure with a glass top. Additionally, the wall accent is by far the most interesting as it comprises golden wallpaper, moulding and metallic plates. It also includes wall lights for a complete package.

The bar unit is a novel addition to this living area. Essentially, it is a hand cart with carvings that has the intricate texture of timber.

Duplex House Images: The Upper Deck
duplex house images-duplex house designs-red sofa designs-modern chandelier designs
The contemporary chandelier is a continuity piece between the two floors
duplex house images-duplex house designs-red sofa designs-marble flooring ideas

As per Shilpa, who is the designer, the double height ceiling of the living area was the biggest design challenge. Hence, she decided to fill up this space with a modern chandelier that comprises a bunch of upturned jars. This stained glass lighting piece can be seen from the upstairs balcony as well. Thus, it serves as a continuity piece between two floors of this duplex.

“The best part about having our home designed by Livspace was that we had a single point of contact. The design and installation processes were seamless. Moreover, the end product, which is our home, is just perfect!”
– Rajesh Ojha, Livspace Homeowner

Duplex House Images: Quirky Home Office
duplex house images-duplex house designs-exposed brick wall ideas-wallpaper ideas
The exposed brick wall adds an element of quirk to the study
duplex house images-exposed brick wall ideas-wallpaper ideas-grey blind ideas

Our favourite spot in this home is the study-cum-office. Not only is it bright and contemporary, it rather quirky too. The vibrant red exposed brick wallpaper is not something you would expect to see in an office. But it blends in beautifully with the peppy art work in this room. Further, there is a console for keeping equipment like printers and scanners at one end. This console has white membrane finish and can be used to store files as well.

duplex house images-exposed brick wall ideas-wallpaper ideas-scandinavian floor lamp
The metallic floor lamp is straight out of the book of Scandinavian design
duplex house images-exposed brick wall ideas-wallpaper ideas-picnic table designs
duplex house images-exposed brick wall ideas-wall art ideas

While the chairs for this study were picked from our catalogue, the table is custom-made; it is made of MDF and layered with white Duco paint. The white table is quite unlike any conventional office furniture. Infact, it gives the distinct vibe of a picnic table. To sum it up, this study is meant for those who like to combine work and play. If you are in no mood to go to office, this home office with its touches of playfulness would be the perfect place to settle down with a laptop.

Duplex House Images: Blue Velvet

The velvet of the headboard sets a plush vibe for this bedroom
duplex house images-bed bed designs-wooden flooring ideas-black and white carpet designs
duplex house images-bed bed designs-headboard designs-velvet headboard designs

It is obvious from the duplex house images that the master bedroom of this house is massive in size. However, the designer has chosen to furnish it minimally. There is a bed from our catalogue with a plush velvet headboard. Moreover, the regal demeanor of the bed contrasts with very contemporary looking pendant lights on either side of the bed. Finally, the beige wallpaper has soft geometric patterns that whiff of modern design.

duplex house images-media wall ideas for bedroom-wooden flooring ideas-TV unit ideas

Right opposite to the bed, there is an entertainment unit that has a matte membrane finish. It is pertinent to note that it is deliberately minimal and sleek to make the room look just as large as it is.

Duplex House Images: Vintage Pooja Unit

This pooja unit is dressed with pretty white drapes and inbuilt lights

The pooja unit has a vintage dark wood finish sculpted into a contemporary design. This entire unit was handpicked from the options in our category. The setup cuts a pretty picture with inlaid lights and white drapes.

Duplex House Images: Green Acres

duplex house images-balcony seating ideas-balcony garden ideas-wooden flooring ideas
The whites of the furniture, bright coral of the cushions and greens form a pleasant ensemble
duplex house images-balcony seating ideas-balcony garden ideas-swings for balcony

The first floor balcony of this duplex is rather roomy and offered a great design opportunity that was too tempting to miss. Shilpa furnished this space with wicker chairs and a cozy swing. We love the refreshing coral colour of the cushions and also the vertical garden. Besides, if you have a large enough balcony, you can definitely take some inspiration from the garden cladding done on one of the walls here.

“Rajesh and Priya were very accommodating as clients; they gave me plenty of freedom to design their home as per my sensibilities. They were not afraid to experiment with bold colours like red and gold.”
– Shilpa Garg, Interior designer, Livspace

A Brigade Millennium kitchen, courtesy of Livspace, that’s designed to perfection!

Brigade Millennium-red-white-kitchen-parallel-layout
A clutter-free design at its best

Who livs here: Roshan Pai and his wife along with his father Ramesh and his mother
Location: Brigade Millennium, JP Nagar, Bengaluru
Size of kitchen: 128 sq ft
Design team: Interior designer Marita Manavalan
Livspace service: Kitchen
Budget: ₹₹₹₹₹

How would you define your dream kitchen? Spacious and bright? Maybe with a cheery colour? This flat in Brigade Millennium, Bengaluru, recently got a kitchen makeover. And it’s serious goals! While Roshan Pai and his wife live in the US currently, he wanted his parents to have an uber comfortable kitchen. Also, it would also make it easier when they eventually come back to Bengaluru.

“We wanted a seamless kitchen,” the family revealed to our designer Marita Manavalan. As a result, Marita crafted a design that defines a place for everything and everything in its place. With a happy wine red colour, the kitchen looks picture-perfect. Especially with all that abundant sunlight pouring into the space! Here’s the tour.

The kitchen is a testimonial to red being a powerful colour. It holds your attention and never fails to make a statement. When the design team came up with a red and white palette, the family readily agreed. While pristine white has been used for the upper cabinets, wine red adorns the base cabinets. In addition, the choice of high gloss acrylic finish scores a perfect ten on style. Because of the acrylic finish, all the surfaces appear clear and smooth as well.

Marita used Kalinga stone for the countertop to complete the look. Also, having done that, she extended it to the backsplash to elevate the ambience.

Well-lit and bright kitchens have always been the marker of an efficient kitchen. While this kitchen already features two wide windows in one end, Marita added more light sources as well. She put in an elegant false ceiling and LED strips below the wall cabinets.

Since the kitchen has been designed in a parallel layout, it opened up a lot of storage options. We love how Marita cleverly used up the space without making it look overwhelming. It houses a tall unit, built-in refrigerator, and plenty of drawers. Everything appears seamless and smooth. Moreover, a roller shutter has been put in to neatly tuck in electrical appliances. The kitchen is clutter-free at its best!

Just on the outskirts of New Delhi lies Sunworld Vanalika, where the Agarwal family found their abode. A lot of factors like convenience and comfort, contributed to their decision to change their earlier residence. But, just one factor was enough to convince them to get their home designed — the wish to come back home to comfort and personal space. This working family has members who love having their own corners at home and individual tastes and preferences.

After a brief discussion with Ojasvi, their designer, they were convinced about going ahead with her. Thanks to her quick thinking and superb design skills, they were able to communicate their thoughts clearly. While Ankit and Madhuri wanted a splash of colour here and there, his parents were more inclined towards simplicity. Read on to find out how Ojasvi took this forward and made sure that the tiny one at home gets ample space to run around as well.

Blue was the chosen colour for the upholstery and it matches perfectly with the slate grey wall. In Ojasvi’s words, “The white mouldings are like snowflakes on the wall.” We couldn’t agree more. And look at all the sunlight shining through the balcony.

The elaborate TV unit finished in glossy white laminate occupies the entire wall. This is where Mr. Agarwal stores all his books and files. A combination of sleek handle-less cabinets and open shelves dictate the storage in this unit.

Ankit and Madhuri wanted a pop of colour in their room, so Ojasvi gave them this stunning golden yellow texture paint. It acts as the right accent in this subtle bedroom. A grey button-tufted headboard plays match with the TV unit and the wardrobes. Since Idhant goofs around here a lot, Ojasvi made sure that there is ample empty floor space here.

Sunworld Vanalika: Subtle Symphony

A guest-cum-kid’s bedroom comes alive with a blue wallpaper

This bedroom acts as a guest bedroom when guests are staying over and turns into Idhant’s playground otherwise. The family retained an existing bed for this room and Ojasvi brought it to life with the pretty blue wallpaper. The study corner is vastu compliant and receives enough sunlight coming in through the window.

Isn’t this the perfect spot to let your creativity flow?

In his free time, Ankit loves blogging and for that he wanted his own room at home. This is his den and he enjoys working out of here since this room houses his favourite red recliner. This room has provision for a projector that makes his work easy. Another striking element here is the accent wall with his favourite guitars, violin and ukulele along with laminate wall panels as the backdrop.

“Residential projects are never easy but clients like this family, make our job worthwhile and satisfying. And, that smile on their faces and the warm welcome that we get whenever we meet them is just so gratifying. I loved designing for this amazing family.”

A 3BHK home in Mumbai that has a classy minimal style with industrial edges.

A living room broken into three distinct parts

Who livs here: Abhinav Kumar and his wife Ruchira

Location: Parel, Mumbai

Size of home: A 3BHK spanning 1,200 sq ft approx.

Design team: Interior Designer Sonal Jalan and Project Manager Ravinder Panchal

Livspace service: Full home design (kitchen not included)

Budget: ₹₹₹₹

A rough edge here and some raw finishes there define what we broadly describe as industrial in terms of design. This kind of design started in underground clubs with typically exposed ducts and made its way into studios. It is also making a mark in homes now. So when Abhinav and Ruchira came to us for designing a home in Mumbai with industrial touches, we were just as enthusiastic as them!

The couple, who are lawyers by profession, provided our interior designer Sonal Jalan with informed design inputs. This helped her design their dream home that is contemporary in style and imbibes design elements that are industrial, minimal and Scandinavian in origin. This home in Mumbai with a confluence of styles is just what you need to be inspired.

Home in Mumbai: Falling for the Foyer
home mumbai-jaali partition designs-foyer design ideas-white console designs
The foyer sets the tone of the home with a mix of minimal design and a vintage vibe

The foyer has a shoe cabinet that looks like a console. White laminate and a metallic frame make this a contemporary piece both functional and decorative. The mirror has a very basic grey frame that goes with the overall simplicity of the home in Mumbai. The wall lights look like the heads of lamp posts bring a vintage vibe to the settings.

Home in Mumbai: Living the Industrial way
home mumbai-jaali partition designs-white brick wall designs-bar unit designs
The bar unit looks like a mini bar on a ship’s deck

The living area begins with a bar unit that is quite unlike anything we have seen. There is a distinct deck-like feel associated with this piece. The glamour here comes from the tinted mirror base of the unit.

home mumbai-jaali partition designs-blue sofa designs-centre table designs

The sitting area is marked by the white MDF jaali partition, which is not opaque so it doesn’t eat up space. The tufted blue sofa is a Cassandra from our catalogue. It is paired with two winged-back arm chairs, also from our catalogue. The centre table is a custom-made piece with a walnut coloured table top and metallic base culminating in wheels. The media wall is a simple affair with greyish laminate finish and two pendant lights to glam up things.

home mumbai-white brick wall designs-low height partition designs
A low-height partition breaks up the space without obstructing the view
home mumbai-blue sofa designs-area rug designs-sheer drapes designs
home mumbai-picnic table designs-white brick wall designs

The dining area is a narrow space, which presented a design challenge for Sonal. She decided to have a slim four-seater picnic table here with chairs from the Livspace catalogue. An edgy chandelier with distinct industrial overtones sums up the dining area neatly.

The white brick wall was created using wall cladding; it was a special request from Abhinav and Ruchira. What we found most interesting was the low console-cum-partition between the sitting and dining areas. This grey laminate piece does not obstruct our view but provides a break in the room. It can also be used as a serving space when the couple entertains guests. Smart piece of furniture, isn’t it?

Home in Mumbai: Breezy Blues & Gorgeous Greys

The master bedroom has a distinct Scandinavian vibe
home mumbai-blue headboard designs-wood trimming designs-grey accent walls

The master bedroom is a glorious blend of royal blue and grey tones. Its clean and crisp lines combined with minimal furniture displays a whiff of Scandinavian influences. This is particularly true for the wooden trims behind the bed that acts as an accent piece in this room. The bed has a blue Carmen headboard from our catalogue that aches with a lilting note. The pendant lights are simple but effective as are the floating side tables.

The wardrobe has frosted glass shutters to maintain the openness of the design. The wall-to-wall wardrobes have sliding doors and a decorative column of open shelves. The TV unit is a minimal affair with a grey wall panel and white base cabinets.

There is a dresser in this room with a full-length mirror and storage. On the other side, laminate finish wardrobe without handles offer ample storage. The room is not crowded with any unnecessary furniture.

Home in Mumbai: The Study with Scandi Influences

The third room in this home in Mumbai is used as a working space and study. Naturally, it has a cosy sofa-cum-bed that can rolled out when they have guests. Further, the room also has a floating desk as well as a high back office chair.

home mumbai-ladder cabinet designs-blue accent wall designs
The ladder cabinet and rafters on the ceiling help maintain continuity in this room

The main attraction of this room is a cool electric blue accent wall. This wall is fitted with ladder cabinets to store books. Being lawyers, the couple has no dearth of books to store!

“Abhinav and Ruchira were helpful and accommodating while we were designing their home and doing the installations. They allowed us plenty of breathing time. Over and above that, it was a genuine pleasure to work with them because they understood and appreciated good design.”

Top interior designers in Bangalore deliver a cosy home!

top-interior-designers-in-bangalore-living-room-beige-sofa-wooden-table
A light and airy living room setting

Who livs here: Ankush Koul and Deepshikha Pandit
Location: Definer Hi Life, Bangalore
Size of home: 3BHK spanning 1,709 sq ft
Design team: Interior designer Nandhakumar Ramasamy and Project Manager Uma Maheshwari
Livspace service: Full home design
Budget: ₹₹₹₹₹

When Ankush Koul and Deepshikha bought a swanky new flat at Definer Hi Life, Bangalore, they agreed on one thing. They wanted an interior designer to help them create a picture-perfect home. So when they were searching for top interior designers in Bangalore, they come across Livspace’s website. And fell in love almost instantly!

While their initial plan was just to get their living room and kitchen done, they decided to do their full home after being impressed with what they saw at our Experience Centre on Lavelle Road. A meeting with our designer Nandhakumar Ramasamy soon entailed. Their home now is a reflection of the couple’s personality – happy and bright!

Nandhakumar ensured each room has the perfect ambience. Right from the classy entryway to the cosy study! Here’s the tour.

Elegant Entrance

A light floral wallpaper makes a good first impression

We love soothing entrances. And so does Ankush and Deepshikha! So Nandhakumar put in a subtle floral wallpaper all around to set an ambience as soon as you enter. Take a moment to notice how a lone wood-framed mirror adds a touch of softness to the place as well. In addition, a custom-made shoe cabinet in laminate grey complements the newly done up wooden flooring.

Of Woods and Whites

Ample seating without looking overwhelming

Comfy, airy and plenty of breathing space define this living room. “Ankush and Deepshikha wanted the living to be in white and wooden tones. So it’s been designed in a breezy neutral palette,” explains Nandhakumar.

We love how there’s ample seating options without looking overwhelming. On one side, you have a beige L-shaped sofa and a coffee table with four seats neatly tucked under it. While on the other end, you have a single chair and a sleek cushioned bench under a photo gallery wall.

The couple didn’t want a bulky TV cabinet. As a result, Nandhakumar put in a low wide unit that doesn’t take a lot of space. The white laminate element adds to the vibe of the room. Also, if you look closely, you would notice a white panel behind the TV unit. It adds a touch of elegance to the space. The pop of yellow for the curtains is refreshing among neutrals. Doesn’t everything sit beautifully on the dark wooden flooring?

Statement Dining
top-interior-designers-in-bangalore-dining-room-accent-light-wooden
top-interior-designers-in-bangalore-dining-room-accent-light-wooden-rug

The dining room is all about making a statement with wood. The nook flaunts a glass top table paired with six chairs. Of course, the focal point is the accent light that centres the dining nook. A rug in hues of red and brown gives the space a touch of dimension. Besides this, Nandhakumar placed a minimal wooden buffet table.

A Classy Pooja

The divine corner of this home is the very definition of elegance. Standing in a wooden tone laminate, it flaunts the same subtle floral wallpaper from the entrance as a back panel. It’s been fitted with cove lights to set the perfect ambience needed in your pooja. Featuring two drawers and a wide open shelf, the surface has been topped off with granite.

“We are very happy with our designer Nandhakumar’s work. Our home looks gorgeous! Right from the light-coloured living to our dark-hued bedroom, everything is cosy and comfortable. It looks and feels like a home now.”

We love fuss-free kitchens. And that’s exactly what this kitchen is all about. Dressed in slate grey and pristine white laminates, the open kitchen looks plush and bright. Thanks to its U-shaped layout, edge profile handles, and ample storage, the kitchen scores a perfect score in efficiency. While the countertop is in traditional granite, the backsplash flaunts light grey textured tiles.

There’s storage options all around. From the tall unit to wicker baskets and plenty of drawers, space has been optimised perfectly. The couple wanted a breakfast table as well. But Nandhakumar didn’t want them to lose all that precious space by putting a regular breakfast table. As a result, he put in a foldable option that’s paired with two bar stools.

top-interior-designers-in-bangalore-master-bedroom-grey-headboard-wardrobe

While the entryway and living stand brightly, the master bedroom is a different story. “We wanted a bedroom in hues of soothing grey,” reveals Deepshikha. As a result, Nandhakumar placed a subtle grey floral wallpaper for the centre wall and a darker hue for the headboard. The bedroom is the couple’s favourite part of the house.

A hydraulic bed, side tables and chest of drawers have been placed after selecting it from our catalogue. The wardrobe stands out in the same headboard colour. In addition, a lacquered glass panel runs along the centre of the wardrobe.

Notice how the flooring matches with its surroundings? This is thanks to a light grey vinyl sheet placed over the flooring.

Wooden Warmth

Pop of yellow for the parents’ bedroom
top-interior-designers-in-bangalore-wooden-bedroom-wardrobe-table
top-interior-designers-in-bangalore-wooden-bedroom-table-flowers

Something about wooden interiors always makes a space inviting and cosy. Just like this bedroom. Deepshikha’s parents room is an ode to traditional wooden interiors. From the chest of drawers to the laminate wardrobe with lofts on top and the bed itself, everything is in a beautiful dark wooden tone. Moreover, the flooring has been done up in the same dark hue to match with its surroundings. We love how the pop of yellow for the curtain enhances the vibe of this room.

A Reader’s Favourite Nook
top-interior-designers-in-bangalore-wooden-bookshelf-study-room-wardrobe
A massive bookshelf any reader would love
top-interior-designers-in-bangalore-wooden-bookshelf-study-room-armchair

Who wouldn’t want to sit back in this powder blue armchair and snuggle with a book? Being an ardent reader, Deepshikha loves spending time in the study. Of course, the highlight of the study is the floor-to-ceiling shelf that can house pretty much anything. Flaunting plenty of open shelves to stack books and collectibles, the unit also features drawers as a storage option. On one end, you have a worktop where you can comfortably do your things. And, on the other end, Nandhakumar crafted the right space for the couple to fit an existing wardrobe.

Because the flooring has been done in carpet, the couple can even prop on the ground with a book or a hot cuppa.

From a designer’s point of view, this was a dream project. I was given complete freedom to experiment with designs and it was an absolute pleasure working with Ankush and Deepshikha.”

What attracts you about a city? Is it the beautiful locales or the exotic cuisines or just the vibe that it exudes? Well, Pune has the best of all worlds in our opinion. Thanks to its student population and the influx of expats who have come back to the cooler, less populated city, Pune is the perfect choice for youngsters and retired individuals alike. Relax at the Osho Ashram or explore the Karla Caves, but if you happen to live in Pune, you are going to love reading this.

Livspace decided to design homes for the beautiful people of this city and Ankush and Pritika Zanwar happened to be one of them. Located in Tathawade, Akshar Elementa is an upscale property where this family owns a stunning home. When they approached us and discussed their requirements with Livspace designer Chinky Budhraja, things were crystal clear. They wanted a design that gives them ample storage and has colours only in elements that they can change over time. Read on to find out how Livspace gave Pune its first #LivspaceHome!

Interiors at Akshar Elementa: A Dancing Welcome

A lavish foyer is not on everyone’s wishlist and the Zanwar family is one of them. They like all things simple and elegant and as you scroll, you’ll see it’s exactly what Chinky gave them for their apartment in Akshar Elementa. This travel-loving couple has a lot to put up on display and these white laminate wall display boxes are ideal for the same. Set against the backdrop of an abstract wallpaper, these dancing ladies are highlighted by minimal track lights.

The moment you step inside this spacious Akshar Elementa home, its fresh and calm vibe instantly lifts your spirits. This living room features simple walls and clean lines with minimal furniture. All you can see is the bright blue L-shaped sofa and a marble-top centre table. Spot those subtle hints of shimmer in the frame of the centre table and wall decor.

Something that is worth mentioning here is the accent wall for the TV unit. On one side you can see a wooden finish wallpaper with wooden beading forming a pattern on it. Triangular lights illuminate the pattern on the wall brilliantly. On the other side, a simple textured wallpaper strikes a balance.

Interiors at Akshar Elementa: A Classy Statement

A sleek dining space for this cosy family
akshar elementa-dining room-marble top dining table

Dining rooms hold a special place in the hearts of families for the sole reason that this is the place at home where families come together at the end of the day. Keeping up with the design style that Pune loves, this dining room is classy and sleek. Ankush wanted a marble-top dining table and Chinky decided to give them chairs that suit the look of this space. Chairs upholstered in a neutral colour and a comfy bench, as an alternative seating option.

Interiors at Akshar Elementa: A Cosy Retreat

They say a bedroom should be that space at home where you feel relaxed and calm. Therefore, Chinky came up with a grey and white colour scheme for the master bedroom in this Akshar Elementa apartment. A fully upholstered bed with hydraulic storage is a smart choice if you require a lot of storage space.

On one side of the bed sits a side table with two large drawers, and on the other you can spot a tall dresser with storage. A sliding wardrobe with lofts is high on space and a grey lacquered glass panel in the centre adds to the beauty of the room.

Interiors at Akshar Elementa: A Peppy Work Zone

A peppy work zone for Ankush
akshar elementa-work zone-purple wall paint-shelves-cabinets

Remember the days when our nursery school walls used to be painted in vibrant colours accompanied by bright desks and chairs? There was a reason behind it. Bright colours keep your mind active and help you work better. Since Ankush is a teacher, he needs a lively ambience to work in and a peppy purple wall works just right for him. This work zone designed for him features a combination of open and closed storage and a compact ledge and chair where he can sit and work.

Interiors at Akshar Elementa: Made for Comfort

Ankush’s mother is an ardent lover of all things white and she wanted her entire room to be designed using white as the dominant colour. Therefore, our designer came up with a practical solution and gave her trundle bed some character with marblesque laminate panels. A fully mirrored sliding wardrobe opens up the space while a simple brick print wallpaper makes the room interesting.

She also loves chanting and reading, so she needed a cosy spot in her room for the same. To make her feel comfortable, Chinky suggested this upholstered recliner. It sits right next to a tall cabinet with drawers where she can keep her things as she relaxes.

“Ankush and Pritika were very easy to work with since their ideas were clear and decision-making was quick. I have given them pops of colour here and there, and made sure that everything can keep changing over time, just like they wanted. This home is a true representation of how
Pune-ites like their home to look and feel. It was a great experience to design this one!”

Situated in a quieter part of Bengaluru, to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. “For us, a home is a place where we can be ourselves after a hectic day at work. Just be happy, being together,” Mohit says.

When the young couple met up with our designer Charul M. Lodha to translate their thoughts into a reality, they struck a chord almost immediately. “We had a clear idea of what we wanted. Something subtle yet colourful. Minimal yet lively” they explain.

Keeping up with the times, Charul designed a home tailored to their style and created a home that flaunts a mix of styles. We love the indie chic vibe of the home! From the Indian-themed living room to the multi-purpose room that houses pretty much everything smartly, there’s something to always catch our eye in this home. Let’s walk right in!

Contemporary House Design: A Refined Foyer

While the foyer is kept minimal, it has hints of glamour as well. The most notable being a golden and copper wallpaper. It complements the custom-made gold-toned partition that separates the area from the living.

It would almost be impossible to point out our favourite part of the living room. From the blue textured wallpaper to the distressed console table, there’s something to always marvel at. Moreover, we love how all the elements come together to create an Indian contemporary setting.

Notice how there’s no TV in the living room? This was a conscious choice, reveals the couple, One thing we were clear about was that we didn’t want a TV in the living room. We wanted people to come over and have conversations.”

Charul put in an elegant false ceiling, wooden bar unit, gorgeous textures, and comfy seating. In addition, she put in indirect lighting to elevate the ambience. We especially love the pop of red around the room!

“We went to Livspace with a couple of ideas and they helped us put together all the pieces of the puzzle. Livspace and our designer, Charul Lodha, delivered exactly what we were hoping for. The house looks exactly as we imagined it to be when we started the journey.”

The dining room stands out in simplicity and elegance. It flaunts a neutral-toned dining set with a tufted bench as one side of seating. While a medieval-inspired chandelier centres the space, a rustic marble top has been used for both the dining table and crockery unit beside it. Also, a corner display unit that holds collectibles acts as intriguing element. We love how the centre wall with family photographs complete the look.

Notice the entryway to the kitchen? It’s been lined with a laminate wooden panel for a touch of warmth.

“We had very specific requirements for the kitchen” Neetika says. “When Charul showed us the cappuccino colour palette, we loved it instantly.”

The kitchen is both aesthetically-pleasing and high on functionality. While both wall and base cabinets are in a glossy acrylic finish, the countertop is a smooth quartz. In addition, Charul replaced their existing backsplash to printed tiles to keep things interesting. For storage, she put in a roller shutter to store electrical appliances, a tall unit for groceries, and a wicker basket for dry food. Moreover, she used edge profile handles to create a seamless look.

Contemporary House Design: Blissful in Blues

While the living room is lively and vibrant, the master bedroom is doused in soothing hues of blue. From the subtle teal wallpaper to the powder blue armchair, the room definitely scores a perfect ten for an unwinding setting. But the focal point of the room is the striking sapphire headboard.

The floor-to-ceiling membrane wardrobe is a smart work of art. Featuring a gap in the middle for a wooden TV panel and a dressing unit at the end.

Contemporary House Design: For the Love of Prints

Just like the master bedroom, Mohit’s parents room is minimal and soothing. But this time, the choice of colour was grey. The centre subtle wallpaper and glossy acrylic wardrobe are both in shades of grey. For an extra bit of storage, Charul put in a chest of drawers as well and the bed features hydraulic storage as well. Also, because of the use of textures and prints, it creates a settling and homely vibe to the space. On the opposite side, stands a study-cum-TV unit in white and the same grey hue.

If you ask the couple which room they spent most time in, they would readily point to their third bedroom. “We thought the third bedroom would be a bit of a challenge,” Mohit reveals, “we wanted a large TV unit, a study, wardrobe space and a pooja unit. And we would really like to thank Charul for helping us to reach where we wanted with this room.”

The informal living room houses a sofa-cum-bed, a glossy acrylic wardrobe with lofts, and a wide laminate study-cum-TV unit. In addition, Charul also put in a pooja unit in laminate with a jali in duco paint. A subtle wallpaper acts as the backdrop of this space.

The couple didn’t want several add ons for their bathroom. Their only requirement was to have storage. As a result, Charul put in laminate cabinets under the counter. Its champagne colour gives the bathroom a cleaner look. She also added a glass partition to give it a modern look.

“There was a certain warmth in Neetika and Mohit’s personalities. They wanted something simply stunning but in a subtle way. They particularly liked the minimalist look but also wanted to use some bright colors. So the designs for the fixed furniture was based on minimalism, while the lively decor came with colourful light fixtures, loose furniture, and tiles which were handpicked to create a perfect blend.”
