Tucked away from the hustle and bustle in Gurgaon stands Corona Optus, where Ramtirath and Vineeta Lumba moved into this year. While they did find a spacious and peaceful abode they had always desired, their search wasn’t over just yet. They needed a good interior design to transform their home.
After meeting with several local designers, they took a casual stroll through our Experience Centre in Sector 29, Gurgaon, and fell in love immediately! “We wanted turnkey solutions and Livspace just fit the bill,” says Vineeta. “We were especially impressed with how cooperative the company was,” added Ramtirath. They spoke to Priyanka Tandon, our designer, and described their perfect interiors: functional, spacious and beautiful. And she delivered! Here’s a tour of their lovely home.
Cozy Niche
The Lumbas have a spacious living room. But they wanted to divide it into two zones – one that would serve as a foyer, the other the main family room. So, Priyanka put up an elegant jaali that acts a partition wall and separates this cozy corner from the rest of the living room – a fix that works beautifully!
When you walk into the home, you will be greeted by a large white console table that also doubles as a shoe cabinet. Two floral upholstered armchairs work as the perfect solution for guests or to just to unwind with a book. A stone finish wallpaper works well as the backdrop for entire room.
Fine Blend
Besides the hypnotic stone finish wallpaper, the living room is also adorned with pristine white spreads. Complementing this combination are the upholstered ash grey sofa pieces that bask under the wide balconies. Of course, you can’t ignore the stunning hammertone coffee table that’s perfectly centered on an accent rug. The legs have been coated with silver paint to take the look to another level. The false ceiling with delicate spot lights completes the look.
Clever Spaces
Before entering the kitchen, you would take a couple of seconds to take in the stunning wallpaper that greets you at the door. “They didn’t want a typical mirror-clad wall. So, we put up a 3D effect wallpaper to add a bit of depth to the space,” says Priyanka.
“Clutter-free and bright” is how Ramtirath and Vineeta Lumba describe their dream kitchen. Priyanka doused the kitchen in pristine white to create a spacious and elegant look. And to keep things interesting, brick tiles with a few specs of blue and green were placed as the backsplash. The membrane finish cabinets tie the look together.
For a clutter-free working space, a roller shutter was installed. It tucks away all their electrical appliances, and an additional tall unit holds their groceries. To take things up a notch, Priyanka also added a coffee mug rack above the sink.
A blue escape
There’s something about blue that soothes your eye. This bedroom with a membrane blue wardrobe and a blue velvet headboard is perfect to unwind in. To add a bit of texture, Priyanka put in a brick pattern tiles for the centre wall. A sleek black and white bedside table adds elegance to the room.
Opposite the bed, stands a no-nonsense wooden study table with a matching staircase-esque bookshelf.
Pearly White Vanity
Doused in white, the bathroom looks crystal clean! Priyanka put in a storage cabinet with open shelves to stack towels and other essentials. An elegant grey framed mirror sits above the storage cabinet. This bathroom is #goals for the neat freak.
“Mr & Mrs Lumba were the ideal clients, they were open to ideas and that made designing their home a pleasure. The design and style enliven the space making it look spacious and stylish at the same time.”
