If you’re ever on the fence about colour-blocking in your interiors, this home just might be the nudge you need. It’s subtle without being boring and that is a combination that can never go wrong. We love how Vidhi S, the designer, has used the magic of wood and white to her advantage and created a design that looks stunning for a compact space like this one. Perfectly lit up corners, stunning accent pieces and wonderful artefacts add the right amount of character to this beautiful home.
A Warm Living Area
Very few living room designs catch the eye like this one. While the couple was clear about not cluttering their home, Vidhi was certain that she has to highlight the right spaces. A plush curvy grey sofa that is tastefully button tufted for ultimate comfort is accompanied by a printed accent chair. Less is more when it comes to a room like this. The white TV unit has a veneer panel behind it that acts as a perfect background for it.
Colour-Spotted Dining
Since loud colours were not on the agenda while designing this home, the couple personally selected these dining chairs. The handsome chairs are upholstered in a way that it colour-blocks impeccably. The shoe-cum-storage unit in the entryway is another element that adds to the beauty of this home. Featuring cabinets for storing shoes and niches for displaying artefacts, this piece does justice to the space available.
A Cool and Calming Space
Don’t we love spaces that are functional and classic? The master bedroom in this 2BHK is all things classy. With simple white walls and a wooden bed for company, this room sends out an inviting vibe. Vidhi wanted to maintain the same colour palette consisting of greys and whites in here. Therefore, she gave them a back-painted glass sliding wardrobe which the couple had specifically asked for. Everything put together, this room looks very comfortable.
A Pleasing Kids Room
This kids room doubles up as guest room when relatives or friends are visiting the couple. That’s precisely why Vidhi has given them a foldable bed that frees up floor space. Their son can enjoy and loaf around with his friends with the space that is created. To add a dash of colour, she has given colourful drawers and a colour-blocked wardrobe in here.
“The clients were very clear with how they wanted their home to look from the beginning, and that included not having any jazzy elements at home. A soft colour palette and simple interiors is what they were looking for. I was given a clear brief and I could work around it easily.”
